Its remarkable how good and affordable this sort of lens has gotten. Ive always been biased towards primes so have this range very well covered, but stuff like this and the 35-150mm 2.0-2.8 are really impressive jumps.
Make sure you update your firmware. The answer to that question is which focal length do you prefer. A large range of a prime. If you’re just doing portraits then I’d go the 50mm. If it’s for a range of things then the 28-75 would be more fitting.
I have it on my Z7ii. It's amazing. I prefer Tamron to Z24-120 even. Both sharp, but Tamron has nicer rendering, better micro contrast, easier to correct distortions in LR and ...f2.8.
28mm is just a little too narrow. Nikon 24-120/4 is still the ideal, perfect photojournalist’s tool.. I just my sold Tamron 28-75 G1 to get the Nikon. F4 is fine.
I have both and prefer Tamron. Nicer rendering, better micro contrast, easier to correct distortions in LR, nicer bokeh and in real life similar sharpness. For image quality I would take Tamron any day and add Z17-28 f2.8 for wider perspective. Z24-120 is also great, definitely more practical.
It’s a cracker of a lens. Would you consider adding it to your set up? Why or why not?
got the nikon 24-70 f4 used for 300 Euro cant complain and wont change even tho i would love that 2.8 for some shots :D
Appreciate the in-depth review Ralph
Thanks so much @@tamronaus

Yep I agree mate 👍 well said.
Yes! Only the taste test will tell you whether it's metal or plastic. This guy gets it.
Come on 👊💪🙌
Great review, Mate! I have the 24-70 f/2.8 G2 for EF mount, and I simply love it... Have a great weekend, Legend!
Good call bro 💪
Amazing lens. Sharp, great micro contrast, beautiful rendering. I actually prefer it to the excellent Z24-120 f4.
It’s a beauty!
i have z5 too, which focus fast, this lens or the 50mm f.1.8 z ??
my z5 autofocus on moving subject isnt good,

@@RalphMayhewPhotography I'm on 1.43 which is the newest firmware
Hi Ralph.
I have a z 6 but would like to buy a z 7 II for landscape photography in particular.
Do you think this lens would be good for 45.7 Mpx?
Yeah it’d be epic I reckon!
Thank you

I have the Tamron 28-75mm G1 lens and works great. Is the G2 Lens significantly better than the G1? Thank you
I’d say it’s sharper and the air focus is improved.
very nice
Thanks 🙏
Good range - 28mm-75mm
It is! I was a little dubious but it’s works really well.

Yep I can see where you’re coming from especially with photojournalism.
