I have and bought for family members several GooLoo 4000 and they’re great! You did a fantastic job showcasing the workmanship and functionality of the product.
I love my GP4000. has saved me many times and I've used it to save my neighbours and random strangers. My favourite ones other guys with the big huge trucks laughing at me that my little box is going to start their massive truck.... And of course it always does...😅
I just got mine, and my 525 BMW has been sitting for a month, no light no nothing. I took it out the box and thought I’d try it any way. It started my car three times and a SUV twice straight out of the box. Best money I’ve spent in a long time.
I have the 2000a version. I used it a couple times during the winter when I had to go to work and my battery was dead. I have an F150 so I don't need anything that big, it's definitely nice to have and not have to mess with jumper cables It also did the same as you said, it started better with the jumper battery than the regular battery 😂 It did take it a couple of tries to warm up the battery before it did end up turning over
Great Video, and the guy on Project Farm is great, and also did a fantastic video on these portable jump starters, with "realtime examples." I think from your video, and his Video, I'll buy the Gooloo -- there is a 2000 model and 4,000 amps. Both should get the job done. Project Farm ( RUclips) tested about 6 different brands, and the Gooloo came out on top, so your Video just confirmed this in my mind. Thanks for your great review here.
Thanks for trying it on various equipment especially the fridge. I have one and it’s great to know that I have an extra alternate power source if I need it: appreciate the show & tell, thanks!
Fantastic, I actually used it about 10 times over the past week. Ironically my truck battery and tractor battery both died within one day of each other. Not a problem as I got 5 years out of the tractor battery and the truck is even older. This jump starter saved me this week.
@@TKCL good to hear! I actually just received the 2000 model today off amazon after looking over basically every model and the reviews. Almost went with Noco gb 40 but was reading it wasn’t quite as powerful to stay totally dead batteries. Hopefully this gooloo will be reliable!
Just last weekend I was dealing with a dead battery in my truck, and a brother-in-law that didn't return my jumper cables. A few weekends prior, dead battery in my mower. This thing is awesome, and much more compact than the "jump boxes" I'm familiar with.
These things are must have.my first one got stolen,my second one got kidnapped by my kids my third one is mine.i had over 20 cars and trucks and the winters in Idaho eats car batteries like you won't believe .im disabled and would have to drag my charger all over with a 50 ext cord.to start cars and good luck keeping track of jumper cables with twin teenage boys.enter the gooloo 1500a smaller then yours half the size to. One charge will jump around 50 or more cars.ive never counted. But currently I have a bad battery in my truck so I've jumped it 20 times in last week It was at 75% went down to 55% after all jumps. Just charged it.it takes about ten min to chargre. And helping others jump there cars they think your crazy when you pull these out. But the look on their faces when their cars start right up is priceless. I know this was long but I will always own one of these.
Do you have a voltmeter? Several of those larger jump starters when fully charged will put out over 16 volt on the battery clamps. (I measure at the terminals on the jump starter because that little box on the cables blocks the output when not connected correctly). That high of voltage is a concern for delicate electronics. Normally it will be fine because the battery will drag the voltage down quite a bit. But if the battery is bad (not just discharged) it might not. Some cars owner's manual tell you not to jump start because of possible damage...
Yes I used my volt meter during the video. I don't recall it being that high, but at one point I think I seen 15.2 volts. I do remember it staying low with the dead battery.
Hello Andrew, been a hot minute since I've commented (but still catching every upload). Loved the review, I bought one for Christmas (different brand) and agree, absolute peace of mind having it with me on the boat and when boondocking this fall during deer season. Keep up the great content!!! Give Bullet a belly scratch for me!
Nice job. I just ordered one for my Yamaha waverunners and my Honda ATV's. Great to use over water!! I hate having to plug in and walk it out on the jetski water dock. Thanks.
Andrew........I had watched a few reviews of this jump starter after buying one and not yet having to use it. Your review was the best and the fact that you actually ran some batteries down to demonstrate it was very helpful. Since this review is a year old, have you had any real-world experiences in having to use this?
I am about to purchase one but read some posts that say they work great for about 5-6 jump starts and then they go bad. How has it been working for you two years later?
I really enjoyed that review. My mother bought me a smaller device like this a couple years back with tall claims. Whenever I needed it, it failed to do the job. Not sure if it was the devices fault, or that the battery was so far drained. I actually had to pull the battery and trickle charge for a full day before I could even get the battery charger to start a real charge. I might still get this one after watching it start your truck and tractor, not to mention running that cooler of yours I've been drooling over.
I will say that the manual gives these starters a 3-4 month shelf life. As in you need to top the charge of after that amount of time, especially if they are in cold weather. They drain just like any other battery.
They drain over time, and temperature may also affect both drain and battery capacity over time. Your cheaper device may not have worked because the battery was really low. In both cases, it's likely due to a unit that lacks amps and battery capacity. You need both to revive a really bad battery.
There are ALOT of cheap knock offs that claim big things and are not worth the time or words it takes to type this. Stick with proven tested brands. It's worth extra lil bit of money.
Hello Andrew how's it going. That is a lifesaver tool man. That is awesome that you got one. I got a buddy that has one that he uses for his towing company. I don't know if it's the same brand but it's a small jump box just like that. When he gets a calls a jumps start & he gets out of the truck with that little box people don't believe that it's going to start there vehicle. And when it starts the vehicle they are pricing. Good video. You take it easy & don't try to work too hard in this heat man.
What I'd like to know is, if your alternator goes out in your car a mile or two from home or someplace you can reasonably leave it parked, the battery is completely dead, could hooking this up let you drive a couple miles?
i just ordered one after heaps of reviews and different brand i have notice to top ones (not the most expensive ones ) are all the same. i would assume all out the same factory just deferent configs on the bank its self. i wanna see a tare down between topvision, audew, and gooloo i bet they are form the same factory. i went for the cheapest one and i, from Australia so the audew as going to be 145 usd shipped thats 200aud, i picked this up for 170 aud in Australia
They very well could be coming out of the same factory, I'm not sure though. Had to use mine a few days ago to jump start my four wheeler that's been sitting. Sure beats jumper cables or extension cords.
Nice review Andrew, if I'm seeing correctly the battery in your truck date code is B6 ? February 2016.....getting close to replacement , better carry that in the truck!! Lol Thanks as always!!
I have not fully drained it to check recharge time. I believe it's recommended every couple of months to top it off. Mine has been sitting for months and I just used it the other day with no issues and still full charge.
My gut says the jumper cable side shouldn't be used for something like that. But the cigarette lighter side is intended for steady pulls. It would probably work as long as the trolling motor wasn't run so hard it exceeded 10 amps. I'm guessing it wouldn't run one for very long.
That cigarette lighter adapter port is actually putting out 15VDC, not 12VDC. I have the same model. You have to be careful what you are operating via that adapter
It charges strictly from a USB C plug, just what the current phones use. Took me over and hour to get it to full capacity from a little over half discharge.
I have no idea how much they can carry, but it's obviously for short bursts. It has to be quite high, it really did turn my truck over quicker than the 600 CCA battery did. No way they could carry 800 or 4000 amps for a long period I agree.
Just one question, on Amazon the Orange color jump starter is $30 less then the Yellow? Who would buy the Yellow one? Why would the color make a difference in price? That's strange.
I'm pretty sure they are exactly the same but for whatever reason the sale price is different. On the Amazon "original price" the orange is higher. The specs are the same and the q&a says they are the same
