When buying Manuka Honey always look for either the MGO or UMF rating. Here’s what they mean:
MGO 250+ and above, or UMF 10+ and above is considered to be “medicinal grade”.

Manu ka honey was a wound saver for me! After abdominal surgery; I had several places in the suture line that opened and just would not heal /close. I got medical grade Manuka honey bandages and a gel in a tube from CVS and started using it. 24 hours after the first application, I noticed such a change that I started taking pictures every day. Within days, all had closed completely. I just couldn’t believe it, and told everyone I could about it!

I used to work in long term care and the wound RN often used Manuka in addition to routine wound care protocol with the elderly residents for debriding and to promote healing chronic wound management. I've literally seen it work with my own eyes. Very valuable, altho a bit expensive certainly worth it.

Yes, fragrance is truly awful! I still have a few products that I am using up that contain fragrance and I can see a massive difference on my skin when I use fragranced products vs non fragranced. My skin is always red, irritated, almost hurting when I use fragranced products, not to mention stingy eye area, I used to think that my skin was just extremely sensitive because I always had a reaction like this after applying fragranced products and never linked it to the fragrance.... now I can finally see a real difference !

People tend to notice the price tag of manuka honey, but it's only expensive in relation to other honeys. If you consider it a health supplement or skin product, the cost actually compares fairly reasonably (per gram) to other treatments on the market. No, I'm not in the manuka honey business btw. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of this honey, Dr Dray!

You have such a beautiful smile Andrea. It's so bright and expressive. I think God wanted me to see this video today. I had a bad removal of my nexplanon, the pa made a bigger cut than needed and instead of the usual 3 mm incision, it's at least a centimeter in length. It also required a stitch which is significant because it almost never needs a stitch. I was upset because of how big the scar is probably going to be but then I remembered that I watched this video and remembered your other video advising to keep cuts moisturized to reduce scarring this morning and felt comforted that my bad decisions may not have such bad consequences because you brought this to my attention. Thank you so much, you've given me such great advice for acne and now you've helped my scar issues

Helped my dads wound after his MOHS surgery & our Bulldog’s leg from mast cell tumor removal from treating as an open wound due to stitches repeatedly busting. It’s amazing to watch the healing process...our dogs leg was basically open with a huge incision, it healed so so nicely without even leaving a scar. Tualang honey is another beast that needs more attention for its healing properties.

Hello. I watched an old video of Dr Drays that mentioned propolis and she doesn't recommend it at all. There's an old one and then she mentioned that her feelings haven't changed in a vlog she did recently that featured a product with propolis in it

I keep manuka honey ointment in my first aid kit. Saw it first used on my 91 years-old mother-in-law on a poor healing open arm wound while she was in Rehab. It healed beautifully. Then used it when my husband had a 5-inch arm gash requiring 14 stitches. Again, healed beautifully. I use it when my young grandsons scrape their knees, etc. It doesn’t sting at all. I am a believer!

Last year I was serving breakfast at a restaurant in Atlanta when a guest came in and threw a cup of piping hot water in my face. I had 2nd degree burns on the whole left side of my face. The paramedics told me it would leave an ugly scar. I cleaned the wound several times daily with manuka honey/beepropolis and kept it moisturized with distilled aloe water, rosehip oil, & unrefined coconut oil. In 3 weeks you could hardly tell that half of my face was scorched off.

I’ve been using it for months. The morning after I use Retin A, I put it on my face right after the shower. I leave it on for about an hour while I go about morning routine. It really helps to keep the peeling away. I use normal local honey on the days in between.

Got some on right now, under a bandage, on a poison ivy rash I was a little too aggressive in removing. In Winter I make a skin balm that uses Manuka, olive oil, beeswax, propolis... basically a homemade dupe of Egyptian Magic. Have also used regular honey on my hair in a DYI mask.

I started applying 20 UMF manuka on it over night, with a plaster over the top. in just a few days it has improved dramatically and the itching is 95% improved.

Dear Dr Dray - from NZ and owning bee hives - your photo embedded in this VLOG is not of the manuka flower (but is a leptospernum) and the critter is not a honey bee but an evil bee-killing wasp. I spend much of my summer baiting and killing wasps as they will rob the hives. Manuka honey rocks inside and out!

I used to get some from an apairist I knew, it’s absolutely amazing for irritation, acne, generally making your skin look amazing... but yes getting the real stuff is not only horrifically expensive but dodgy as hell. Also there’s no regulations for farmers in New Zealand spraying glyphosate and other pesticides and herbicides which end up in the final product. Most Manuka honey that you buy is just multi floral with a Manuka component. Also; the Australian tea tree honey isn’t the same. The species dimorphism between the Aus tea trees and Nz ones is huge, not to mention the soil and climate conditions. Just wait until y’all discover kanuka honey. Nz will be invaded 😬
