    Great video! My son and I built a 4'x9' CNC plasma table about 6 years ago. They are quite useful. He has a water table on his. Water tables are quite messy but it is nice that the parts are cool when they get cut out. And it helps keep thin pieces from warping. We also added a rotary chuck which is handy for cutting the vertical parts on a pipe gate. He can whip out one in about 5 seconds. He has even mounted an oxy-acetylene torch on his to cut 3/4" and thicker plate. It really makes a mess with the water table.

    Looks like it's going to work very well. You'll get it all figured out I'm sure

      I'm sure, I've only been playing with it for a couple of hours and already learnt loads!

    Nice Gary! I would love to get one of these. Hey, add an extra half inch to the diameter of your logo and use a ball peen to texture it. That would look amazing. (I may have to get you to have my shop logo done up) Cheers my friend.

    cut height is WAY too high - best results use 1.7mm and pierce height 3mm

      I will experiment but I’m using the recommended settings for this plasma cutter at the moment.

    Another uk user great
    Did you get yours from rob at xtreme plasma I did
    Your cut height is way to high
    Set it to 1.6mm

      @garyhuston  27 дней назад

      No, I didn't get it from Rob. I started with that height because that's what the manual for the cutter recommended. I have since lowered it to 1.7 and it cuts squarer.

    Hi Gary, becareful with water condensation under the tray. Just something to consider.

    • @garyhuston
      @garyhuston  29 дней назад

      Gary, I’m not sure I understand what you mean. Are you thinking condensation could drop on the plasma cutter?

      @@garyhuston Yes, Gary

    • @garyhuston

      @@garynordmann138 well I have already emptied the tray of water as the spray from the plasma air was really covering everything which I wasn’t happy with. I think I will just run it dry and use it by the open door.

      @@garyhustonMy main worry was possibly damaging the plasma cutter, which then could possibly cause other problems. I take it the water in the pand is for cooling the cut parts? If that is the case then use a small pail with water and drop the cuttings into it. Just an idea.

    • @garyhuston
      @garyhuston  29 дней назад +1

      @@garynordmann138 no, the water is to capture the mess from the cut and some of the fumes. It’s quite a messy process!
