If you look at the Artetas pattern so far in transfer window..
Def - mid - and then next is forwards.
He got his main guys in def. Saliba and Gab. Then he got Ben white, zinny, Tomi and and this year stepped it up with timber.
6 cbs (people who are quality in that position - the sixth being Rice)
B. White, Tomi, Zinny, Timber, Kiwior - 5 decent LB/RB (3 main, and the other 2..one more attacking (zinny) and one more def (Kiwior). And the fact the players can play either side (Timber and Tomi)
Def Midfield: Partey, Rice, Jorginho, Elneny
- Got his main guy Rice, Partey (but obv Partey needs replacing due to age and injuries)
So just like he got Saliba, Gabby in defence first and then built on it.
Partey replacement - hopefully this summer.
Jorginho - will replace Elneny
** so one Def mid
Att Mid: Odegard, Rice (he can play multiple positions, great and smart buy), Kai (not best position, but can play here), Trossard, Jorginho
** need att mid to be starter as #8.
Wingers: Saka, Martinelli, Nelson, Jesus, Trossard
Keep Jesus as a winger - think he will be really good there. So he can come in on wither side as competition for Saka and Martinelli. And the others can do a job. Would keep Nelson as a back up - incase we are forced to play trossard, or someone gets injured and red card on same game. (Improve in future).
Striker: NEEEEEEED one proper striker. Kai as taget man back up and jesus for false 9 tactics and trossard as false 9 tactic back up.
So.. we need, def mid att mid, striker (minimum) realistically this isn't happening in one season (for the right quality) and need to be careful these days with points deductions with ffp.
This summer: QUALITY Def mid and striker (Replace Partey and New Striker), back up GK
Next summer: Quality Att mid, then a better left wing back up.

Viera is a player that is top 4 level. Not Title winning level. We need to stop beimg emotionally attached to players. Injuries, weak, and doesn't show up. How many goals and assists has he had this year? Or last year?
Like Tierney- good player, love the guy as a person and professional- but no good if you're injured alot. We would need to to buy someone anyway just to cover his injuries..so why have him the first place.
Sell him for 25-35 million. Add in another 30-40mil and you can get yourself a good att midfielder.
