- In this episode I go back a little bit and give you an insight into what has happened with the ford Ranger.
New upgrades, some colour changes, and a complete transformation happens to a vehicle that, well, needed it. Allot has changed, as I get the rig overlanding ready for a massive upcoming adventure, where we travel into Zambia as a single vehicle.
A massive thank you to the support from brands, products and shops, and you, the subscriber. I think the Ford Ranger turned out great. What do you think?

The new wrap looks great Ryan, I actually thought you had a new rig until I looked at your number plate.
Magic video mate! Nice work.
I think it looks superb.
The grey looks dope!!! The white is a no for me!!!
Colour scheme looks good bro
Awesome video, lots of expensive upgrades on the vehicle. Looking forward to the Zambia adventure.
Doesn't look like you got up to South Luangwa. Would love to see some footage of Mfuwe and the park.
I do like that carbon wrap, have you thought about doing some of the interior trim parts too, that screen looks superb but it’s surrounded by the cheap plastic parts.
Thanks Christopher, hasn’t crossed my mind to be honest, but now that I think about it . . . Maybe one day. Just have to save to get the ol girl fixed first 😬
Morning Ryan, the old rwap get my vote, but it doesnt mattet, as long as you love it and the car is doing great as i see what it went through to prep it, i think its gonnna be a real adventure. Cant wait.great show and it has been educational too.
Love the new look, good job
Calling from Canada. Surprised as you seem to have all the latest gadgets available for your overlanding trip.
Yes, it has been great to work with brand. It wouldn’t be possible without their support to have their products, but, here in SA it is on an exchange basis, with zero remuneration
Hey Ryan, looks awesome 🙌
I really like the black & white wrap! I have a new white GMC Sierra, 6'6" bed, 3.7 litre turbo that is a blank pallete that replaced my beloved 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor. I'm going with a black & white theme, RSI Smartcap and other accouterments.
Sterkte vir You, Ryan!
Thank you bud, and your ford sounds next level. Enjoy your upgrades and let me know how it goes legend 🤙
Your wrap combo is great looking, especially the canopy.
Are you not going to regret the darker shade on the bonnet and light reflection it will create?
Zero reflection of light from the bonnet
Thank you for another great video Ryan .Love Love your content and can’t wait for the Zambia episode. You do justice to my beloved African bush which I miss so much.
Was very nice meeting you and Ed in Mapungubwe in March! Love watching your adventures!
Good day Mr Ryan. I'm watching here in Botswana in Serowe town. I'm impressed by the upgrade especially the electronics inside the vehicle. The colours of the car the do blend perfectly. I just wish you pass by serowe by the time you make Botswana adventure for me to take a selfie with your Ranger😂 cheers....
Ryan, very interesting stuff for folks like us 😀. Hope this helps you enjoy Zambia! Keep on truckin'.
Thank you Doug. Always helps, but as with any adventure, things can go wrong. See you at the next one
Looks fine
What a great video, Ryan! You inspired me to buy a 2016 Ranger and I'm slowly doing overlanding upgrades every month. I was pleasantly surprised to hear you put in a subwoofer - that was my first install as a typical Durbanite now in Jhb 😂
I took quite a few videos on my phone camera in the beautiful Pafuri area and just need the confidence to post them on RUclips 😅 You and Ed are incredibly humble guys and have certainly motivated a lot of us to get out there.
Lekker video!
Great upgrades and excellent episode Ryan please share the rattle fix on the front suspension my ranger is standing on 104000 km 4 years old with the same rattle but i haven't found it yet and to replace parts until problem is solved can be a costly exercise kind regards Markus Dippenaar
Thank you Markus, will do mate 🤙
Hey Ryan, I noticed a few changes to your rig in the Namib videos. Looking good, and thus episode is champion!
Yes, Namibia trip was before this trip, and the changes you see now are the latest updates. Like I mentioned in the beginning, too many Namibia episodes out now, so, These next 4 episodes are something different. My Namibia episodes haven’t been edited yet, but will come in time 🤙
I'm starting to prep my 20 year old Pajero for a delta trip. So know this feeling.
The upgrade looks great bud, great content as always keep it up. God bless you
Thank you Josh 🙌
Thanks
Thank you legend, when mates support mates. Thanks chom
Hope you are tagging along Eddie, the two of you make a great Team
Meticulous preparation Ryan, this is absolutely great for the upcoming great journey. The Ranger looks absolutely robust and ready to hit the road now. Keep the good work Ryan 💪
Ryan, great stuff mate! I’m looking forward to visiting Zim & Zam on your 4x 4 travels from a cold and very wet Auckland. NZ.
That looks cool. Man my ass is jeuking to change my 4x4. Looking forward to see you in Nam
Great insight into your Ranger upgrades, Ryan. Your bakkie/ute is looking schmikko ey! G'day from 'stralia mate 🙌, cheers Derek
Just watched the Kruger video on Edward's channel and realized i was missing something when i saw your car
I guess I got used to the grey and black, but the new look is growing on me.
Much love from zambia
i really love it here, i may not contribute financially but i really love it here and the least i can do is watch over and over again. great content. i love it i love it i love!!!!!
Thank you bud, and really appreciate it. There is a super thanks at the bottom of the RUclips video frame. Any contribution no matter how small goes a long long way to helping the repairs on the ranger. See you at the next one 🤙
Ryan your rig is looking beast mate! Looking forward to seeing your adventures in Zam and Zim 🙂. Keep up the good work!
Thank you and can’t wait to take you on the adventure. Trying to bud, but costs are killing me 😬
@@4x4ventures_southafrica At least you are living the dream my friend. I am still trying to put it all together. ;-)
Still waiting for you chaps to visit Malawi! Give me a shout if it's ever on the itinerary! :)
Maybe one day Owen, the idea is there, it will just take time. Thanks bud
Ryan sweet upgrades my man 👌🏼😍 how nice of the sponsors and the guys for getting behind your channel.
My fav upgrades have gota be the Ikamper, Hamer bumper and the Onex gear they installed.
Shame Ford didn’t sponsor you they should! Your channels Epic 🎉
Also that 32k ZAR here in the U.K. would cost 3x that amount we need new brake pads front and rear with discs and spark plugs will set us back £1.2k so around 28.5k ZAR 😰 but brakes are important and I love my motor.
Have a lovely evening cannot wait for the next episode tomorrow 💪🏼
Great video thanks for posting. I did a two week self drive camping safari in Namibia in October. I'm hoping to do either Botswana or Zambia within the next few years.
Absolutely love your videos, an expat living in Australia, I used to live in Northwold so seeing you around my old stomping ground makes the heart sore! Never mind the overlanding videos wow wow wow love and you keep me sane by watching you and Ed doing what you do and love ❤️ keep them coming
Thank you Peter. It really is great to hear and it means so much mate. See you at the next one and can’t wait to take you on the adventure
@@4x4ventures_southafrica we coming home next year would love to catch up for a beer or two👍🏻
Love your channel, must say I was watching this episode wishing I had the money to just do a few upgrades to mine. But the money you spent in this episode is way outside most people’s budget. I like the new look but preferred the grey. Keep up the good work.
Enjoyed the video, but maybe tone-down the volume of the music in the future? 👍
Great channel! Thank you for sharing your adventures. Subscribing to see a lot more 😀
Welcome and enjoy the show 🤙
The rig is looking insane Boet . Awesome !!. Looking forward to the Zambia episodes . Love the new wrap colour, but also not too sure about the white/black contrast and still like that grey 😂🙌 . Have fun and see you in the road sometime
Thanks mate, I appreciate the comment and support. Definitely, see you on the road, and hoping there’s a bit of gravel 🤟
@@4x4ventures_southafrica 🙌😂👏
The Ranger looks mean. This video is a movie, what a legend you are sir.
How many kilos has the Ranger covered this far?
Thank you Max, appreciate your feedback bud, and good to hear it mate. The ranger has done 148 567 km. Not bad for 7.5 years I think?
@@4x4ventures_southafrica always a pleasure. Until I can afford my own bakkie, I’m living my overlanding adventures through your channels and I’m so grateful.
You’ve really taken good care of your bakkie, just goes to show that you don’t need the most expensive bakkie, you just need the right products to go out there. Much appreciated from 🇳🇦.
Awesome Video Ryan, well done. Looking forward to your Zambia & Zimbabwe episodes. You guys create such amazing content.
Thank you Andrew. Really appreciated mate. Can’t wait to show you the next one
I liked the old color scheme more..
As always Ryno The RHINO produces another great video . Interesting to see how much work goes into getting your rig looking so GOOD . Enjoy Zambia and Zimbabwe ! ! !
Lekka episode bud🔥Ranger looking great.
Thank you mate, much appreciated 🙌
Your channel/videos are inspirational to aspiring outlanders like me who have little knowledge about what is needed out there in the wild. Great episode Ryan. You should think about a show where you invite novice outlanders 😊
Hello Ryan thank for your awesome overlanding adventure videos. I watched all of them. It's good to make a change to your truck, but personally I loved the previous wrap of grey, it was rugged and wild. That grey colour made your truck better looking than the other guys. Keep the great work, we support you. 🎉
The ranger looks top next level 👌
Thank you Justice 🤙
The new wrapping will take time to get used to. The grey was mint, but it looks good. There are more gadgets in there now than a spaceship 😂. Maintaining a 4x4 is expensive, but maintaining one that is putting in the miles is where the big money lies. But she looks really good and can't wait for the Zambia videos. Keep up the good work mate👌👍👌
Indeflate is probably the best piece of kit I own! First thing out at any trail/tour and the last thing to get put away before you hit the blacktop!
Had a small issue on my indeflate a while back, popped them a mail and Ricus got me sorted quick-quick, serviced my indeflate and it's been working 100% ever since!
Great work Ryan, super informative & good advice all round. Doesn't matter where we are (we're in Queensland Australia) or where you guys are, the prep must always be as you've advised. Really enjoy yourself, Edward & the other channels you work with. Thanks for this episode, really well thought through ✌️👌💪
Thank you Paul, it is really appreciated mate.
Awesome work on the upgrades Ryan! Did not realise your beast is only a year newer than mine haha. Good work keeping it maintained!!! Loving the upgrades and i definitely prefer the white over the grey. You bakkie looks mint!!! Would be keen to hear your thoughts on the One Nav Smart Mirror as im considering it for mine. I also had the one nav system in another car and had exactly the same experience as you, hence going a different route in my bakkie. But the mirror looks like a winner! What did you do with your old RTT? 🤔🤔 on brakes, have you got standard ford brakes? Having endless issues with my upgraded ones and thinking of going back to originals...anyways keep up the great work and awesome content!!!
Hi ABR, I did have the upgrade power brakes in the front but just the brake pads. Ummmm went back to standard. I would love to do the full brake upgrade to replace drums to discs at the back but cost is killer. Standard ones do the job mate, just keep them maintained, and if anything I’ve heard of replacing the brake fluid to a higher heat tolerance fluid. Racing spec brake fluid is said to be a solve? I sold my old RTT, loved it, but yeh, long story. The one X Mirror is great. Has a forward and back camera, with the front camera recording crash and or bumps. It does the job for me nicely legend. Thank you for your comment and support 🤟
@4x4ventures_southafrica will give the upgraded fluid a try. Someone said to me it's because of the lift I have. There's something on the diff that needs adjusting so the ABS "adjusts" to the lift. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ looking for a specialist to help... the guys I've been to have just lied about work done etc etc(one even said the disc's were installed the wrong way round) 🤦🏻♂️ anyways will give feedback once I work it out 😂🤣. Ill have to get the Smart Mirror but ill let you use it for a bit and ask you again in a couple of months haha! Anyways have a great evening! Thanks for responding!! Looking forward to the next vid on Zambia and Zim.
Hi Ryan, just love watching you guys, awesome content and a inspiration to us as a family doing the odd overland trip. Keep the content coming, more importantly keep safe and travel safe guys. Cheers.
Thanks guys and I’ll see you at the next adventure. Likewise, stay safe and travel well. Cheers
Great episode. Really enjoyed it and so well produced. The Ranger is looking good. I'm a Saffa in Queensland, Australia. One day when your channel is huge (which it will be), you have to organise a trip to Aus. The overlanding here is incredible! You can get your fill of remote tracks, beach driving and river crossings here.
Let’s keep fingers crossed legend, and yes, one day that will be my plan mate.
Hey Ryan ,
Daglous here watching from Seattle Washington.
What is that Long stick in from of the Truck
Tanks for your support, just started snowing here in JHB. Cold day mate. It is a vhf antennae for radio comms 🤙
I hate to be that guy but it’s spelled “a lot”. Great content. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Billy, and much appreciated. Absolutely shattered 😂 I’ll amend on the morrow mate, and appreciate your feedback
