The video starts out heading west on Superior avenue up underneath the R/R tressel and RTA's Superior st. Station. Just after that was a street(actually two) Hayden Av & Rozelle st. The white boarded up bldg was the old Room Lounge & Bar, ran by the Tucker Bros. The next street was Bender Av, where I grew up, then Lockwood Dr., Malbourne Dr., Caryon. The first street you turned was E.125 st., which divided East Cleveland from Cleveland. Back in the day between there and Lakeview was the Shabazz restaurant, Shrimp Boat, Star Bbq & Sister Rafael's restaurant. Forest Hills Dr. & Shopping plaza was directly behind the R/R tressel. This video brings back many memories.

I just subscribed to you and I really enjoy looking at your videos because I get to look at Cleveland but in this video off St Clair on east 117th I was driving down through there early morning just getting off work to go pick someone up and some guy randomly shot at my truck and the bullet enlarged in my rear door behind my seat thank God it didn't travel through cuz it would have hit my lower left side of my back and that was on Mother's Day early morning some years back

I heard that Goodyear of Akron is planning on resurfacing the streets of Forest Hill with that new rubber-road material. Seems like a just-in-time scenario.

You never went to Forest Hill. And the majority of the video is not East Cleveland, it's the east side of Cleveland.

He’s in Forest Hills. All he had to do was follow Eddy Rd out to the Shoreway. Everything between E.110th to Woodworth Railroad Bridge on St. Clair to the East Cleveland border is the Forest Hills neighborhood in Cleveland, which is between Glenville and North Collinwood

Inner ring suburb; pretty typical for American cities these days. Cle was an industrial powerhouse which grew a huge middle class, what you see are the fossils of past prosperity.....

Things were good while the city council ran things. However, the people voted to have a mayor (Mayor Pitman?), things begin to go down quickly and haven't been the same since. Plus as African American families started to move in, white moved out overnight.

@@theresapollard4774wonder why? Aggressive people moved in, drugs were abound, theft, you name it. Decent people didn’t want to live with that, so they didn’t have a choice but to move. Growing up in East Cleveland was the best time of my life. I have many fond memories.

Wow! Gas was only $2.60!! This is a prehistoric vid or there are some bennies to living in the ghetto. Next you will be suggesting there are some rundown neighborhoods in Detroit, Chicago, Buffalo, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC, Newark, Bronx, St Louis, KC, NOLA, Atlanta, etc, etc, etc. Shocking, dude.

Allegheny use to be a nice road , judging from a scene in the The Irish man when frank beat up the butcher . They walked on that road and it seemed pretty nice but the movie took place several decades ago

Not necessarily true. We moved in during the mid sixties. Drugs weren't the issue. People were being persuaded that their property values would decrease once people of color moved in. Reality One made a fortune buying cheap and selling high. They gave away huge homes to purchase smaller homes in Parma. Drugs and crime was not the issue back then
