"Johns" is a term for men who pay for prostitutes, so when "The Johns had no more use for him", it's because he was too old for the 'customers'.

Amos is my all time favorite character of any piece of fiction. Love that you girls also love his character and care about his development, because his arc is truly one of the most emotionally resonant stories that just hits me on such a deep personal level🥲

The storytelling of his background was so incredibly well done - there was more detail in the books but the way they showed it, there didn’t need to be…

I'm really hoping they adapt the final 3 books to TV eventually, primarily for Amos' story.
I mean everyone else has good stories too. But mostly for Timmy.

This episode adds a whole darker spin to the exchange between Amos and Avasarala where he's teaching her how to walk in mag-boots and she asks him how he knows what it's like to walk in pumps and he replies "I didn't always work in space".

There are so many of these lines, that Amos gives, through the first 4 seasons........easier to catch on a re-watch or in the books, its very dark.

Wow, it wasn't until this rewatch that I made the connection of what Lydia said to Timmy-about her not being righteous and wise, and asking him to imagine a version of her that is, so that he can listen (and how maybe that's enough for people like us)-and how it relates to [REDACTED TO AVOID SPOILERS]. The writing is so good!

They did a very good job with Baltimore in this episode. The scene where Amos was first seen in Baltimore was one long shot from a drone.

During that cabinet conference with Gao, one official mentioned there was a discrepancy in the accounts of the numbers of ships transiting the Ring. The Belters were counting fewer ships than Earth was sending.
Sauveterre was talking to the cadets about controlling a thousand planets.
I did think this sudden introduction of Avasarala's daughter Ashanti was strange. No, a daughter had not been mentioned before. A mother had never been mentioned, but Avasarala did at one point urge Arjun to "take the kids" to Luna. That would have been the time to say, "take Ashanti and the kids to Luna," but she didn't. There was no reason to think the kids' mother was dead...except that she was never mentioned when there was logical opportunity to mention her.
The term "johns" refers to the men who patronize prostitutes. The "johns" are the customers.

The show doesn't come out and say it, but Timmy and Lydia had a... not super healthy relationship. He was kind of her adopted child but also her lover.
Obviously the rest of their environment wasn't great either. Still, it does put in context how Amos has difficulties determining the right path. Also some trust issues.

      Spoilers!!
In the show, his ‘vibe’ stays mostly the same. But subtly, he goes from not trusting himself to be good at all (seen a lot in S1), to the exact opposite - *trusting himself enough to be a guide for someone else* (S6).
He has similar cool Amos moments in all seasons, but he does have a defined arc! It’s a poetic arc and is elegant in its simplicity imo

I wish they had the budget and technology to really show how Gravity is on the moon. the authors have a great description of Gravity on Luna in the book, that "gravity is less a force of nature and more of a suggestion". A perfect description. They go on to describe Chrisjen as just "willing" herself up out of a chair and she's standing up.
