I think that moving the Wogan show from weekend to three times week days was a mistake. It was probably part of a wider strategy or reaction against rival programming by the BBC, but it took Wogan out of his best broadcasting situation and spread him too thin and the dynamics of the show changed for the worse. There were few TV and radio personalities who could match him at his deceptively laid back and engaging best.
