      This is one reason I picked Prusa over everyone else, especially Bambu. Bambu's TOS actually allows them to terminate your account for any reason, given your printer serial number is tied to your account and offline firmware updates are not possible, if they terminate your account, you'll never be able to update the firmware again.

      I hope you can use Ethernet instead. Wifi is a lot of trouble for something that doesn't have to move around.

      ​@@Kastman82 You can disable Wi-Fi in the menu, and without the antenna, it won't be able to connect to anything anyway. Having the ESP soldered on the board is perfect for 95% of people, while having to manufacture a separate board without it would just be an unnecessary extra cost.
      The MK4 has its separate ESP module on the outside, but it's not exactly an elegant solution and potentially brings other issues with it.
      Lastly, all their printers come with Ethernet ports.

      That’s just his Pro mode as opposed the General Public mode. Even Jensen Huang has a Pro mode in which he swaps his leather jacket for a suit & tie dress up.

    Someone in marketing almost cleaned Joe up, but the man still looks more like a force of nature.
    On the other hand this looks like a serious solution in rapid prototyping and maybe even some specific small scale production of insulating brackets

      what the fuck...
      its like 5k€ MAX, and that is already super high for what you get...
      you could get like 3 V-Core 4.0 500 IDEX and make them high temp compatible and till have money left to get them built and configured...

      Guys, don't forget: we can all build capable machines for less. But for that we have to spend time and then we still don't have warranty and customer support. All industry cares about is reliability, speed and ease of use.

Prusa are good but they don’t offer enough features for industry to use other than basic prototypes but then again if that all they look for this is pretty good. If you want to use it for small batch production then not so much

      @@nebuchadnezzar47 That’s just not true. I saw the printer live in Prague last week (and mine is arriving soon) and for the quality you get (designed and built in EU), the kind of support and considering what the printer is capable of, it is definitely worth the money. Shure, it is not comparable with the other Prusa printers made for hobbyists and enthusiasts, but it is simply not made to be compared with them.
      Judging about a printer you have never seen live before and reducing the value by more than 50% is just not fair for everyone who worked hard to design and built this machine.
      As far as I know it is open source and entirely made in EU, built-quality is awesome, and it’s reliable and it works, that’s what counts these days.

      @@Baldavier In production environments, the Drywise dryers with the Pre-Heater are normally used.
      So I would say yes, to use a Drywise dryer should be no problem with this printer.

      It would be nicer to have the dry box either integrated, or able to be electrically connected. That way the printer can control and monitor the filament box’s temperature, and maybe also monitor the amount of filament left.

      I think Prusa is in a tight spot now. Bamboo labs printers are taking the consumer market like a storm and I seriously doubt this printer can compete with real professional 3D printers, which already established their brand on the workflow of many industries are more robust and have capabilities for high performance materials.

    I'm a Bambulab user, but I'm really happy to see that Prusa is always at the forefront of tech and not just like a lot of other Chinese companies that just try to imitate proper products. I'm speaking here about Ender, ELEGOO, Anycubic and so on.

      The original MK series prusa printers were modified RepRap printers, and practically all their printers are existing printer designs with some modifications. So isn't like Prusa is actually original.

    I had the luck to be in the HT90 production facility in Hradec Kralove and saw the prints. Guys - for those +- 7700 Euro Youll get amazing machine. I would really agree that its "Prusa of Engineering level"
    I was really amazed by prints from PPS material - they are completely on par with molded parts - they dont even break in layers but across them! And thin "neck" of 4x10mm was able to hold up to 250kg of load. Amazing materials.
    I am already preparing our company management for this expense, as it will pay for itself within few months (automotive industry). And to be honest - its not that super expensive, that it would be completely out of reach for personal use as well. When people can pay 2000 euro for a phone - value of this printer can be justified ...
    So my big thanks to whole Prusa (Trilab) team who achieved this. It is a bombshell! And as experienced print guy, i would put my hand into fire over this product - and I just saw a demo and their print farm! :D

      That makes no sense. The high temp parts they have shown are not even semi-cristalline so they suffer from isotropic properties

      Some other company is Kickstarting that right now, but with a CEO barely out of college. I would pay $1K over their asking price to get the same thing from Prusa and know the company that made it has been around continuously since the early days.

      @@__S__435 micronics is two college graduates and their professor, I would not trust them especially on safety. They show off that they started out in a college apartment, running a milling machine less that a metre from a bed with nowhere near enough adequate space around it, they even joke about how they got woken up by metal shavings in the bed. They basically used a college apartment as a workshop with machines that should only be used in workshops.
      Considering their lack of care with their own safety and the safety of others in the building, I would not trust them.

    Why are people getting bent out of shape over the price? It's a COMMERCIAL printer, not everything needs to be aimed at consumers, and not everything has to be priced to compete with cheap but popular knockoff brands.

    A new professional level delta 3D printer was definitely not at the top of my list of expectations for 2024 - but it makes very good sense! Today's processing power allows us to remove vibrations with adjustment for height, and there is nothing that beats delta kinematics for lateral speed and efficient stepper motion, and of course vertical motion can be near instant. We love the open build plate access that comes with the Prusa i3 design, and a deltabot can be even more accessible - from three sides.
    We can't wait to see all the things people do with these beastly machines!

    Well done Prusa. Can we get a version that is not for industrial printing, but for hobbyist. I love my FLSUN delta, but it’s the only choice out there. Something comparable could be great. Rather than release the design to open source, which Prusa has been leading, I’d prefer Prusa directly produced the version for the rest of us. I am tired of some folks ripping open source to create their business, with little to give back.

    My first printer build was a Kossel Mini and I have measured every print since by it's print quality way back in 2014. I moved on to larger print area with my most recent build being a 350 x 350 Voron 2.4, but I have no doubt a properly designed delta could surpass it's speed and print quality. I would love to see the Nextruder become available to purchase separately as it appears to be the best designs on market.

    While this printer is not for me as hobbyist, it is running on a Duet with klipper. I'm still hoping there will be a core XY from Prusa, maybe even inspired by opensource projects like Voron or Ratrig to eventually replace the bedslingers line.

      @@thediscman123 The MK series is also based on other opensource. The XL is a nice Core XY, on the expensive side but fills a niche as multi toolhead printer.

      in the yt channel strange parts they show a core xy prusa for 3d printing farms in development, the prints are not that tall but the automation part of the printer look very cool

    This is really awesome! It's a cheap and fast printer for high temp materials. The only complaint I would have is a small square build area (it's about 225x225mm if you want to print a square object). So, Pantheon HS3, which costs pretty much the same (well, depends where you live), is a much bigger printer that can reliably print engineering materials like CF/GF Nylons and CF/GF ABS/ASA. However, it might not be good for PEEK, and other high temp materials, where Prusa Pro HT90 will be the winner.

    I'd order one if it would have a filament changer. Printing PA12 without a support material is nightmare IMO. I hope this will the next level.

      They bought Trilab that made industrial delta printers almost four years ago. Not sure how this release can be a surprise to anyone..

    No drying chamber to keep the spool away from moisture will result to weak parts especially with ULTEM, PEEK and PEKK.

    interesting choice going with a Delta printer. Would thought they would go with a core system for speed and stability. My big Anycubic Delta worked great for a while but due to some inherent problems with Delta type printers would need a good amount of tinkering.

    We need a detailed accurate comparaison to a Flsun V400 .

      They are different printers for different uses, they just both happen to be delta printers. The V400 can only manage 300 C on the nozzle and 110 C on the bed with no chamber heater. This Prusa HT90 can manage 500 C on the nozzle, 155 C on the bed and 90 C actively heated chamber.
      The V400 is meant for the consumer market with relatively low end materials, like PLA and PETG. The HT90 is meant for engineering materials, nylon, PC, PEI, PEEK, etc. materials that you couldn’t print on a V400.
      The HT90 is also meant for companies or professional engineers, the V400 is meant for hobbyists, you can’t really compare them. If you are comparing them on how well they can print PLA or PETG you are missing the whole point of the HT90.

      First thank to have took the time to respond secondly I get that the Prusa Pro HT90 and the V400 are different beasts, especially in terms of price ^^ and certainly in term of features and capabilities like the interchangeable heads and this 500°C nozzle temperature and the wider range of printable materials .
      However, as an happy owner of the V400, I’m still interested in a comparison because
      Despite their differences, there are notable similarities. The V400 can print at speeds up to 600 mm/s and has a build volume of 300 x 300 x 410 mm, which is quite comparable to the HT90.
      Also, the HT90’s max acceleration of 20,000 mm/s² is impressive , V400’s performance is still quite similar to it ( in the speed and quality regard) for its price .
      What interest me is to explore what Prusa has done with their slicer approach i'm sure their innovations could provide valuable insights on how to optimize the use of my V400.( with i hope better slicing approach to delta fdm printer )
      There’s always something to learn from Prusa’s high-quality approach to 3D printing, and i hope their new printer could inspired the others fdm delta ecosystem.

    I have a question: How do you see your printer in comparison to the 22IDEX which costs roughly 50% more but offers the additional feature of being an Idex and also supporting non planar printing to a degree.

    Prusa entering the pro market was not on my bingo card for 2024. But super happy to see you did. I would love to see a professional open source IDEX printer between 3K-7K as well as a prosumer model as well for small-medium engineering/product development companies.

      It would be amazing to see a dual printhead machine on linear motors with an MMU/AMS system. That would highkey be game changing.
      The ability to just independently park a printhead and have it to do the whole purge and prime without affecting the main printhead.
      Also the fact you get higher accuracy and rigidty from the linear motors is amazing.
      The fast filament switching would let it be cheaper and compete with multi-head designs in speed lowkey.
      would be amazing to see from 3D printing.

    Why do people compare printers that will literally melt or burn their motors before continuing to print? This machine is designed to withstand heat, it is not a normal printer. The new Prusa is great for engineering materials, it is not for a pla bros.

      90 degrees inside the chamber and surely the motors of that industrial prusa can withstand more than 200 degrees, perhaps they are water cooled. What a normal domestic printer motor can withstand up to 100 degrees in operation in some cases of printers with good quality motors

      In a delta the motors for movement do not have to be in the chamber, and the extruded motor has its own cooling system (see the air hose)

      @@sasukedh i know, is was working for eos and voxeljet.. i don't know what to think of that printer. to me, fdm is not good for endproducts or usable parts at all.. sls or slm with pa2200 is the best process to me.. yeah could be watercooled but i guess they moved the motors out of the chamber.. not easy to handle 90°C in that chamber

      @@wildniscamper7276 Yes, it is very possible that they have removed the motors from the camera and used gimbals, for example, to move them. It also depends on the material that can be handled, although it is true that SLS laser casting is more optimal since the laser melts much better. The problem with SLS is that the pollution residue must be more difficult to handle and probably more toxic. The material they need is not as extreme as it should be and that's why taking an FDM route is quite plausible from the way I see it, I also have a small laboratory and I make printers and we test materials by the way.

    Just a warning to anyone out there that got excited about the idea of printing Peek. I have a fair amount of experience with high performance materials like peek and ultem for engineering applications, and I can tell you that a 90C chamber is just not hot enough. Even with a bed that gets that hot you're going to have a hard time making anything bigger than a benchy that has good layer adhesion and meet any real tolerance requirements. I agree those stats are perfect for ABS polycarbonate and HTN Nylon, and I'm probably going to get this printer but definitely not for peek or utlem.

    All the bambu bots in here complaining about price. This isn't a regular hobby printer that's designed to print only cheap hobby material like PLA, ASA, ABS, etc. It's an industrial printer designed to print industrial materials that 99% of hobby printer's cant do. Industrial materials like PEKK, PEEK, ULTEM require an industrial printer with very high temps. Printers that print these materials often cost more than $40k, sometimes even over $100k. Prusa out here doing it for just a fraction of that.
    Even a $2500 bambu X1E only has a 60c heated chamber. and 300c hotend. This has 90c chamber and 500c hotend.

      Actually, it is pretty expensive for what it is. It would be a steal if it was 5 years ago, but you can get more for less. I thought the price was good until i saw that there was no dual lifting nozzle system. Even the very first commercially available fdm 3d had that in the 90s. Also 90c is like the minimum for peek and I wouldn't even entertain printing ultem that low. 90C will give you perfect prints WITH ABS and PC, but nothing more. The Funmat pro 310 stomps all over this thing. Better specs and cheaper. I guess this is faster? But that speed means nothing if you have spend forever removing supports.

      @@fofopads4450Do you measure performance only based on speed ? I use this for engineering. I usually need a good tuned temperature (PID) and a solid structure. Speed is not a huge consideration as long as I can print Abs to 150-200 mm/s. I rarely need a something faster. In the case of the Mk4, it just doesn't give me value that justifies its price point in my opinion. No nozzle brush but it probes with the nozzle load (unreliable first layer), no PID routine, the enclosure comes with no abs or heat resistant parts replacement for the printer, it comes with no camera, no led light, the wifi printing interface is not polished or was closed to finish when I bought my machines. The thermistor had faulty reading on 4 units (it was solved thanks to their amazing customer service). The hotend has a very limited heating capacity, so for material that requires a good amount of heat (280C). I have to slowdown quite significantly because of that. The idler gets sloppy rapidly. I had to reprint it already for all 4 units.
      Don't get me wrong, they work. It's just that I have to do engineering, not tinkering... If I had to repurchase units for prototyping like I am doing, I would buy something else.

    Very exciting design, always loved the Delta printers with their more exotic kinematics. However, isn't 90 degree chamber temp a bit cold for PEEK? From what I've heard, especially in an industrial context, 140 degree+ would be more appropriate for such a demanding material.

      3DXTech recommends a 70 - 140 C chamber for their PEEK and filamentive recommends > 80 C, so whilst on the low end it should be enough, especially for small and medium sized parts.
      Higher temperatures are better though.

      @@conorstewart2214 Indeed, for small parts it will most likely be fine, but medium to large (I am thinking parts with much longer print times and weirder geometries) will become an issue (but that's just how 3dprinting is in general, eh?). Also you won't get optimal layer adhesion, which is a bigger problem because if you're using PEEK in the first place it's for its outstanding properties as a superpolymer. Just to be clear, I haven't personally printed PEEK (yet), I don't have a machine capable of that. Fartest I've gone is Carbon-nylon (which is still very fun). However, I do know people who print PEEK on a regular basis, so what I say mostly comes from what they said + my own research on the topic. And I still think this printer is a pretty impressive machine that has a big potential.

    As an engineer (3rd year student) one thing missing with these FDM printers is easy watertight/airtight parts and very occasionally resolution. It’s come up as an issue multiple times for me. Mostly the former. I think this could be solved without resorting to a resin printer by Prusa. One produce a highly accurate mini FDM printer within the existing machine. Something modular maybe. So like you change the nozzle on the Main machine but the xyz axis is different so it’s way more accurate, also maybe this would require a specialised filament they could charge a premium for that had very low thermal expansion. The second thing could be a separate post processing machine that basically intelligently melted the layers into a homogeneous surface automatically. I’ve tried this with a heat gun and and a blow torch and have ruined many parts, I usually end up option with coating the entire thing with epoxy resin and that’s annoying. I’m also aware you can make watertight and possibly airtight prints with certain setting but from what I’ve seen those techniques have draw backs and limitations and also require a lot of trial and error.

      I don't mean to offend you, but did you try any prusa printer? Because with mine (which is a FDM btw), I never had any issue making watertight parts. The settings are not complicated, it's just a matter of walls / infill. If you meant however an assembly of multiple part being watertight, again, It's a matter of tolerance, and prusa printers are really good at it. However I agree, there are lots of trial and errors, but the good thing is, once the setting is done, their machine are so well tuned workhorses, you'll end up with good result everytime.
      It's bit of a shame prusa is slowly leaving the consumer market. I'm glad for their success, but I'm sad we won't see any new affordable gems like the prusa mini in the future...

      No not really, the FLsun S1's temp rating are too low for printing with extra high temp materials like PEI and PEEK, which is basically what categorizes this printer as a true industrial printer.

    I do wonder why they didn’t opt for an IDEX. While the XL is a great toolchanger it definitely isn’t on an industrial level or capable of stuff like Nylon, PSU, Peek, ultem etc. An IDEX would allow use for things like dissolving supports to really maximize what engineers can do. By sticking to a single material you’re both using more of the costly materials and also restricting your models to those with manually removable supports or single material

    I have been working with 3D printers as a private and industrial user for the better half of my life now.
    Whilst this seems to be a pretty capable machine, I don't see the 11,5k€ they ask for this thing. So you got a fancy hotend cooler and a carbon filer. Nice. Welcome to what Voron pritners do for several years now. That's 3000€. Doing so in a delta printer is another 1000€. Let's be generous and make that 2000€ for the delta design.
    So that adds up to 5000€. Where are the other 6000€? On the, once again, exposed filament coathanger, that leaves your material out in the open?

      I don't see what makes this printer more capable of doing these high-performance filaments than a lot of the other printers claiming so and doing it very half-assed like the Funmat HT that has the same 90C chamber temp and a slightly hotter bed. It will come nowhere close to a proper high-temp printer (though it is ofc significantly cheaper)

      ​@@aronseptianto8142 I would actually say it is worse for PEI / Ultem. PEEK doesn't benefit as much being printed super hot as the main issue is crystallization, while an amorphous thermoplastic like Ultem really wants to be printed relatively close to tg.
      I have printed more than a few kilos of PEI on a proper high-temp printer (Minifactory Ultra) and we ran Ultem 1010 at around 215-220C bed & chamber temp to get the best performance. Ultem 9085 which is a PEI alloyed with PC and Siloxane polymers (IIRC) prints at a bit lower temperature, and we printed that at 170-175C bed & chamber temp.

      X1C doesn't have heated chamber, only X1E. This printer also costs $10,000. That being said, it is the first pro 3d printer at a reasonable price point, allowing exotic materials at a high speed. Amazing if you have the proper use case.

    Im sorry but Why do you have to select the voltage when ordering. This is an absolute no go for such a machine. It has to work reliably and decrease opportunities for user error.

      Personally, it's not bad at all. Integrated HEPA filter muffles turbine sound to quite tolerable hum. I would compare it with average AC unit.

    This is sorely missing the option to print soluble supports imo, being constrained by the same limitations as a budget FDM printer is disappointing.

      It allows for faster speeds because of the lower weight being moved, the downside is that it takes up more space for the same print area but in industrial applications it's not a deal breaker.
