Like how you explained that no 2 connectors are the same+can't mixed them up!! Wow+that extension for those 1 screws that were buried deep!! Great Job Sir!!
Great vid. Struggling to open mine ( volume control failed ) and after watching I just ordered a long reach T20 to get the rear screws out. Nice one !👍
Love your videos, this is one of my favorite channels on RUclips right now. Deciding it was ok to plug a vacuum cleaner charger into a prop lightsaber and almost setting the house on fire was a humbling experience in my electronics journey...
Hindsight's a great thing, after watching this I'd say you could probably have done it by only taking the speaker out and the fact they had the holder removable from the outside reinforces that, good shout on the security torx.
People often don’t realise that those connectors are used for a variety of voltages and current ratings so you can’t assume an alternative power supply will work just because the plug fits. You need to look at the voltage and current stated on the original and get one that’s the same.
@@xtender5 well there’s radios but also speakers, vacuum cleaners, leaf blowers, electric ratchets, coffee machines, chainsaws, lawn mowers, strimmers just to name a few things. In Japan they make a radio that’s got a 7” screen on it that you can watch digital tv on whilst on the job
Dean, I’ve got a 240v makita multi tool. It powers up fine but the no vibration, I think the gears have broken, how much would you charge to fix? Thanks
I have the opposite problem to this, radio works fine with power adapter but does nothing using battery. Ive relaced the little Jack PCB with a genuine Makita part but still not working . Any ideas please.
Anyone find a way to reduce the bass level on them great outdoors but when I'm working inside the big complaint is can you turn your radio down it's booming
You say they can keep them DAB etc.., but in time FM will not be available no more and it will al be DAB broadcast , overseas anyway ( maybe 2031 ? ) 😢😢😢😢😢😢

I love this radio
Today I learned that Makita sells radios. And that Dean can fix them....
You’re in for a shock when you realise all the other stuff they sell

@@BenEyah Wow that's awesome. Really trying hard to corner the worksite. :)
What weight Bosch grease should be used on the connectors? 😅 Good job, thanks for showing how easy a fix could be.

You can buy a complete head for 40 quid , it's pretty easy to change it.

Crackin job lad👍👍.Any chance of you fixing a couple of impactors for me Dean?
Was going to say to check that power unit for over voltage
That Makita radio would be a blast if it could recharge batteries.
They do make one, it just costs more than the regular radio and a couple of chargers
I have a metabo radio that won’t work off the battery but ok on 240v any idea what it could be
