Um, Kevin playing the cello and beat boxing at the same time! Wow, major props!
This is a difficult piece of music; I think they pulled it off just great. I like the little twist they put on arrangements to make it their own. One of my favorite groups.
That's a really good observation with them starting like the original and then switch to PTX version. They do this very often. It has been kind of their signature thing to do even back in the Sing-Off. Starting with as close to the original as you can get to show us that they can and also to give people the sense of familiarity. And then they go and put their own spin on it. And it can be just one small thing or it can be an element during theo whole song or it can be something bigger than that, but they always pay respect to the original with it too. They also have a sense for the kind of build up in the song and often they amplify the climax to add a little more punch to the arrangement. I love when they do that, because it's usually what makes me like their version more than the original. Like, that's exactly why I love their version of Come Along even though I don't really like the original.

Another PTX cover that is better than the original (I'd say about 95% of their covers are better than the original). Obviously I know better but there was a part of me that thought that Scott and Kirstie were going to make out at one point.
I really preferred this version. The Lady Gaga version, while slick and professional, seemed to be more like an ad for the movie. Pentatonix's version was more about"listen to us sing". Kirstin continues to get better and better. Great reaction!!!
Thanks for sharing your reaction. Now that Kirstin has performed on Broadway, I think Scott wants a shot. Kudos to him for wanting it. Another video they dropped recently is their cover of "Waving through a Window" from the Broadway musical Dear Mr. Evans. Could be like a Demo cover since its the only song Mitch has declared they would not be doing live.

Pentatonix formed around 2011 to compete in the reality TV show called "The sing-off" which they won......This show was aired in the fall of 2011 on NBC...

Songs like this are why I think Mitch fits better as a backup singer, rather then the lead. But not all. Gold is a good example of a song he should lead.
