5:14: That always gets me, when Kirsty is almost crying. She's so much into it emotionally. You can even hear it in her voice in the second part when it's breaking a little.
Kevin and his celloboxing is amazing to me. Seriously, how do you do that?! Kirsten's voice is amazing, and their harmonies are top notch. Great reaction.
Kevin began "celloboxing" many years ago. While in college he released a "RUclips" video of him celloboxing which was how Scott was able to find him to ask him to join the group as their beatboxer for the NBC show "The Sing-Off".
The black and white with touches of gold is supposed to echo the movie posters for A Star Is Born
Kevin does beatbox with the cello if needed. He calls it cello-boxing. Kevin has played at Carnegie Hall when he was in his early teens. He also plays the piano I believe. He is also multi lingual. Also graduated pre-med at Harvard. I think we can say he is very talented. Check out his channel sometime.

I'm not sure if Kevin plays the piano ( but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he did), but he does play the sax. His channel does show him using keyboard as well as cello, beatboxing and singing, looping all the sounds to create a song.
Truly a wonderful reaction - I like the surprise over Kevin as a cellist. I might suggest another very powerful lead for Kirsty and stunning cello work by Kevin on "Say Something.' Also for something much more fun listen to the "Radioactive' collaboration with the pronominal Lindsay Sterling on her wild violin. This was a great reaction.
You might like their collaborations with Lindsey Stirling, the dancing violinist. The have Radioactive, Papaoutai (French!) and Over The River.
That way you get violin, cello, Kevin's beatboxing and all the great voices.
Kevin is (IMO) a world-class cellist. I believe he came in 2nd in YoYo Ma's young cellist competition while he was in college, and he's had an appearance at Carnegie Hall playing the cello. He also had an appearance there playing the saxophone, so he's indeed multi-talented! If you want to see him "showing off" take a look at Down on Kevin's own RUclips channel.
The black-and-white filming with splashes of gold color is a nod to the original movie posters, which were all black-and-white with the only color being the gold lettering of the title, "A Star Is Born".
Hi Carmen. Stayed up very late to see what you were going to treat us with, and I wasn't disappointed. And don't stress, we love your reactions and waiting is never an issue. PTX copyright is a difficult minefield to navigate. You're doing great. Heck, we're grateful that you entertain us. Shallow is my fav song by this ultra-talented group, so thank you. Kevin is a classically trained cellist. And has played for Yo Yo Ma. Kevin was actually found on you tube by the group. He is known for his Cello Boxing.

I am so late to the party on this. You are the first reactor I have seen who is stirred by this song the very same way I am. That bridge, that bridge, I feel like my heart is swelling with joy when I listen to it! And you were being struck again and again by the beauitful lushness of their sound in this one. It's the very same for me, every time.
We all understand the blocked videos. Love that you included Avi as a bonus. Have heard that Pentatonix released a new holiday song off their album that releases on October 28th? It’s called Prayers for this world and then Scott released a solo song for the first time called Mars, it’s a beautiful song about his relationship with his fiancé Mark. Sorry for your upload frustration, and thank you for persevering! I enjoy hearing through your informed ears 😊. And, yes, Kevin IS a one-man band. Sometimes you can see the instruments. 😉 Wonderful turn from Scott, and amazing power from Kirsten. I always enjoy Mitch paired with Matt's (or Avi's) bass. I don't see any "Evolution of . . ." on your Pentatonix playlist. I believe reactors have less problems with those uploads. Go for "Evolution of Music" first. Happy journey!

@@CarmenReacts, a lot of reactors put an opaque screen or text over the video, since it's often the video that's blocked.
@@Gwennedd Yes I know the tricks, but it wasn’t the video, it was the audio this time, so that was a different kind of issue 😂

Mary, Did You Know is another song with a huge wall of sound, and btw, it’s not too early to start on PTX Christmas music. In fact if you don’t start soon you won’t have enough time to make a dent in it.
O Come All Ye Faithful, The First Noel, Silent Night, Mary Did You Know are favorites but there are no bad ones.
Im not sure if you know but Pentatonix just released a teaser called Joy to the World (album and tour announcement) also they rreleased a new song Prayers for this world. Scott also released a solo single xalled "Mars". Hope you react to these.

When PTX dropped Butter x dynamite even they had a hard time uploading the video.
I did miss your PTX reaction last week, but guessed it was a ridiculous label copyright/being blocked issue (soo frustrating and counter productive). We all understand, not your fault. Certainly appreciated the Avi reaction as a substitute.

You are not the only reactor to have extra trouble with the BTS cover. I think that BTS's label AND PTX's label both have rights to it. Thanks for trying.
It’s a little weird because BTS’s label doesn’t block my videos, just a normal copyright claim like the others while I have gotten blocks from PTX’s label before like with Hallelujah, but there wasn’t a specific label mentioned in the block this time, so it was pretty strange. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again 😊
