Your personal needs allowance is at $54 if your on SSI at an ALF. The issue that needs to be addressed is why this is not adjusted with COLA, since the items purchased by the resident with the $54 are also subject to inflation.
Completely agree....The personal needs allowance is in desperate need of being increased (if nothing else to keep up with inflation!).

I get 1591 for s.s. which ALF takes all and leaves me with $29 om on medicaid is tjis right am i intitled to more fot personsl need a haircut costs $21 dollard
In an ALF, unfortunately, there is a component of the bill that Medicaid does not pay. So sometimes - a medicaid waiver recipient’s income + what medicaid pays an ALF is still insufficient.
