    I wasn’t impressed with this dress when I first saw it, but your version, worn open at the throat and unbelted, looks so sophisticated and elegant that I am sold.

    I also, like frances, didn't think I would give this one a try. But......now I think I will. Thanks Whitney!

    What a perfect fabric choice for this dress! Both the print, color and style are so flattering. I like the simplicity of the elastic cuff.

    Love this dress on you Whitney 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. We are very similar shapes, but I look like a sack of spuds (potatoes) tied in the middle when I wear anything belted ☹️. I think I might give this pattern a try👍🏻 x

    I love this! Both the pattern and your creation. Your lovely dress reminds be of a retro 1970’s Diane von Frustenberg type dress. Very feminine, ladylike, classy and perfect. You look terrific in it. I snapped this pattern up right away.

    I love this!! Definitely wouldn’t add the belt. In fact, I feel the fabric belt would make the dress look “homemade” rather than “handmade”. I hope your temps warm up soon so you can wear this stunning garment.

    I didn't like the pattern when I saw it, but I DO love it on you: the way you have chosen your fabric, and wear it un-belted. It is such a flattering dress! Love the dress and it looks great on you. I followed your older tutorial on printing patterns at PDF Plotting. 3 of the patterns went very smoothly. One pattern is giving me a fit. I can’t seem to get it to print to correct size. On PDF plotting you can’t choose between color & black & white any more. It’s now $2.45 a page whether it’s color or black & white. They do give a % off according to how much you buy. Also take so much off shipping if you go over a certain amount. So it’s best to buy in bulk. The space in your room looks v

      You are right that PDF Plotting has changed their site a bit since I filmed that video. It definitely saves some money to print in bulk. Sorry about the potatoes!

    Lovely dress, I think the shirring would be great and also could you add a little bit of shaping at the waist instead of a belt? That might be more your daughter's style.

  • @lindamcgregor6585

    I love this dress. There was a time I would have had lots of these in my closet but now I would probably cut it off for a long top with slacks. The fabric is gorgeous. i am wondering if I need a rounded back most of the time what advice would you have with a raglan or is there another feature of this pattern that wouldn't make it necessary. I usually do 1" at center back. I can't sew as fast as you inspire us ;-)

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  10 месяцев назад +1

      There is a top version of this pattern as well and I can't wait to make it up as well! As far as a high round back adjustment, you can still do the adjustment on a raglan top. You will just make the adjustment on the center back piece and you can leave the sleeves alone!

    Nice! Do you get to pick the amount of fabric you get in the subscription box? I'm a larger girl and require more fabric to sew dresses.
