    Amy, I know you were in operations, but when the Raiders knew they were playing Gruden did not anyone in the building not think that since we had the same signals and plays as when Gruden was here, we should actually change them? That's a podcast episode there. How could that happen?

      Or tell Gannon to NOT look left and throw right every single play???

      Hey, we all know Barrett Robbins is going through hard time in life and we all hope he gets the help he needs. I know a good idea maybe some of his old Raider Teammates can reach out to Barrett Robbins to help him out. Guys like Rich Gannon, Tim Brown, Jerry Rice, Charles Woodson, Rod Woodson, Bill Romanowski, Sebastian Janikowski, Lincoln Kennedy, Jerry Porter or maybe his old coach Bill Callahan can reach out to Barrett Robbins and help him out. Question you think any of Barrett Robbins old Teammates or Coach will come through and help Barrett Robbins out?

    No time to really change the signals? They had the entire season! Callahan was a high school level coach that was their only problem. The guy was an all pro center you don't sit him in the Super Bowl you discipline him after the game.

      Bucs were too good that year. Raiders didnt have a chance with those old players

      Callahan changed game plan last minute as well. They were supposed to go run heavy because of the weight difference in the trenches. Brown and rice were pissed

    • @AbigailMcGarvey
      @AbigailMcGarvey 10 месяцев назад

      @@RG-uj7lw I know there's no way to go back in time, but that O-line with Barret was extremely good. If they had decided to follow through on the 'pound the rock' plan with Tyrone Wheatley, it's a much closer game (and maybe even a Raiders' win). The Bucs were very good on 'D' against the pass, but they were a lot smaller than the Raiders. Fun to imagine.

      @AbigailMcGarvey definitely, even rice and brown were flabbergasted when they received the new plan days before the superbowl. Imagine pound the ball and open the play action to brown, rice and a young jerry porter 😳😐

    I met Barret Robbin’s in a club in La in fall 2004. I was the only person who recognized him. Being a huge Raiders fan I was stoked. He said he was the number one sought after O lineman free agent. A couple months later he got into the altercation and was shot by police. Such a tragic story.

    Wasn’t he down in Tijuana while he was missing? That doesn’t sound like a medical emergency. I also remember football media saying I’m picking the team to win that we didn’t see out partying before the game. Going against your old coach or not. The Raiders shot themselves in the foot and switching the offensive game plan last minute didn’t help. That why Gannon threw a season worth of Int’s in one game

    If team management and the coaching staff had allowed Robbins to play, there would likely have been a number of players who walked out. I recall some really nasty comments from Raiders players after this incident. The team was between a rock and a hard place, but they made the right decision.

    I feel like the Bucs defense doesn't get the credit it deserves (which is an odd thing to say given the stats of the game). Yes, Gruden was the head coach and Robbins got sat. But the Bucs defense was the best in the league that season, and had been one of the best defenses in the league for at least 5 years at this point under D-coordinator Monte Kiffin.

    • @jonathanramos8414
      @jonathanramos8414 6 месяцев назад

      All gruden did was take tony dungys bucs to a super bowl win. That's it. How come he never won anything else after that? Remember they played again in the 2004 season. They almost had the same team but the raiders ran the ball down tampas throat in that game. Granted Sapp and lynch were gone. But that tells me if Callahan would have stuck with a running game the raiders could have made it a much closer game instead of making gannon throw it into that Tampa secondary

    • @jonathanramos8414

    Amy, your recent comments on football operations are ruining your reputation. You know Al could have overruled Allen and Callahan if he disagreed with them. Barrett, despite being in the middle of a psychiatric emergency, was also probably under the influence of who knows what. That was the only right call Callahan made. Not changing the play calls was the real criminal offense here.

    I wish Amy could supplant Mark Davis as president of football operations. She'd look over AP's resume, see 18 months of linebacker coaching, smokes cigars and wore a Raider hat once and say "Does this seriously qualify you to take over one of the pillar franchises of the NFL?"

      Since AP took over, Raiders rank first in points allowed per game (15.9), 1st in defensive touchdowns (4), and FEWEST penalties (24), also 3rd in sacks (30) and 10th in takeaways (14). Which is all significantly better than the previous $60M HC.
