@ not really it’s still wacky sometimes and has a mind of its own everyday , i still have have to play its games to make it look like it works seamlessly. like if im in apple music and go to youtube its so difficult you have to do it a certain way each time and i had to learn my self lol if someone came into my car for the first time and you have to do it the first time you’ll get a headache over the bluetooth i think its because the phone is so new and the car is a 2014 idk

My update on my 2016 2 Series quits, right at 50% everytime. Tells me to come back later, like iDrive is busy doing it's taxes or something. I've formatted the disk to FAT32 and placed the file at the root directory of the flash drive, so I don't think that's messing it up. Have you heard of/had similar experiences? Any tips?

Do you have the M Performance Carbon rear splitter fitted to the car? It plays havoc with the proximity sensor if your car is fitted with comfort access. The fix, in this situation, is to disable the sensor in the coding. Appreciate you’ve probably fixed it now as you commented 6 months ago, but hopefully this may help someone else.

So there is no way to software update your way to Apple CarPlay. It would have to be a Car Play enabled car from the factory or you would need to retrofit a OEM CarPlay into the car.

Double check your external device settings in iDrive. It's not very intuitive, when I had my 2012 335is I ran into the same issue and then realized I had to select my phone in external devices. This update won't be able to fix this for you unfortunately. Thank you for supporting my channel!

Hey Steve, I have not had this happen in my M4 but this was something I experienced in my 2012 335is from time to time. It seemed to happen when the interior of the car was very hot after sitting outside in the summer months. I used to just reset the unit and it would take care of it for a few weeks. I don't think you can unless you upgrade the entire head iDrive system to the newer versions.

No this will not add Apple Carplay. Bimmer-Tech has a way of adding it to the later cars.

Restore software, then try uploading it again?
I would try and restore and load it in again however they may be entirely unrelated.

No I don't believe it will add that function to the CarPlay setup.
