It’s pretty obvious that Rachel is the reason why there’s no Bach return. Still need the classic lineup with affuso and Bach back for it to be skid row
First time I saw Skid Row was opening for Bon Jovi on the New Jersey tour (over two nights in my city). They were incredibly tight - I mean INCREDIBLY. TIGHT...I was very impressed with them live. I distinctly remember telling a friend going to the 2nd night "wait until you see Skid Row, they were amazing live". This was in Portland, OR, where Bon Jovi filmed the "Lay Your Hands on Me" video at the Memorial Coliseum. I'm in the video :) I also remember later on some girl called into our local rock radio station KUFO (101.1) and had claimed to give Rachel a BJ during that stop on the tour. So there's my Skid Row Portland stories, lol.

Wow, what a fantastic interview- I’ve seen so many bands of that era except Skid Row.. the night I was supposed to see them Johnny Solinger’s wife gave birth and they cancelled
Whats this dude talking about? Is he even in Skid row? Everyone knows Sebastian Bach wtote all the first and second album in the bathroom at chucky bros hamburger in 35 minutes after just meeting the other band members and came out of that bathroom with a glowing back light holding both albums fully written, recorded and mixed ready to ship!
Man, the assholiness of Bach must be weapons grade for these guys to not want to cash that check. But I'll give them all the credit in the world for not just going for the quick buck and putting 'happiness ' over 'coin'. It's pretty refreshing actually.
I used to agree with everyone who wanted to see them reunite with SB - but to be honest, Sebastian has had his day. He doesn't look good or - more importantly - sound good anymore. There's no point. He no longer looks or sounds like a superstar.
This one was a normal interview, nothing to special or insightful about it. Yet, as always I really appreciate all the work you put into your channel. Thanks for what you do!
I couldn't agree more Rachel you guys made an awesome choice with Eric he fits perfect and he's a bad ass just like the rest of you I love the new singles I've heard from the new album tear it down rocks
It is pathetic he is acting like a little school girl about that topic. Grow up, be a man, avoiding the pink elephant in the room looks really crazy. Baz has the wonderful voice and is a chick magnet, so we made boom. Will he die on the spot to admit that? Jeeeze.
Why would he talk about a guy he fired like 26 years ago, cause Bach tried really hard to destroy Skid Row.. Whats there to talk about? Everyone knows the story, why keep rehashing it? Bach really hurt this band over and over again, its like leaving an abuser, once you're gone and made peace with that, and picked up the broken pieces and finally found happiness why go back to that or even go back to talking about that abuser? Same thing.
back when i was an impressionable teen in 1994-1998, sebastian could do no wrong in my book. the guy flew the flag for rock and i was always praying for a skid row reunion. i didn't hate the solinger albums, but i just held out hope as long as i could. i have seen bach play several times (most notably the two stints opening for gnr in the late 2000's) and thought he was alright. after hearing snake talk about how quickly reunion talks went downhill because of bach's behavior (without even being on the phone together), and seeing how childish a guy in his 50's still acts (dragging on skid row and erik), it has really diminished my opinion of bach. do i think skid row will ever reunite? maybe. i don't think it would do the business that it might have 10 years ago if they had. i don't think they would play any bigger places than they do now. i don't think a band like GNR would take them out, as they don't seem all that interested in taking bands of the genre out with them now. So i don't see much of a reason to go out and be unhappy. bach wants it...but lets be honest, i don't think the product would be as good as the product you get with erik in the band.
I'm gonna be honest. Until Eric after Bas left I just put MY FAVE band on the shelf. Without that voice I can't ENJOY that band. Until a young guy who LOVED to sing those songs as effortlessly as Sebastian came along. NOPE!! Until Eric. FINALLY. So ready too see them.
Afraid to speak the name…. He seems like a really cool guy though. I’d love a reunion by SkidRow seems to be in a good place and seem to be satisfied with their careers. A huge fan regardless but seeing the success of Poison/Motley Crue/Def Leppard thing, a fan can hope…
A bunch of people keep asking why he doesn’t mention Bach. Why would he when we all know they can’t stand each other? Bach played a free show the same night Skid Row played Vegas just try to hurt their attendance. Somehow people are surprised he doesn’t want to talk about him?? I guarantee you watch a Bach interview and there’s not much (ANY) mention of Rachel Bolan!! They have a new singer that they love (he’s fantastic). They’re probably being respectful to him too. Also…Bach USED to be great, one of the best. Now he’s a weird looking, over weight, washed up old rocker who gets in fights with fans on twitter. You didn’t see the Van Halen guys rushing to talk about David Lee Roth for many years until they had to again. Just normal shit between broken up band members. Why is anyone surprised?
They had talent but they never would have gotten to where they did without Sebastian. He sold it. He had the charisma. Its sad they are so jealous of him and don't embrace him. Everyone has flaws.
Then why Baz not filling arenas anymore? He’s solo albums are just average. Remember Snake and Rachel wrote everything not Baz without skid row he would be where he is now. He’s cashing inn money in clubs still singing skid row songs why he’s not released another solo album? Cuz he said himself he sucks at it.
@@tibord72 Baz and Skid Row both live off of the first two albums and that alone. Neither will fill an arena anymore let alone even if they reunited, the interest has long faded away. Skid Row is a cover band of themselves and even with a new album and a decent singer nobody really cares about them anymore. Baz and Skid Row will make whatever money they can playing smaller venues. Sorry to say, Sebastian will always be the bigger draw and that's just the way it is as much as it drives Snake and Rachael crazy. Nobody really goes to see a band just to see the rhythm guitar and bass player perform.
I really really tried not to like these guys cause when they were huge i was in my anti hair band punk phase . I expected this interview to be filled with " dude bro man " colorful quips but Rachel was so "every man " and genuine you can't help but wish them well ! btw the bass on Time Bomb kicks like a mule !!!
Skid Row could have been huge if: they came out in the early 80s instead of almost 1990 (grunge ruined it all) and if Baz did not have such an ego and act the way he did. I can't say I blame him....tall, good-looking, a voice from God.......but he let it go too far. Ego is a fine line for a frontman. You need it, but not overdosed. For those who wonder why can't the band just reunite, you have not heard Snake's interviews on the subject. I would not reunite either. Especially since
It’s funny to hear him say “ me and snake know what each other’s strengths are and he’s the king of the first line etc...Then Snake gives an interview and says, we don’t have a songwriting process! And the most F’d up thing is, NEITHER will ever give Baz an ounce of credit! Still kissing the Jersey royalty ( Jovi ) ass!
Great interview,as it is very noticeable upon how Rachel Bolan never brings mentions to mentioning Sebastian Bach or their time with him(knowing how Rachel strongly resides against Seb).
It's so funny how noticeable it is, there's something not right about that. Maybe if Baz wasn't that good or he was just an average frontman I could maybe understand not mentioning him all that much, the thing is some people think Baz is one of the best frontman there was. Even if not everyone feels that way, I think most would agree at the very least Sebastian was way above average. I'm not so sure SR would have been as successful had someone else been the lead singer, it did seem like back in the heyday that lead singers were plentiful. Maybe so but, finding one that had every one of the boxes checked is near impossible until they found Baz.
@@irocitZ Good points. And I agree, I mean, we get it, it's well past over but jeez, at least acknowledge the guy and his stellar vocal ability for playing such a crucial role in the early success of the band. O Erick é ótimo! Mas a voz do Skid Row é o Sebastian. É uma lástima eles não se reconciliarem por bobagens de quando eram jovens. Não tenho mais esperanças de vê los juntos. É uma pena !
I know they don’t get on but it’s strange that he can’t even or won’t even mention Sebastian even though there must have been good times for a while. Cause it’s part of the past anyway. Also on a side not rob affuso never gets mentioned lol what’s his back story and why did he not rejoin?
That's his stage name. His birth name is James Southworth. He came up with his stage name by combining his brother's first name (Richard) with his grandfather's name (Manuel), then taking Marc Bolan's (of T Rex) last name.
I completely agree Bach never sang in key. He was a wildman live, but he was like DLR that way, more about the show and energy than singing those songs in key. Erik is the complete package. In 2022 I'll take an Erik Skid Row over a Bach skid Row thousand times over.
That's an idiotic statement. Not only was Sebastian one of the greatest singers in metal history he was a star. Erik is a great singer but he's not Bas. He's the Kid that looked up to the star. Learn your history before opening your mouth
@@beyondbeleef1013 who you talking to? If you're talking to me, um.. I was in high school when SR came out and I bought the debut album as soon as it hit our music store, been a fan ever since, also was a music journalist for a time. Also worked w/ bands, and saw a lot of this stuff up close. What people seem to be like on TV isn't always how they really are. Bach was great on tape. Not so much live when it came to actual vocals. Never sang consistently in key, matter of fact he was more consistently out of key. His energy that's what I think of when I hear the name Bach w/ Skid Row. That and of course all the legal problems he kept getting himself into. Erik sure he was a fan, whats wrong w/ that? At least we know with Erik he's going to go out and give it his all every night, he actually sings every song in key, and has good energy, very professional, approachable, humble and no ego at all. He's the Bach we all wish we could have had. People seem to forget Bach is the one that tried to destroy Skid Row and nearly did. Learn your history before opening your mouth.

I know they don’t get on but it’s strange that he can’t even or won’t even mention Sebastian even though there must have been good times for a while. Cause it’s part of the past anyway. Also on a side not rob affuso never gets mentioned lol what’s his back story and why did he not rejoin?
He said he would never rejoin without Sebastian.
I liked Slave to the Grind more than the first one. It was dirtier and heavier with more attitude.
Who names their son Rachel?
That's his stage name. His birth name is James Southworth.
He came up with his stage name by combining his brother's first name (Richard) with his grandfather's name (Manuel), then taking Marc Bolan's (of T Rex) last name.
@@thedude4672 As much as he hates to admit it, it was glam metal days, and he chose a girl’s stage name.
@@thedude4672 Was his grandfather Richard Manuel from 1970s group The Band ?
Erik is fantastic singer and showman, way more consistant and in-tune than Sebastian ever was.
Sorry, but you just voted for the Van Hagar version of Skid Row...NO one beats the bad-assery of Sabastian. (Sp)
Doing drugs again?
I like the guys...and dont care for the band...
Everyone wants the Bas references … people want what they want n are selfish , we all want tht reunion… however it’s those guys that are stuck w him for the next year or so day in and out show after show … he was one of the greatest singers period … but like a 15 ur old trapped in an adults body as time moves on…. N u get a pass as a young guy w that BUT u reach ur 30s n 40s now 50s n it becomes a glaring , uh ok something’s not right here and hasn’t been for a very long time .
I don’t care about a reunion, but how does he give a history of the band’s origin and early success and omit the #1 factor in their breakthrough.
@@whamsie4022 idk I guess after all the threats n nonsense over the years he jus absolutely hates to utter his name … or he jus avoids totally opening that door … but u can’t erase the fact he’s what got um there
😆 u don't say
I know its his band but im not sure what hes talking about because Slave to the Grind is just as good of a tecord ad the first one just a different record! Without change there can be no growth.
Slave to grind is better than first album
