    Fantastic!! For once someone who doesn’t make a formula 1 race out of this wonderful piece of music! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

    Marvellous and wonderful to have the score to follow.

    Such clarity. Outstanding playing. This piece deserves more performance than it often gets. It is usually eclipsed (unjustly) by other finales.

    Ich tippe auf 4‘ scharf mit Quinte 2 2/3 könnte aber auch zimbelstern Register sein das es so hell und glitzernd klingen lässt. Großartig 👏

      It basically is, as there's a version of the whole sonata as a symphony itself.

    Really wonderfully recorded, played and registrated! Hope you will bring out all the Guilmant sonatas on (SA)CD sometime! Your recordings bring out some style connection with Mendelssohn. It has lots of subtle nuance!

    Bravo! Eine wirklich hervorragende Interpretation.
    Ich vermute eine Zimbel, die etwas herraussticht, an einigen wenigen Stellen hört es sich dadurch nicht mehr so schön brillant an wie der Rest. Alles in allem: sehr schöne Interpretation.

      Nein, eine Zimbel ist das nicht, die würde ich auch nie für Guilmant nehmen. Es sind einige Töne der tiefen Hauptwerksmixtur, die etwas herausstechen. Die hohen Frequenzen verlieren im Raum mit zunehmendem Abstand deutlich an Intensität. Ein größerer Mikrofonabstand hätte aber ein unklareres, verhallteres Klangbild zur Folge.

      I would respectfully disagree. In such a live room there should be more detachment. But his playing was superb. The 32' reed on the last chord was the way God intended!

    "fatfinger" at 7:45? (back it up to 7:39 to set it up)

    @deaconpaulsandersonocds4103 7 лет назад +2

    Excellent. I have only one question. How do you play the last chord on the pedals? I only have two feet.

    • @BernhardSchneider1309
      @BernhardSchneider1309  7 лет назад +8

      I play the deep D with the left foot, the upper D with the heel and f sharp with the tip of the right foot.

    • @davidjames1684
      @davidjames1684 5 лет назад +14

      Don't you run the risk of cutting your foot if that f is sharp?
