I would respectfully disagree. In such a live room there should be more detachment. But his playing was superb. The 32' reed on the last chord was the way God intended!
Really wonderfully recorded, played and registrated! Hope you will bring out all the Guilmant sonatas on (SA)CD sometime! Your recordings bring out some style connection with Mendelssohn. It has lots of subtle nuance!
Bravo! Alles in allem: sehr schöne Interpretation.
Woahhh, I am impressed by what great this music is!! I expected it to be like of that other modern dumb ass organ writer of "symphonies", you know. That's a pleasan surprise, thank you
Fantastic!! For once someone who doesn’t make a formula 1 race out of this wonderful piece of music! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Absolutely 🎯
And it is still demanding!!!
Yes it is, that's why I like it so much.@14reger
such great sensitivity and control... and he plays with LOTS of drama and personality!
Such clarity. Outstanding playing. This piece deserves more performance than it often gets. It is usually eclipsed (unjustly) by other finales.
Marvellous and wonderful to have the score to follow.
Wow. I really love it. What a beautiful piece, very well played. Thanks!
Splendid and majestic, just as it should be.
like your tempo. not frenetic. clean, musical playing. Sehr gut!
Que lindo y que nitidez , brillante,gracias.
Clearing my soul
Definitely going to ask the organist at my parish to play this for the postlude after mass.

i like that toccata and fugue cameo on the lower keys
Sumamente Maravilloso!!!
THANK YOU for the music sheets that goes with it!!!
Really breathtaking
It's totally like a symphony!!
It basically is, as there's a version of the whole sonata as a symphony itself.
Divine!
Nice legato playing!

Bravo
Excellent. I have only one question. How do you play the last chord on the pedals? I only have two feet.
I play the deep D with the left foot, the upper D with the heel and f sharp with the tip of the right foot.
Don't you run the risk of cutting your foot if that f is sharp?

"fatfinger" at 7:45? (back it up to 7:39 to set it up)

Triple pedal?!?
I think the right foot plays two notes at the same time.
Wow!

It should be played faster, the indicated tempo is 120

Bit too slow but well played none the less
Everyone else plays it to fast. In such a live acoustic room it simply cannot be rushed.
@@dleimkuehler Yes, in the time since I posted that comment I must say my opinion has changed.
It's too grand to be played fast
