I just picked one of these up for 5$.... I can say for that price it's very pleasing....omg I didn't realize how lucky I was when I got it. Didn't use RTA. Guy at a vape shop showed me, and I have a more updated arbiter2 Now I like RTAs. Good review. Thorough!
I used much smaller coils in mine because of the size. I'm glad I did cause its my first time building and RTA. with the small space inside for the cotton and everything, juice consumption, the smaller coils even out and it's still sweet and flavorful.
Hands down this is the best vape channel on YT....I can't stand rap music but I can deal with it for a minute if I focus on the building lol

I have this rta and I absolutely love it. I also have the dot mod petri I like this one better. Different strokes. Do wish it had a different drip tip. I heard they were possibly coming out with different one's. It's meant to be a flavor tank.
Your juice holes line up with the openings. Mine are slightly below and that's weirding me out lol. Good review, and I love the real up close shots.

I had high hopes for this one. Not that my hopes are diminished, but I expected maybe a little bit better/more, in the sense if practicality. Like a little bigger post holes, a little more wicking room, and possibly different top cap options. Still a beautiful RTA. Very Petri-esque.

Solid review glad to see the originators of dotmod are back at it. If I really wanted a petri I'd probably pick this one up instead.

yeah its actually a 20mm build deck but its super small not a lot of room.

Love this one and I hear they're coming out with sub ohm stock coil heads for it so I love how they made the build deck removable and the camber separate from the chimney to let them do that.
I ain't a huge fan of sub ohm tanks no more but here's to hoping they come out with different decks :)

Good review mate, I gotta say you looked pretty underwhelmed by that atty and tried hard to like it more than you did lol. I thought you did a great job. If you happen to have them in, how about a shootout between the Supreme V2 (one of my all time favourites right now) vs Bellus V2 (on the way) vs Boreas V2. That would be an awesome video.

It's worth the money all day. RTAs are my specialty lol. I like mine alot .
The Wake comes in blue too. It is a great price point but I'm just not sure about the RTA. It's coming out at the exact same time as the Augvape Boreas v2 at about the same price and the Boreas looks to be superior in every way. It's a side airflow guy like an Aromamizer so it's not exactly the same but it's same price, same size and similar in look. I think I'm going with the Augvape.

Nice review but you didn't know and you didn't mention that the deck unscrews because it's a versatile rta and it takes its own 0.5 premade coils as well because it's compatible with the Wake sub ohm tank and even the deck is interchangeable which is cool!!!

the holes are only on the negative side because that's the ground side. if it was on the positive side, the battery would short

in another review it's mentioned that the wicking method is HUGE for influence on flavour with this tank. maybe your ranking would shift over time with a change of wicking style on that front.
Like that you painted the wicks down IV been doing that to the moon shot people hated that rta but do that it works great wasp nano rta paint them wicks lol

Thanks for the really good detailed review. I don't think the small deck and fussy wicking is for me. The Reload a fine balance for wicking too? I hate that. What tanks are actually easy to wick - just a cut the and tuck like an RDA?

lol nope i have been using this camera for a while now but it is fairly new. less then a year new lol and a new lens! thats a few months old
I just got this and the barrel for wicking wasn't cut out big enough and only have half the wicking area then what I'm suppose to. A friend just got one and has the Same exact problem!
The reason the deck is removable is because there will be a sub ohm tank version. I saw RubyRoo talking about it on her vlog. Guess wake wanted to make it interchangeable
yeah well its small either way i think they need to make it bigger. this has been done before also but it does perform well

James and Ileigha who started dotmod, have now started wake after they were forced out of dotmod, thats why this is very similar to the petri rtas
yes i know that and i stated that but that doesnt make sense to make another rta that is identicle to the other on the market. make something new. they are very good at that! they started dotmod
What better way to give the middle finger to dotmod than making a better version of the Petri rta for half the price? It's essentially the Petri v3. I got triple 26g aliens in those holes EASY, by the way.
Have you noticed any differences using the N90 coils as opposed to N80
yes they are softer at first then they vape pretty good. i need to try them in another rda
3fvape has em for 28 bones, I'm thinking of grabbing one for the price
Another great video. Looks like a nice vape, but too many deal breakers for me, small deck, tiny holes, goofy female drip tip, ugly frosted tip, too much gold showing and silly wick ring.

well if they designed that and one is out why not make something different? ppl dont really care who makes what sometimes they just want something new and innovative. vs making it because someone stole it from me you know? i just wish it was different and i think consumers do too

Also my RELOAD RTA gold plating on the deck where the wicks go is really starting to wear off as in rub off looking! I notice there is 2 types of gold p,acting .. electroplated gold plating like the reload rta and some others where it's more of a dull color and not shiners and the other type is like what vandy vape uses or this wake rta .. where it's a layer and can chip... the reload rta can't chip but it's rubbing off .... That's not cool man and it's like where is it going into my cotton and I'm vaping gold plating!?!? ... anyone else having this issue with the gold plating rubbing off on reload rta on the deck?

I need a good RTA! This looks very similar to the Petri RTA by Dot Mod. You would think they would change the design especially cause its under a new company from them.

You kept calling it a drip tip. It isn't a 510 or an 810 or a drip tip at all. It's a sleeve that goes over the drip tip / mouth piece. It's a drip tip sleeve. Ya feel me? lol

Why wouldn't they plate the grub screws also, makes no sense to me to Plate everything except for the grub screws, the most important part besides the 510 pin for conductivity why bother plating the deck makes no sense. I don't understand why you just didn't come out and say it's a clone of the Petrie. I think it's pretty obvious.

If it's identical to the Petri for $40, it's already better than the Reload. Reload is the most overrated RTA of all time. Side airflow kills the flavor.
while we are on this critique... AV... why do you insist on saying "goons"?. didnt Kennedy and AV Lyfe come out with 810 drip tips/caps first? im just saying man...the goon rda came way later. its not proprietary 528 customs. i really dont care what you do or say...that just sticks out to me when i watch your reviews.

Not impressed with the design. Proprietary driptip, awkward ring with wicking holes without purpose, strange bin engravings inside, 510 pin, clear orings, etc...

If they used Delrin to keep the cost supposedly down that is a joke! If clones for 10$ can afford peak there is absolutely no reason a $40 rta can't use peak! That is a rip off and disgusting how anything to make more money! It has nothing to do with keeping the price down for us! It has to do with being cheap and selling high and making more profit off the back of the DOTMOD Name !!! and again even a 10$ clone comes with coils yet they COULdnt toss in some fused Claptons or something for $40! It's a Chinese made rta with a production cost of less than $5 and it's not like a lot of money was spent on innovation and that's why it's $40 .... it's basically a petri rta and they made it cheaper with cheaper materials and charge $40 off the back of the DOTMOD name .... this industry is and has been steadily becoming all about the money .... USA companies producing china made products and charging a premium! Cutting corners when they can to squeeze another $1 out of any where they can like using Delrin instead of peak! They'd rather have someone have a accident or melt there rta than make a good solid product .., and another thing is the proprietary drip tips ... disgusting man!
MechanicalMonkey84 it's actually ceramic. I believe which I would think costs more than peek considering my ceramic crown cost $1500 lol
