In the past we’ve took the windshield out and drilled the vin rivets out and re rivet the new”old” vin that you have a title to on that cab a lot easier than cutting and welding the roof,dmv doesn’t like this method but what they don’t know wont hurt
Hey bro. I have built. Restored. a Modified over 25 of those truck. Look at your frames again. lookmclosely. Youll find they are the same. All the holes for the 4x4 are in both frames. You done and youre still doing great. I makes me proud that someone of your age is not afraid to tackle such a big job yourself.

Don't grind the spot welds get you a spot weld drill bit. You will thank yourself trust me. Why not just swap over your Vin plate??? You can get the rivets to reinstall it piece of cake..

Harbor freight has a 12,000# winch for around 300$. It would make your life way easier loading and unloading the truck.
Straight Axel the two-wheel drive and look for a cab that has a title and if it's junk use for that

For the dash I just used a window bracket and used double sided tape
