- I've had the OnePlus 12 for about 2 months now, and up until this point, my go-to Android phone has been the S24 Ultra. It's just a darn near perfect phone, BUT it's a little pricey for some of you out there. In comes the OnePlus 12, starting at $899, still expensive but nowhere near as high as the $1200 or so you might spend on an Ultra, and it has the features and build to compete with that phone.

Got the OnePlus 12 last month. Absolutely stunning device. Took a lot of contemplation before I agreed to dump my old S10+ for OnePlus

What kind of battery timings are you getting ?

@@V0ayger I get about 9 with my usage. Screen is LTPO, goes all the way down to 1Hz if not used and SD 8gen3 is super efficient with battery when not pushed to the limits.

I LOVE mine. I traded my s23 ultra for the OnePlus 12 and could not be happier with it. I was not that impressed with the 23 ultra camera considering how expensive that phone is, and actually find the OnePlus 12 camera to be very solid and perfectly adequate and have been really happy with the pictures I have been taking with it. Especially considering how much more affordable this phone is.
The camera on Samsung phones is kinda meh.
You find the photos on the OP12 to be better than the S3 ultra?

@@MrJackTR I find the OnePlus photos to be solid and I've been happy with them. Considering how expensive the s23U is, I do not find the camera on the ultra to be as good as one would expect. The OnePlus on the other hand has a great camera for its pricing. And I do think the OnePlus is on par with the ultra in every other way. Also more handleable.

I think this is a very practical and spot on review. I've been using OP12 for about 2 months and couldnt be happier. It truly is a phone that is fully worth the money you pay for it (Always remember the price you're paying VS the flagship you're comparing it to!) The camera is as good as you want it to be, you can leave it photo mode and get good shots 90% of the time (gets better with time spent with the camera app and getting familiar with all the bells and whistles) AND you can squeeze some really good shots out of it in master mode if you want to and have the time. The UI is awesome IMO... It just works for me. I LOVE the alert slider, the display, the speakers all are winners!! And then you get the battery which is crazy good, and the charger (GOD level charging speed) + cable + phone case in box!! Remember the price. All in all, this is an awesome phone for a really REALLY good price which ticks all the boxes in my requirement list. GO for it, you wont be sorry.

I've owned my OnePlus 12 as a pre-order and am blown away by how good this is for the money spent. I owned a OnePlus 8 pro prior to this and it served me well but was at the end of its update life. After watching early reviews of the 12, I knew it was the one to get. Battery life is amazing. I don't live on my phone but I can say that compared to the 8 pro, the battery is two to three times longer lasting. The fast charge is great. I happen to like the curved glass and it seems whining about it is pointless since most people put it in a case and all complaints are baseless after that. I like the ability to use the finger print reader with slightly wet fingers as this was impossible to use on the 8 pro. I think the camera is great for the every day user and comments about the camera are mostly baseless considering you are spenting less than $900 for a phone. You get what you pay for and if you think your phone is supposed to be a camera, then pay for that misguided need! I highly recommend this to people who need speed, space on the storage, great screen, amazing battery life, and overall doing it on a budget. If you want to be a snob, then pay the outrageous prices for the others and get what you pay for.
I have the Oneplus 8 pro right now and want to switch for the 12. I was not able to use 5G on my 8 pro... Do you have any issues with the 12 ?

Is there a Google Pixel camera APK to use on the OnePlus 12? I used it for the 8T and it dramatically increased the camera quality.

I've been using the OnePlus 12 since it was released and it's an amazing device. I've had several of their flagship devices and they never disappoint. Briefly, I considered the Samsung Galaxy s24 ultra but, I didn't care for the design. I'm not a fan of flat screens or endless right angles. Curved glass is far more ergonomic and has a much more premium look. The s24 ultra is clearly a technological masterpiece but, it looks like a miniature glass casket.
S24+ is better form factor than the ultra, but the 12 was definitely the best choice!
@@davidbrown6137 in fact, I love the plus with the exception of the design language. Personally, I would choose it over the ultra. Especially, with this year's upgrades.

Totally disagree. I much prefer the flat screens and I love the design of the S24 series phones. I think the S24s look much more premium.

im looking forward for the OP12 BUT!, it depends heavily where u are living and whats the pricing is for that piece of device. in europe this phone is not that cheap either. here in germany u pay for the op12 with 16gb ram and 512gb storage nearly 1100Euros. If u anywhere in europe and u want a good deal with this phone, u need to import it for ~750 Bucks. Than its a good deal, otherwise this phone is too expensive in comparrison with a s24 ultra. on some stores u get a s24 ultra for 1300 and this phone for 1100, so there is not that much pricing diffrence between this 2 units and than the s24 is the better phone (not in terms of charging 😁)
I live in France and I paid mine "800€" (16/512GB) 1000 - 100 newsletter and 100€ selling the earbuds. It was well worth it. I've tried Pixel 8 Pro that takes great photos but that's it. Slow charging, poor to mediocre battery life, overheating, slow processor. No atmos/vision support and it cost 869 for 128Gb

@@drakoran We're talking official website not third -party seller which are often imported versions. With these imported phones, I know that I can't trade in because of IMEI while phones from official websites and official online resellers like Amazon, it works. Plus, with imported phones, local OnePlus store won't take in charge any repair.

Where I live the S24U is only 150€ more than the OP12. Worth it?
As far as the telephoto is concerned it is a 3x zoom lens which is 70mm and hence you get the full range, I did not understand what you were saying that you want 70mm but it's not there unlike the iPhone which actually has 120mm focal length
i have the oneplus 12 16gig, 512 gig bought it for 740 usd. very nice phone. but its to damn big to me. still like the form factor of the basic samsung s23.

Got mine today. Freaking awesome! Like I'm using a device that is between S24 Ultra and S24+. Oxygen OS is butter and battery life is superb. Camera is subjective and sometimes user dependent. But the price to performance is hard to beat. Unless you usually look at brand names.
Absolutely loved the review, but my favourite part was the AFC Richmond sweater... so everything was 🔥🔥

For everyone that asking about the icon pack and the weather widget : the icon pack's called Hera Icon Pack , and the weather widget is called Poppins KWGT. Not sure about the date widget, but it might be the Orca KWGT.
What do you think about photo processing? I saw OnePlus 11 freezes heavily after taking a few photos in low light (not at night - just in not so good light conditions). Is it improved on OnePlus 12 or does it still struggle to process photos and freezes? As far as I saw Pixel photo processing is much much snappier.
It's better than P8P. I have both.

@@bestenglishfun nope don't have that issue although in low light sometimes it does have a message pop up that says it's processing. Only low light though and not consistently.

I bought the one plus 12 and love it , the curved display is awesome. In the rain it has no problem with touch on the screen. I bought a great case and I recommend it. The 50 watt wireless charger is awesome, I use it as a stand for the phone. Camera is awesome once you learn how to use it.

My worry with many of these smaller brands is that their ecosystem might be limited. Samsung & Apple have the whole shebang - smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, earbuds, laptops, dedicated software, etc. - and interlink smoothly across the entire system of devices. Until smaller brands offer something similar, some of us might have difficulty considering their offerings...

Unfortunately a lot of reviewers are saying that, forgetting that they have the $512gb version and not the 256gb one. Most aren't mentioning the $100 trade in deal on any phone that I believe is still available. I don't think it's being done on purpose though.
There WAS a "Preview price" of $799 for BOTH 12G, 256 storage AND 16G, 512 storage models until a certain date in February/March. There was Also a $100 trade-in on ANY phone (OnePlus or any other manufacturers). I got my 16g, 512gb storage OnePlus 12 for $799 DURING THAT TIME! I ALSO traded in my OnePlus 7Pro for an additional $200 (that was the quoted price for that model) off the $799 price. If you looked at the website for the trade, it will post the different prices for other phones besides OnePlus phones. So I'm glad that I got a great phone for $599!😼
I currently have the 12R. Legit one of the BEST phones I have ever owned. Some pros: The screen is just gorgeous as the color pops and you can adjust picture quality and saturation to your liking. The speakers sound great for the price. SMOOTH display my first day to day with a 120hrz display and I will never go back. Gaming is great doesn't overheat for long while -- even then it's not hot just warm. THE FRIGGIN BATTERY LIFE!!! Its fantastic even with my full brightness and heavy usage I still had 30 - 40% by the end of the day. The fast charging is awesome -- and actually holds its charge. Cons: The selfie camera is okay, nothing will blow you out of the water but its sharp and clear. The main cameras are better but not as good as my Iphones and pixels of the past. However this device still takes great photos especially in bright lighting. It's top heavy -- however a case should help a bit. All and all if you have $500-600 dollars to spend get the 12r. If you like the more premium approach of the 12 get it. You will not regret it.

The 12gb, 256 of ram is $799 not $899.
I owned a OP 6T and just traded it in for the OP 12. The 6T was by far the best phone of its time. And while the 12 is great, I liked the 6T's software better. It was closer to stock android. The battery charges super fast but only when using the included Power Supply AND Cord. Yes, with a regular cable, you will get much slower charging and that sucks. I like to use Nova Launcher and now the phone keeps showing a message that says the OP launcher wants to shut down. I have to see this pop-up at least once per day. The curved screen, while cool, is simply not necessary. I do fine that near the edges there are some dead spots. The 6T had a flat screen. Obviously, whoever was there when the 6T was made, is no longer there.
It's a good phone, but going from a 6T, I expected perfection and it's not quite there.
OP6T user here and thinking of buying OP12 now. My OP6T is so good that I just don't want to stop using it.
You have a few errors . First the phone starts a 699 2 it's snap dragon-8 Gen 3, also stinks that you tried to skip performance when that's where OnePlus arrives especially at the price 😢 esp the 16gb ram one.

I am considering the Oneplus as my next phone but I have concerns about the speakers. Are they as loud and as clear as those on the S24 ultra?
One plus has the best of all except for cameras but only if you compare with the world of pro maxs and ultras.

To me that's the best overall phone for 2024. It has a great price, flagship specs, ultra fast charging capability, super fast wireless charging. It brings a lot of value for that price point.

Oneplus 12 is a better phone than my iphone 14 pro max and 24 ultra it is a flagship killer.ir blaster and the aqua touch feature something 24 ultra and iphone doesn't have.the price of this phone beats both phones and u get a charger and cable in the box on top of a 4500 nits of brightness just in case of a very bright day is a big plus for me.oneplus 12 is a winner.

Half price of the ip 15 pro max, better battery life than 15 pm (check phone buff test), better night photos than 15 pm. Oneplus nailed it this year.
Technically the phone starts at 699 if it had a 128 GB option. Literally same price as the pixel 8. Some will argue pixel 8 is better value since it has longer support but when has google ever kept a promise.

Besides price, is there any benefit of this device over an S24 Ultra? If price weren’t an issue, would you still pick the S24 Ultra over this?
One plus has a brighter bigger better pixel density, better resolution and more colors with 10 bit screen than Samsung has. Better battery and charge faster. Same chip basically same performance but one plus is smoother, one plus is known for that. Very good for gaming as well.

It's weird that you say it has some CRAZY HDR in every photo? When in comparisons it seems to be the phone with less HDR algorithms... Maybe you are referring to that proHDR thing that cranks up the brightness level in the gallery app.

so, it is so evident that i have made a gigantic mistake at this stage after i had selected oneplus 12 R over samsung s23 fe which had no doubt better cameras than this phone. let it be known that i had waited 4 years for this upgrade which was not much but I guess, you dont get what you really want in life

the smaller phone thing doesn't really sell, but I agree. I want to get one and I probably will, but I wish companies gave up on this awful curved screen obsession. It's terrible, it has little to no advantages, just make it flat.
