What is ASMR? It is both a sensation and a medium.
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current, non-scientific name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps, but much more pleasant.
ASMR videos are meant to intentionally help induce this sensation, also referred to as "tingles", but also provide a relaxing, calming, soothing, therapeutic and even entertaining experience for the viewer.
Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.

Rift have you seen 'Room'? It's an amazing money based in one small room for 90% of the movie. It's quite the emotional train ride and I don't know of one person who hasn't loved it. It's simply a masterpiece and made. very well. I recommend everyone watches it.

I love these types of videos. Please keep making stuff like this: low but normal talking, actually talking about something no nonsense, with substantial viewing time. This and your 2016 celebrity death list (while depressing) was easy to listen to while studying and while trying to wind down after work.

Great relaxing rundown, but MAN, your colors are so warm and on point in this video. It's great when the visuals are just as calming as the audio. Nice attention to detail.

Well, it's excellent work. The visual design of ASMR doesn't come up as often, but it is just as much part of the creative canvas as the raw content. Very much a factor in the viewer experience. This video sets a great reference standard. Warm overall color temperature, but still natural skin tones. Yep.

John Wick Chapter 2 is my big pick for action this year. The first under performed in theaters despite being one of the best action movies of 2015 and is definitely worth picking up. It sets up the premise without going off track, has good world building and great action set pieces with near perfect cinematography (look up the night club scene, its about 5 minutes and its on youtube). There's even a few characters that might make for a good roleplay asmr like the Cleaner or the assassins' hotel manager
I'm honestly pumped for the new Resident Evil movie! 💝

In case you still check all the comments, I recommend Bo Burnham. Seriously my favorite comedian, mostly because he brings theatre into his comedy and how well developed his themes and topics are. Two of his specials are on Netflix and one is on youtube. Enjoy.

Alright, so a lot of people are up in arms about "Why would they use a white actor in the lead role of a Japanese movie like 'Ghost in the Shell'?!?" Listen... In the manga, the Major ISN'T EVEN JAPANESE!!! She's a cyborg that has taken on many identities in the past and her origins are a matter for debate... To the people getting all butthurt over "Oh, not another white supremacy movie..." there are many other instances of this low hanging fruit for you to grab at, so look elsewhere because this is not one such case.

57:00 - I'm excited that this ISN'T directed by Ridley Scott not because I dislike Scott but because of how much I love his replacement here. Also, I should probably note that I'm not a fan of the original because I feel the story is utter crap and the legacy of the film rests solely on its FX and art/vision of the future but with Denis Villeneuve (Pronounced Den-ee Vee-Noov, it's french Canadian) at the helm it could really transcend more than just an FX film. He is an _outstanding_ director; really one of my favourites who has demonstrated that he can take on just about any genre and shine. Crime dramas, Sci-Fi, Human Drama, Surreal fantasy, Mystery, etc, etc. Every one of his films has stood apart from the other and been just as amazing as the last.
You said you haven't seen John Wick? I highly recommend it. One of the best action flicks I have seen in recent memory.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to write out the list of movies by month. Secondly, of the many movies on the list, there are only a handful I'm actually interested in. Flatliners (in Sept) in particular as I loved the original and am curious to see how they will handle the sequel. Also Cars 3. It seems darker and looks like it will be a throwback to the relationship between Lightning and Doc. Other than that- meh.
t2 trainspotting 2 is what I'm ready for, the first one is my favorite movie

Ad nauseam The Facehugger IS a Xenomorph. They come out of eggs laid by the queen, impregnate a host, and then die. I believe they (the Facehuggers) are actually supposed to be males.

I've cooled on horror movies too, mostly the ones about possession & "satanic" witches. I don't believe in the devil, demons, or possession, so no scare there. I've known some Wiccans/Witches, they don't believe in the devil, and are some of the nicer folk I've met. Other horror I don't like is torture porn, such as the Saw & Hostel series. Sci-fi and Fantasy I often like, want to see the Prometheus flick and the Blade Runner follow-up. Don't like crime movies, so the one you described with cops, cocaine & kidnapping - a must miss for me. Won't be seeing the emoji or lego movies, maybe the Smurfs out of nostalgia. So far, I've never gotten anyone to sit through The Room, other than me. :) Great report on 2017 cinema, thanks!

John Wick was a great film. A pure action flick that doesn't rely heavily on story and acting.
Holy crap, this is the antithesis of this video but I literally just watched Prometheus, then Alien 1 and 2 (just a few hours ago) for the first time.. somehow. That is so funny looking at the background of the video. Can't wait to watch Alien 3.
