If you’re going to putting yourself in the position to surf waves of consequence you need better equipment. He might’ve been able to make that section on a 6’0-6’3 pin tail. Not only that, but it’s more fun riding something that performs better.

Sometimes the waves are too top to bottom pitching for a longboard really. You want a little Porsche to surf it instead of a Cadillac. Doesn’t ramp up so much like alot of the Pacific Ocean breaks. Fast pitching Atlantic Surf.
Definitely a classic. All I can think is if he could have pulled that drop and pulled in with a booty drag like JOB does, He would have been kegged out of his mind. But I wouldn't have the balls either on one that size in the winter. Mental wave
I was lifeguard in ocean city NJ for a couple of summers back in the day. One day each summer there were these huge pefect waves way out on a sandbar. Fortunately I had my body board and fins with me and caught a few while they lasted. Pefect waves are rare at the Jersey shore, but sometimes you get lucky.
Definitely as big as a decent swell on Maui at Ho’Okipa Beach Park. Garanz. 4-6 foot Hawaiian fer sure. But we would call it probably a five foot day set wave on Maui. Solid 💪🏻 👊🏻 🤙🏻

You are a good surfer, and no disrespect, but yes, I have. I surfed the mornings of almost every hurricane from the early 80s through to the early 2000's. I taught some of the best surfers on the east coast to surf, and helped many others to improve, especially in big waves. Stay humble kid! Love the novelty stuff :)
I think he’s in ocean city. It gets big and clean like that on the backside of a good nor-easter. Kinda looks like the wind just shifted off shore. It’s still really storm and unorganized.
