Your instructor knows Mooneys. He is absolutely right about hitting 80 MPH across the numbers and about a little bit of power during the flare. After owning my Mooney for 30 years, I am still really cautious during the landing phase.

If you are having problems with seeing the floor indicator with the gear down, the bulb may be burned out or the wiring maybe shorted. The bulb socket moves a bit with the slider and can break the wire.

I have a G model and my gear horn sounds when I get around 12 inches MP. It would be super annoying if it came on at 16 because that is what I fly downwind at, configured clean. I'd maybe check into that.

The gear warning should come on around 12” of MP.

I have a Kore headset, gonna upgrade to a noise cancelling Bose once I'm an instructor and move my current headset to the backseat with the spare for passengers.
