The motor is 52 CC's. 1.5 HP or so. The bottom is an optional shallow drive. It's very inefficient, but made for taking some Jon boats through 4 Inches of water, not for speed. It's a well liked quiet easy starting motor just for local fishing. You use it instead of a trolling motor. It's much lighter, cheaper, and you can run it an hour or two on a quart of gas.

I have a few of those motors on a different projects and they are really only just under 2HP. They are always advertised falsely as 4HP. It might go a little faster if you remove the steel screen at the bottom where it picks up the water, it looks very restrictive. Great info you are giving on this.

Painful to see you going through this cheap motor series. You convinced me not to buy one, not that I was thinking about getting one. I agree with you, brand name, real outboard motors are the way to go for sure...

Just a advice. The plate where the "prop" is, is supposed to be in line with the bottom of your boat, and not as deep as you put it. That take away all the power of a "waterjet".
The motor has no way to adjust the trim up or down, you would have to lift it up holding it with two hands and that didn't even work either lol 😆
@@AliexFolgueira lol wrong. Unbolt the 4 shaft housing clamp/pivot bolts and move the motor shaft housing up.
Well you don’t have the motor mounted anywhere near high enough lol. The center of the jet output should be half way out of the water. You need to unbolt the 4 bolts on the motor shaft clamp and raise the motor up and bolt it back together.

@@AliexFolgueira lol not when it is properly used lol. It is really dishonest to give a bad review of something that you have no idea how to use. And you go on about it being a “lawnmower engine” lol. It is a standard vertical shaft 4 stroke that is used for dozens of applications. If you were to actually use this the proper way you would be much happier with it. I have one and it pushes my 12ft boat at 5-6mph up stream and 7-8mph down just fine.
Naw 5 was tops. Really 3-4 with the jet option was actually pretty good. Considering the loss of efficency with the jet. You can get a cheaper 2 stroke and do about 8-9 mph. But, you never ask questions first. Good video for waht it was. The motor was never designed to be a high speed option.
No one should ever buy this motor.
@@AliexFolgueira lol, the motor is really pretty good its a Honda clone made in china. It was never meant to be on a outboard. If you make it you can put it where you want. The pairing with a jet pump outboard lower unit was unfortunate.
Aliex i wonder if it would run much better if you could put a prop on it?
From what I gather probably a mile faster but it is not worth it 3mph for all that noise ? Better buy a watersnake 24t

Aliex, great beware of motor review. My friend has a $300 Amazon motor, on his restored 12' Jon boat. We've both been on it, getting maybe 3 mph, with the prop model. My Bixpy is faster than his motor. I think it's the design. Maybe with no prop outside the shaft. Ive never seen that design. Looks like you're not really moving. Good luck bro. Atleast you've got video proof to show that motor.. 🤣 😎 🎣 🙏

Yeah it kills the motor by shorting the ignition to ground when pushed . You probably shouldn't go a review on something you don't understand. And I do enjoy my motor .

The HP is probably accurate. You should know the engine you are buying. The "prop" is actually an impellor . It is a jet which always produces less power than a prop. While it is certainly not a high quality outboard, it is quite cheap. The criticisms are all insignificant. I think the problem is your ignorance of the type of outboard.
