So they gave everything Sym had or should have had to another support again. Sym's primary beam for heals and it's longer. Fascinating they give a dps a shorter beam. Let that sink in a support with team needs a longer beam than a dps does to reach to a enemy? What a load of bs. How can one not hate such an incompetent dev team. Then they give her a stronger easier to hit instant ranged attack THAT CAN HEADSHOT, yet sym gets a garbage orb that does 100 damage and takes a full second to charge has slow travel time and basically takes twice as long. Wow and they gave her a healing turret with functional health to actually keep the turret alive, unlike syms turrets that die from a breeze. AND IT HAS A SHORTER COOLDOWN THAN EVEN 1 SYM TURRET W T F?!!!! Oh cool a dps ult on a support, why Sym gets a dps rework and gets a support ult instead that does no damage and she can barely utilize for kills because it's so trash and already been nerfed into the ground. At least with shield gen it would help sym brawl. Oh and she gets a aoe get off me attack that self heals, almost like sym could have always used that since she is so weak to being dived. God I hate the Overwatch dev team. Utter pathetic idiots.
The interaction for blocking junkerqueen ult vs Doomfist punch is consistent. Junkerqueen does not stop on the first target hit, Doomfist always does.
Illari is basically the overwatch team asking "what if we added a Solar Warlock from Destiny as a support."
All shes missing is some fancy robes and a distinct lack of pants fashion. lol

Ana is the most balanced character they did cuz she works with everyone but without making her go OP cuz of her skill ceiling
It feels like Illari is gonna be crazy with anyone too, I'm thinking maybe Zen since she's very much damage/support, not a lot of utility like Discord or Ana nade or sleep. But with anyone, she's gonna be nuts, GREAT healing, GREAT damage, so the other support can either be a crazy combo or just do their own thing.
I don't see how that combo would be better than other ana X combinations

Illari pairs well with Lucio, zen, mercy so far from what I’m noticing. In my games these duos seem to do really well!

It seems like it can be dealt with similarly to Grav + Pulsebomb, as long as they have a cleanse or people don't play on top of eachother it'll be alright.
Or illaris and junkerqueens ult combo, that is even faster
I think it might be fine tbh, feel like these clips with bots make it seem more op then it is, like if you where ever in a situation in where you can grav the whole team and then hit them with sunstruck that would be cool, but not necessary in the slightest because if you grav a whole team you have already won that fight anyways (only diamond this is just my best assumption)

Yeah, it's essentially an NPC and the interactions seem to just be the same as a player. If Doom punches a player he'll be stopped, if Junker Queen ults through a group she won't be (unless otherwise stunned).

Weaver is great but their play styles can’t really be compared and his a great pick now. Like when it comes to healing he’s definitely stronger in that area then illari
As someone who enjoys Lifeweaver, the most boring part of his kit is his ultimate, it’s just a buffed mei wall I use it to block Baptiste’s window

@@MikeyCC well not necessarily. It is a fact that for example healing self-inflicted damage on allies does not grant ult charge to healers, so the distinction is definitely there. Now whether it is considered separately in this situation I do not know
Should have checked to see if Ashe's dynamite was enough to trigger the Captive Sun explosion, because if so that's a MUCH cheaper (resource wise) thing to combo with her ult, which allows the tam to save ults for the next fight.
Too dependent on dynamite's result. Cause splash from Illari's ult is way bigger.
Moreover dynamite deals dmg slowly so enemy team have their chance to heal up or spread so ultimate's explosions wouldn't kill everybody

The Ult looked really good at first, but given half the characters in the game have a cleanse and the other half can shut you down it actually seems kinda hard to get any value from it.
Welcome to the DPS experience, where your ult exists only to make the enemy support use a cd

@bigfudge2031 I think there's a lot of tank counters to it, but you just gotta track cooldowns. No way an Ana or something is gonna sleep your ass. Dva however seems like just a pretty hard counter
I love the concept of this ultimate, applies a debuff to the enemies so you are providing high value damage boost to your team but you will get the potg and your name on the killfeed instead of the teammate. This is basically Zarya's wet dream
She looks like a lot more fun than the healbotting lifeweaver experience. I'll probably play her cause her healing reminds me a lot of Zen, just set and forget with some burst healing

I love these, I find knowing character interactions is often as helpful as just knowing the kit.
I believe this is the first Support ultimate that directly debuffs enemies instead of buffing allies.
As a general rule:
Damage Ults: Deal damage
Tank Ults: Debuff enemies
Support Ults: Buff allies
There are exceptions, but this is the first Support ultimate that solely works against enemies and doesn’t directly enable allies.
Tank ults CC enemies, not debuff.

I think it would be really hard to get any value out of her ult, most characters can either shut it down or cleanse the effect.
@@bigfudge2031its gotten rid of by the same stuff that gets rid of bleed, the ult just has to touch you to get you affected, and any of your teammates can cause the damaged needed to cause the burst, and then that first burst can cause the others to burst

We saw that the projectile from her ult passes through shields, but does the explosion as well? ex if an Illari shoots inside of Winton bubble, will people outside the bubble take damage from the explosion?
Illari just feels like a Sojourn and reverse Symmetra lovechild.
How is she sojourn?
She has nothing like electric nade
Her bumb is not close to soj's slide and super jump.
Her primary and only fire is ok looks like sojourn's ray but less dmg and her only option to shoot and that's not 90% of her gameplay(sojourn) she mostly fires like soldier.
Reverse Sym I dunno cause she has no portal nor any shields.
Healing beam instead of dmg beam ok but there's also Zarya with such thing and Illari's beam looks more like Zarya's thn Symmetra's one.
It also doesn't charge in any way.
And to say reverse sym because of healing turret I dunno. They're too different. It's more like reverse Torb's turret. It have hp and it exists for some heroes (remember dat DFs punch?)
What I mean is she feels nothing like any kind of previous heroes fuse.
Actually her primary fire feels more like Mccree's rather than Sojourn for me even though it's beam.
This character has lots of potential. I suspect she might be pretty popular, and have some committed mains. Ill deffo put some hours in.
Only complaint is that she has a lot of different things going on in her kit, and she might be a tiny bit overloaded
Those were my initial impressions, so far, sheilds not blocking ult is actually retarded. Why is more power being put into matrix, grasp, and deflect and sheilds literally being made a detriment. I'm a rein main, and have only seen every new character (except JQ) hard counter you in some way. Do they just think of every way to fuck over rein? He's getting power crept so fucking hard and it's starting to get on my nerves. It's like I'm playing 3x as hard when I just wanna play my favorite hero.
Imma straight up drop a rein rework concept video if this shit keeps up. Dont care if it doesn't get seen, just tired of ranting about it to my friends

Perhaps i missed it, but i feel like it should be said, Captive sun also detonates if the target dies before taking the required damage. So shooting a 100 hp target is an instakill with huge boom potential if they are grouped up
realised with the ashe interaction if you are playing with an ashe and not against them you can coordinate bob and healing pylon together,using it as a stopper for bob, can imagine having a bob standing on the corner of the Paraíso roofs already
friendly players are able to walk thru the pylon so friendly bob probably can as well. Only reason the enemy ashe's bob stops is because he stops whenever he hits an enemy and the pylon is registered as an enemy
I love that they didn't make echo a support because her ult didn’t feel supportive to relase Illari who ult is just completely damage focus.
Played a couple of hours of her… and look, even when I’m being damage focussed…. I’m also pumping out Moira levels of healing (not dps Moira ofc) every round

It was a good choice Imo, echo has an ultimate which would effectively remove a member of your most important role if she was a support, illaris ultimate offers a form of utility which has existed in the the support roster since it’s release, a damage multiplier debuff

The ult DOES pierce Rein shield, it's just that it actually hit Reinhardt. It triggers when hitting an enemy or the environment, but not shields.

At first I thought she was going to be an off healer, but honestly, that drone does quite a lot of passive healing
Also, good to note that EMP + Ilari Ult only instantly procs 300+ health targets due to the initial 50 damage (250 is just 10 dmg shy of 90)

Sombra can hack Illari out of ult and her turrets. And Sombra can teleport to cleanse the ultimate proc stuck on her. And friendly emp does enough damage to explode the ultimate proc as seen on this video. I think that's all of the interactions

hopeful she'll still be as fun to play after the initial nerfs. For now it feels nice how much she can shake up the game. Like she's kinda broken in the right hands, but not enough to control the game too much.

Illari can do a lot but it's really interesting that she can be countered just as easily as she can help people.
I think she sits in a good spot, but outburst as a circle of knockback might be the most broken thing. Think about it, it's the radius of Winston rocket jump landing (possibly even bigger) but the knockback of Primal range swing. Every other knockback only works in one direction or if it's all around (again rocket jump landing or late suzu) it was miniscule in knockback power.
I guess Torbjorn's turret now works as a torch too. XD

I would have loved to see if Zen’s trans can sustain her ults damage to prevent deaths but I think it can anyways.
Worth noting is that when your healing turret is destroyed it takes signifcant more time before you can place a new one, like torbs turret. So when it is in a position it can be destroyed fast, it is best to throw a new one in a better position.
I have some questions
- can Illari ult while trapped by a Junkrat trap?
- can the pilon be conc'd over by a junkrat concussion mine?
- can you stand over the pilon?
- can the pilon stick to Lifeweaver's tree?
- does reaper keep the sunstruck dot if/while he teleports?
- can hog ult move the pilon over?
- can weaver pull thru the pilon? (Or does it work like hog hook?)
- can kiriko cleanse the pilon from Ashe's TNT/any stuns that work on it (shatter, pin, punch)?
- does the pilon stick over or thru a sym turret?
- can you heal the pilon?
- can the pilon be hacked? If so, does it get hit by its damage?

It kind of make sense since sun is using radiation, so it can pass through most solid object (like the shield etc.) so it can't be block, nice detail
It's gonna be awesome ult alongside an orisa ult I guess. Imagine orisa drawing in she fires and orisa uses ult at 100 power. Boom 4 r dead
yeah the slowing effect helps keeping the enemy long enough in the area of effect and Orisa doesn't need to overcommit for full power, just needs to hit the breaking point.
Nicest combo for ow2 Orisa so far.
@@christianstorms3950 I think it might work with blade too since u only need to hit once and u can dash off to ur next victim. And since the mark triggers immediately after taking dmg it might be able to put damage a zen ults healing ability.

Yeah, compared to Kiriko she isn’t busted but it makes me like this hero a lot more! I literally wanted to wheeze when I saw that all it takes to completely counter Illari ult is just a single suzu. Kiriko is like the fun police right next to Sombra lol
Average support main thinking their character isn't broken xd. 2 shots to the head, 1 shot to the head and 1 to the body with a mercy pocket. 120 HEALS PER SECOND, NOT COUNTING THE TURRET. Seems a little silly to me
@@jaydenhohman2590Technically not 120 heals per second since it's burst healing and needs to recharge.
I turned off the hold to jump farther setting in her settings, it makes it easier to get around without having to worry about holding the button especially in team fights
There's 2 different jumps, one while midair and one on the ground to jump further you have to be mid air to go higher you use it while on the ground

Of course Blizzard hears that the biggest complaint about Sojourn is her railgun and their response is to add another railgun.
Love having another damage focused support. Zen is the only other that has a heavy focus on it. Numbers seem a little overtuned tho
in training mode I first thought Zen heavily outdamages her dps wise because her slow shooting. But that was my wife spamming her shots. Waiting till rifle refills and doing more damage per shot, both of them do very good damage. I also imagine Illari pairing really well with baptiste
@@christianstorms3950 On top of that she’s a new hitscan support which is so nice. Another way to counter flying enemies if your teammate won’t take care of them for you.
If you find a slope, like stair steps, & place Bap window on an angle, then thrown a Soldier heal through it, his healing station heals faster.
You even hear the Bap window SFX of an attack shooting through it.
The new flashpoint maps look like they're from a completely different game
with immortality/cleanse in play i think it’ll be a lot easier to counter captive sun than people think. Lots of characters to play to negate the ult’s value entirely
I wonder what would happen if LW's petal platform comes up from below and contacts the pylon on a wall. Does it stop, or scrap the pylon off? or go right through?
With the boop ability in mind, does it go through shields?
Its crazy how many ow2 characters feel like dps characters changed to fir other roles
If wrecking ball could hook onto the pylon that would make a great combo for more open map where he doesn't have a good wall or ceiling to grab onto. Good for open space spinning.

You tested the Captive Sun beam going through the shield, but what about the splash? Will the splash go through the shield to place the DoT on enemies on the other side of a shield?

I believe she can use Outburst while in the air. I just watched Flats video and he used the ability after showing her ultimate.

I tried it myself in training range but I´m not sure - does the initial Captive Sun shot trigger the explosion if the enemy dies from it?

also you forget something, you can cleanse the insulation thing, but the explosion it is still going to happen, for example a reaper fade, if you are near your allies they will suffer the damage of explosion while reaper not

Does the new armor change affect discord when characters like orisa and rammatra go over the 50% damage reduction threshold?

I think it's more of a conditional sticky rather than a DoT because if the requirements to explode aren't met there's no extra damage, unlike a traditional DoT. But I get it's easier to say.
