- This old salvage yard is about 20 miles from where I live. Most of th' cars and trucks here are from th' 40's 50's and 60's. You just dont see old cars in salvage yards anymore, they have mostly been sent to th' crusher for scrap. I could spend all day at a place like this!
Thanks for watchin'.

D. Ray Smith, let me compliment you on your appreciation of these precious, rusty relics. Mostly thank you for Not calling your presentation - Barn Find, or Abandoned
thumbs up if you knew every car he called out before he called them out
There are big differ on a-59 and -61 Chevy!
Look at it another way, These rusted out cars are better to look at than the unsold cars of today sitting on airfields around the world. The old stuff was built with passion and to last a life time
Don: Great vid. Ever since I was a little kid (I just turned 60) I've always had this strange fascination with junk cars. I'd love to be able to walk around a junk yard like you just did. I always thought that Corvair pick-up truck was real cool -- way cooler than the van. I share your opinion about that (about '69 or '70) Ford XL convertible. Thanks for letting me stop in and sound off.
Your camera work is very good. You pan and move slowly enough that the viewer does not get vertigo. Where did you say the field is? Thanks.
Unlike the COOKIE CUTTER crap of today the cars u showed all had their own "distinct" look...U could tell the make and model by merely seeing part of the grill or taillight etc...Today they are all look alikes excetping a few...When the cars of today go to the junk yard they won't even be missed...aka Plastic crap !!
thanks for sharing! love the old cars, back when people could design a thing of beauty.
Where is this located city, State , Please
Finally ! , someone that did a video right . very enjoyable and quite educational too . great job Sir ! . I enjoyed the music and all the cars , and the narration was right on the money . Ray in Pa.
How much for the cinder block on the 60 El Camino?
Liked your video. did a nice job of narrating. Junk yards are becoming fewer and fewer. Don't let negative comments discourage you. It's not about 4 door cars, it's really about the yard nowadays and how they're disappearing from the landscape and you're recording their history thank you
Good stuff Buddy!! You did the same thing I did in my video. You added Old in front of the name of every car, Ya can't help it!! Great video!!☺
Way cool. Great blues there too. I must have become a gear-head. Loving the classics. Started researching conversion vans for cross-country camping. Did that for three years. Heading off to salvage for a Ford spare tire wench/carrier. LONG LIVE THE SALVAGE YARD! LONG LIVE THE RIGHT TO REPAIR!
What i would do is make a fiberglass or carbon fiber mold from each popular cars and trucks.bodies with the chrome glass attach and start new from frame up and Mass produce em big time That way they will live for ever and never die.....No One Else Is Going To Do it While there still left to make a mold and tear a new hole in ford chevy ect. show them how to really make a car with out a bunch of parts and nuts and bolts that very strong easy to fix and no rust They don't need to make any more new cars, They look like shit! If they had a brain, they would reproduce the old one and bring them back to life with new Tech motors ect in them and keep the bodies Original styles out of carbon fiber Any way that what i would do if i was younger instead of setting on my ass playing video games!
I would be making New Cars, Trucks, Boats, Planes, and Trains
Yeah man that my next mission to restore me one of them!!!
That 4 door it's not a 60 or no 62 impala it's a 1961 impala that's the only model that has the quarter moulding comming down.
Todays cars have a feeling of cheapness to them. I used to be a devote GM guy in the 70s, not anymore though
Those have to be some of my Grandpa's, and Uncles cars. All my relatives are buried at Possum Grape. My Mom just two weeks ago. Back in the early 80's she took us ( me and 8 cousins) in a jump off of Joy Mountain in a 63 Chrystler 4 door. None of us got hurt.
It´s nice, that cars, i just love to them, here in Brazil we don´t have mucj of these cars, I ent to the USA two times this year in Vegas and I want to go to Desert Valley Autoparts if I can get a Galaxie 66 a convertible top to install in my Ford Landau 76 that was the last car that have a 302 v8 engine.chers
Where is it located. What town.
Dd some research. Vintage Auto Salvage, Possum Grape, AR open Fi & St site says to call ken 501-208-0119im going to check in and see if they have any parts for my rambler and this info is also in the information drop down at the top didn't realize that till just now......
That '53 Cadillac reminded me of trying to hitchhike from the Atlanta area heading toward SC in about the late Fall of 1968 in the very late afternoon, and our standing out in the cold for about an hour, and finally getting a ride up I-85 with 2 bank robbers with large frame, shiny .38 Special revolvers and a back seat just full of loose ammunition. The car was pristine, and looked like a Family Car that had just been liberated from a country funeral home somewhere in Alabama. The guys were great and were anxious to show us and tell us about their revolvers, the huge quantity of ammunition they had, their wads of money, and their big plans, and, to avoid attracting attention, they drove that car at about 100 mph the whole time we were with them (no car was able to pass us), which was about 50 miles further up I-85 than they had planned, because of the great tales they were telling us. Those guys were having the most fun they'd ever had and we got to hear about it, secretly wondering if they'd shoot us after we heard their story. But no, they let us off as they turned down a side road more less back toward Athens and south Georgia, and we got a ride in a Rambler with a drunk Chief Petty officer, who only asked that we get him to a bar in whatever town we were going to, and we did.
Later on, I looked for but never found out anything about those bank-robbing guys having done anything bad that was really newsworthy, but whatever they may have done, they were putting it behind them as fast as that '53 Cadillac would go.
P.S. That Caddy was a solid as a rock at high speeds - can't think of a modern car that rides as well as it did that fine, Georgia afternoon on I-85 heading East.
where is this
Do you know if the owner sells whole cars or is just in to selling the parts?
There is a private salvage yard just west of Bloomington, IL off hwy 9, Gus Miller sells whole cars.
I like old stuff because Americans made them with high quality and standards
Hi. In this video, you looked at that 68 Ford Galaxie with the 390 in it. I have that same 68, I need a 390. Could you please tell me if I can get in touch with this person to but that engine? Also I don't even know how old this video is. Thank you.
Hi D-Ray. Is there away someone can a hold of where this place is at? I seen a 59 Chevy Impala that That a friend of mine that needs a few parts, and I also need some parts for my 68 Ford Galaxie. Both of us are having it hard to find any parts for either. Thank you.
Possum grape Arkansas is the location, just north of Bradford Arkansas off of 367 it's on Google maps. North to northwest of Memphis TN.
why do people have such a hardon for chevy crap you know they only made 17 MILLION of each model....nothing rare or special about impalas novas and camaros
All these cars were/is running on fuel that isn't good for the nature as it is now, their fuel has some other worse things in it. Why not change the fuel pumps to the today's fuel? I mean like WTF, then all those cars would have been here. If we start doing that, those who likes these cars, alot more of these cars will still be here. All these lovely cars would still be on the roads... don't you miss them?
Copy this and add it to every video about old cars!
My friends got a beautiful 61 Belair just a Gorgeous car. its all original his great aunt bought it brand new its been garaged since. she passed he got it. has Rally wheels off of a 70 Chevelle good lookin car. its in my vids if you wanna check it out.
P.S. Those big powerhouses of the 60s only had about a half inch on each side to get in the door of the shop, sometimes taking me an hour to carefully pull in the shop, that's with help from an observer, like my sister! HA HA

I'm looking for a Chevy truck from 47 from 53 pickup five window maybe you could help me
Great subject, but sad to see history rusting away,I'm sure if they were all shipped off to Cuba or Senegal and brought back they could be restored to there past state for little cost.
Sir that was really nice to see them old cars and trucks do have the info on that junkyard so i can find out on some parts and do you know if there any 1967 chevy trucks there
There must be a few of these old car graveyards around. For a keen eye and a few bucks, you could make some big bucks restoring some of these... Good video.
the scrape prices have got the best of most the old cars around. back a 5 or 6 years ago there were still hundreds of old cars around norther michigan now they are all gone.
Junkyards are therapy for me, thx fer sharing!
Thanks for showing the junkyard. I love it
Do you have a transmission filler tube for a 1970 cougar XR7 C-4
The second car featured was a 61 Chevy. I drove one in high school. Brought back lots of memories. Thanks!
Very COOL !!! Thanks for sharing !! I'd love to walk threw there too
so. so... sad.:'( I love my 64 Chevy Nova.
I would like to know if they have a 1962 SS or a 1963 impala two door? Can you get back to me.
I know where there is a yellow 57 convertable setting for sale.. It need alot of the trim. but the panels are all straight.
The only reason you can tell them apart is because you like them. Most people would say those old 50s cars all look the same.
The reason those cars are still sitting there is because the owner probably thinks those cars are a gold mine
I would hire me a couple old mechanics and start building rat rods and truc you could make a small. Fortune.
nice old parts but looks like most are 4 doors so they will be harder to move but much easier to find
makes me sad seening ol iron rusting like that .they should be out burnen up the roads like back in the day:(
Location
now a days all cars look the same. im only 20 but boy was i born in the wrong era
If they could only tell the tell of days long ago...what could we learn from um...
Where is it at. I'm looking for is panel truck phone no
My problem is I wish I could save them all.😪
Nice to look at but mostly 4 door rusted out vehicles. Too bad.
I just hate to see old cars like that just sit there
where is this located please
Where is this do they have the phone number I can call
Thank you Sir.
That corvair truck was a rare one it was a ramp side very rare
Sad, sad, such great american cars rusting away
I wonder how much it would cost to ship one of these to the UK
Those were cars, some serious iron in those babies!unlike the high tech pieces of crap they make now, touch screen everything in cars now,and that's why they are so expensive, its not the quality, because all they are are plastic sardine cans!!Ii would not buy any new car,you can't work on them anymore, you have to pay someone to hook it up on a computer to find out what the stupid code means so it can be fixedam a proud owner of a 66 charger, and I do all of my own repairs on her
Iam
i love your vidoes about the junk yards
hey do u know if he has any 1969 chevelles or 1972 malibu
if only I had the money I would buy and restore the lot

hell i.d pay to walk through that yard
I wish I lived somewhere with a junkyard like that.
the Cadillac is a 55 Cadillac Fleetwood
Love those monte carlos, hell i love them all, wish i was very wealthy id buy the yard and resore as many of them as possible, seams like a peaceful calm there
VERY AWESOME VID DRAY!!!! :)
Thanks for the tour.
Great video man ! Just bums out the grass growing underneath them . Grass and moisture can do some severe damage in time . Overall thanks for the video ! Memories of my youth from watching this video .
Thanks for sharing this trip down memory lane ...I had some of those cars when I was a young lad - Mustangs ,Nova, Chevy Impala , a bunch of Camaro's .....I didn't see any MGB's ..I had a few of them . I now own a 2010 Chevy Camaro , look's retro. Thanks again From Canada
it's nice to see that these timeless cars will one day be like the cars they were decades ago. Would be a shame if they remained shells of their former glory days
Nice vidéo! I could picture some people doing a Woodstock Festival, all around these cars. Imagine all the people that died out and all the stories that took place in those vehicules. It must be spooky and yet exciting, just to walk around that salvage yard looking at these old phantom ghosts. Johnny from Montreal Canada.
If you go back this fall can you see if theres any 66 gtos out there?I plan to do a diesel in a 66 some day :)
Like to have one them 57 chevys
This guy is really likable, but he doesn't show us enough. I'm hungry for more of this stuff. The wooden Nash wheel is called an artillery wheel, and I'm guessing it's between 1920 and 1930.
Ok, just checking, community of Possum Grape? Wow, lets talk about that name...
Thanks for sharing Mr.D'Ray I enjoyed the ride into the past. My fav. Times as a youngster in the 60s and 70s were junkyard hopping with my father and passing that along to my kids in the 80's and 90's. Now its not so easy in 2019 to enjoy those days of wondering through those salvage yards. Everything is gold plated and not affordable....
Very nice, :)
I love junk yards of vintage cars so much! 💘👍 IS IT STILL THERE? (I HOPE!)
I see we've a very similar taste in old cars ;)
The favorit in your Video is the 65(-69) Chevy Corvair 4 door Hardtop ❤
I'm restoring a '67 Chevy Caprice/Impala 4 Door Hardtop & i like especially the 4 Door Hardtop bodystyle (not only Chevys - at all vintage cars this is my favorit bodystyle. Because I think a 4 Door Body without the B-Pillar is so fantastic looking! :)
Thank you for the Video about this historic & amazing place of dreams! 😉👍
🍀If you (or anyone) can help me to find some parts for my restoration^^ -or a junk yard or anything else what can help me to get some parts, i would be so grateful to you!🍀 Thank you
Classics , music is just right !
Couldnt finish the video. Too many chevys. Every car show you go to there are a ton of Chevy. They are so common at car shows I got to where i dont even look at them anymore. There not even rare.
I'd be interested in the 47 or 48 chevy fleetline also that 62 black impala next to that blue 65 impala.is there a number to this place if they for sale.
I love looking at really cool old cars with their wacky styling from decades past. It fills me with wonder looking at all these old cars (whether they're particularly desirable, or not?) It's great you took the time to record this. Like you say, a rare sight nowadays...
Terrific outdoor museum without a doubt. Hope its all still there since you've posted this video. Good one indeed!!!!
Thank you for what you are doing it brought back many memories. I would suggest that you walk the yard first with a note pad to identify the cars you will hi-light and anytime you see one of those old Chryslers look under the hood; some of them had the first "hemi" in them, highly collectable!
Beautiful cars
i love your walk around the yard.......all the old cars and stuff.......i could spend weeks just looking at old cars. nice vid
Where is Possum Grape?
can you buy the whole car here or no
It's crazy how people don't take care of things they own. There are plenty of old original cars still on the road because people took care of them.
I enjoyed that little look round, wondering what stories each car could tell, once every one was someones pride and joy! I love the Corvair pick up, never seen one before. Great vid.
PartingOut is a site where these cars need to be posted as a whole and let all us car lovers request the parts off of them. People who have these cars get tired of looking, confirming & sending pictures to buyers who never follow through. Make an offer that states who, where and what along with a price that you are willing to pay and then we can help you. That is how buyers and sellers deal on PartingOut. I personally have several thousand cars and over 500 pre1980s cars that are parts cars.
