This Defined the PSP...

  • For me the defining factor of the PSP was the amazing "middle quality" games for it. The PS2 games that were ported down to the PSP, but kept much of the same content in place.
This was the case particularly for many, many, sports and racing games on the platform, particularly before 2007. These games were ambitious, and looked really good on the small screen.
For me, it is these often forgotten games that define the PSP for me, rather than the games that normally make people's "top 10 PSP games" list.

I've been making videos on this channel since 2013. A lot has changed since then, but today I make videos for the same reason someone may keep a diary.
It's to track and chronicle the things I am interested in at various points of my life. These videos are something for me to be able to look back on.
So why are you here? Because video games are fun and worth sharing! If that's a journey you want to be a part of, like the video and subscribe to the channel.

People don't understand, getting a brand new PSP in your hands back then felt like you were holding something sent back from the future.

Still crazy to me that the thing came out in 2005 and we had those graphics in a handheld.

On the ps vita here.. running the games on ps vita native resolution makes the games look super clean. With modded dual joystick support for many games it is a life changer. You can really enjoy the love put into these games

I've been into Nintendo collecting (GBA, Gamecube, DS, 3DS) since about 2019, and we've had some conversations about it. PSP was definitely prominent in my childhood and I've had thoughts about maybe snagging a console and starting a small physical PSP collection (while also homebrewing digital games). Any opinions? Would love to talk about it over Twitter DMs too if interested!

My personal experience with Nintendo games and psp games is that. If you like Nintendos first party offerings then you'll be right at home however if you don't care for Mario or just like third party games more the psp has some big hitters that are definitely worth checking out

When it's come to the GBA people always talked about the same 10 games for me Metroid, Mario, Zelda or Golden Sun ect... But PSP had some of the best games in gaming history. NBA Street, GTA , God of War , Naruto and BDZ games the list goes on it's basically a mini PS2 plus on top of that movies, internet, music it's was ahead of it time!

The PSP port of Battlefront 2 was so cool even with how downsized it was. That and the first 3 Lego games which were direct ports of the PS2 versions
