The Padua tramway, which came into operation in the Venetian city on 24 March 2007, is a public transport line, managed by Busitalia Veneto S.p.A., 55% owned by Busitalia Nord and 45% by APS Padova. Unlike the one in operation until the 1950s, it is not a classic tramway, but uses the New Translohr-type guided system.

Splendido Samu!!!!!
come al solito sei troppo gentile Marco!!!
Bel video! I tram della famiglia New Translohr sono molto sottovalutati e anche criticati, però a me piacciono tantissimo!
grazie Dennis, piacciono molto anche a me, è anche vero che presentano mille problematiche...
Thanks for showing - Padova seems very advanced - big university here ?. Quite unusual this single rail system with no pantograph Is there a cable pulling the tram, like in San Francisco Usa ? The pantograph at the stop is to charge the battery for the lights ? 🇦🇺
Thank you, yeah in Padua there is a famous university (like Bologna, Catania, ....) , no the Translohr systems is powered by the overhead line and collected by a pantograph. The vehicle has batteries to be used when the route is not electrified. Unfortunately, this system is very controversial: the advantages are that it is much simpler than a ''classic'' tram and is more similar to a trolleybus but with tracks, the disadvantages are that it often suffers derailments (in Padua since 2010 it has happened 6 times), in Italy it is only present in Padua and Venice, but it should have also been in L'Aquila and Latina, while in the world there are few examples such as Paris, Clermont - Ferrand, Medellin, ....
Translohr... interesting
fr bro, only a few trams systems have it, so it is rly particular
