  • This video describes an inexpensive alternative to repairing a stripped screw from the brush motor housing for an iRobot Roomba Robot Vacuum.
The repair uses Bondo, which is better than other silicone based adhesives (the others fall out after one use).
You can buy Bondo here: www.amazon.com/3M-Bondo-Solut...
The repair works for the following models:
    Roomba 900 Series (all)
    Roomba 980
    Roomba 960
    Roomna 800 Series (all)
    Roomba 880
    Roomba 870
    Roomba 860
    Roomba 700 Series (all)
    Roomba 770
    Roomba 600 Series (all)
    Roomba 650
    Roomba 500 Series (all)
The repair saves $25-35 compared to the cost of a replacement side bush motor.

Thanks… it seems a little unorthodox, this made me realize the options available!

Almost a year later, has the repair held?

Soooooooooo if "Bondo sticks to anything" how did the screw come back out after it was dry? That just tells me it won't last once it starts smashing against walls and table legs.

I wonder if you could just let it harden w/o the screw, then drill a pilot hole and let the screw cut its own threads into the bond.
