- HTC U23 Pro Review: The Ultimate Mid-Range Smartphone?
0:00 - Intro
This is the HTC U23 Pro, a phone that offers a powerful blend of solid hardware and streamlined software.
0:31 - Design
First, let’s start with the design. Physically, the U23 Pro boasts a large 6.7-inch OLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, known for its outstanding durability and resistance to scratches and accidental drops, significantly enhancing the phone's overall robustness and durability.
The design is in line with modern aesthetics. It hosts a centered hole-punch cutout for the front camera, and a quad-camera setup on the back. For durability, the phone features an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, ensuring it can handle accidental splashes or dust exposure.
Finally, a notably unique feature of the U23 Pro in the modern era of smartphones is the inclusion of a headphone jack. This offers flexibility to users who prefer or need to use wired headphones, and can be a deciding factor for many potential buyers.
1:31 - Display
Now, let’s talk about the display. The HTC U23 Pro is outfitted with a large and vibrant 6.7-inch OLED display. The screen resolution is Full HD+, specifically 1080x2400 pixels.
The aspect ratio of the screen is 20:9. With a pixel density of 393 PPI, the screen delivers detailed and sharp visuals.
The display type is OLED. OLED panels are known for their excellent contrast ratio, deep black levels, and vibrant color reproduction. They can individually light or turn off each pixel, leading to a high contrast ratio and true black representation. This type of display also usually has excellent color accuracy, providing a rich and dynamic viewing experience.
In terms of brightness, the phone offers good brightness levels that allow for clear visibility even in outdoor environments. Additionally, it can adapt to various lighting conditions to provide optimal visibility.
The U23 Pro also features a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes the user interface smoother and more responsive. This high refresh rate enhances the visual experience when scrolling through your feed, playing games, or watching videos that support this feature.
Regarding viewing angles, the phone offers excellent viewing angles, with minimal color and contrast shifts even when viewed from sharp angles.
3:20 - Camera
Now, let’s talk about the camera. The HTC U23 Pro boasts a versatile quad-camera setup on the rear. This setup includes a massive 108MP primary sensor equipped with Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The high 108MP count of the primary camera sensor coupled with an aperture size of f 1.7 means that it can capture a large amount of detail.
The 8MP f 2.4 ultra-wide lens is a beneficial addition, providing a broader field of view.
The 5MP f 2.2 macro lens allows for extreme close-up photography, typically of very small subjects, where the details captured are usually missed by the human eye.
The 2MP f 2.4 depth sensor is used primarily for portrait shots, creating a bokeh effect by blurring the background while keeping the subject in sharp focus.
On the front, the phone features a 32MP f 2.5 selfie camera. This high-resolution sensor should ensure detailed and sharp selfies.
And finally, the phone records videos up to 4K at 30 fps with the main camera, and up to 1080p at 30 fps with the selfie camera.
5:58 - Battery
Now, let’s talk about the battery. The HTC U23 Pro comes with a 4,600mAh battery capacity.
In terms of charging, the phone supports 30W wired fast charging. Given the battery capacity of the device, this feature should allow the phone to go from zero to full charge in approximately one to two hours. In addition to wired charging, the U23 Pro also features 15W wireless charging. On top of that, the phone also features 5W reverse charging, both wired and wireless.
7:14 - Hardware and Performance
Now, let’s talk about the hardware and performance. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, coupled with an Adreno 644 GPU.
In terms of RAM, the HTC U23 Pro is equipped with a substantial 12GB.
The phone comes with 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card.
8:56 - Software and User Interface
Now, let’s talk about the software and user interface. The HTC U23 Pro runs on Android 13. As far as manufacturer customizations are concerned, HTC uses its own custom skin known as HTC Sense. HTC Sense is typically appreciated for its clean, minimalistic aesthetic, which doesn't deviate too far from the "stock" Android look, and for its additional features that aim to enhance usability.

HTC is one of the Pioneer Android Phone maker…. I used to have HTC units before…
Man, you deserve more followers!
Nice content!
Thank you very much!
Just for sd card support i will pick this one as a daily driver 📱
I really hope HTC can find it's marketplace. Not everyone needs the superlativo ultra pro max magnum bombastico edition of a smartphone. Hope HTC will have learned it's lesson not to mess up with camera software since 108 MP is plenty of resolutions and needs a careful adaptation in software turning RAW into jpeg or HEIF.
Bring back htc sense & boom sound.
A nice HTC 2024 pro,a realy high featured device is needed;hope such is in work!I remember to the HTC Desire......great times! Thanks for this video!

If you used this phone on 90hz would the battery get you a full day with heavy use including gaming (so around 7hrs screen on time) ?
Beutiful HTC.. HTC Nexus One
Does anyone know how to get the screenshot icon without using the the volume button/power button please?
Is there the old weather widget of HTC s?
A BIG mis-fire. What made HTC special was their UI on top of Android. Now all we have is pure Android. It's like any other generic Android phone at the store. I needed this cause I didn't wanna go back to Samsung and now this is a hard pass.
Nice
Sterio hoparlör varmı
Wowww I thought they left the market 😭
Well the battery isn't even that big compared to others in the mid range everyone is like above 5000 mAh
why 7gen 1 when 2 is out
To keep the pricing range of 600 dollars I think
@@silverback6233 I don't get it 7 gen 6gen phones shouldn't be above 350

HTC's back?
No it’s a midrange with no innovation on it

@silverback6233 I needed this phone and now I won't guy it. Why they went with pure Android is beyond me. Big misstep. I don't wanna go back to SAMSUNG and now I have no choice but to.
Why htc does not remix his old htc sense interface? Without htc sense htc is just another brand . Why buy an htc again , I was a fan ,but now 😂 hum
