I seen your truck and kayaks at the Chinese restaurant in Scottsboro AL. I had just finished eating and started to come back in and say hi but I figured you would rather enjoy your meal. If I see out and about would love to meet ya
Gene, an assegai is a small spear used by the isiZulu nation here in South Africa since about 1820 when the king Shaka taught them to cut the shaft ot the spear in half so they could use the assegai for stabbing or throwing it at an enemy or animal.
I originally had a ton of rods and reels that were technique specific. I realized that I had too many rods especially for bank fising. I upgraded my rods and reels this year and have 3 baitcasters and 2 spinning rods and reel set ups.
Hey Gene, great video! Question, the rods you use are they all graphite/carbon? Would you recommend using glass rod(s) while kayaking? I was gifted a Diahwa glass spinning rod and wondered if it would be good to add to my kayak setup. It's a 7' 3k reel I setup with 40lb braid.
A Crank bait, chatter-bait rod would be more of medium with good bend (parabolic) to allow load up and prevent pulling the lure out of the fish’s mouth. A frog rod would be a med-heavy to heavy with fast tip for backbone with 65 LB braid.
I’m a poor shore fisherman, so I can’t afford a) a lot of rods and b) really tall rods (harder to cast from wooded areas)- any suggestions if I’m just looking to bring 2-3 rods on a trip? Just shore fishing lakes/ponds/rivers. Cheers
One heavy action, one medium heavy and one medium spinning rod. Those can throw about 80 to 90 percent of bass fishing techniques. Are you a top water, middle of the water or bottom fishing usually?
@@stephensharples8686 I mix it up just trying to get on the bite yk how it is. Thanks for the response tho I need to add a good spinner to the mix here soon my old hand me down Shakespeare needs an upgrade 😂
I was really trying to pay attention but that hat just kept me distracted. Dang Dawgs smh 😂. You can't wear that and fish Bama waters and the states best lakes that's just wrong man 😂😂.
@@Flukemaster it will be pour you if them crazy Bama fans see ya 😂😂😂 I'm just messing with ya. I live in east central Bama but I'm a Vols fan lol. Ive been a Vols fan since I was teen thanks to Bill Dance and Bama firing my coach back then lol.

It’s so nice to see all these videos from you. Do you have a video or can you do one on improving accuracy on cast?
That would be awesome…
Could you test out some of there travel rods
Great video and information thank you
We saw your truck @ rocky mountain in Rome today.
I have some of the kastking reels just don't have the money yet for any of the kastking rods
The rods are WAY better than the reels in my opinion! Big fan of the Speed Demon rods!

Great info thanks Gene!
Great vid appreciate the knowledge man!!!
Looking for a good rod to fish 5xd etc?
I need a new rod. Can’t decide between a frog rod or a shallow crank bait rod.

I have the Kast King Speed Demon Squarebill Rod and I love it. Use it for jerkbaits too!
Good video 🤛
I thought you went to all Kasting equipment
Do you still have your boat?
He does but is working on selling it the kayak content and kayak guiding is a better platform for his business right now I believe.

Tyler handles some monster bass on his KASTKING gear. Ty always has a speed demon on gand. KastKING is really stepping up their gear.
