Great video. I learned something about the preservation. Great idea to use one bolt on each board until it dries and then take it off and preserve the steel and the wood. Loved it. Thanks
I bought a broken, one tire flat. 75$ it’s my turn... just got a titanium 225 stik welder. You going in regular speed is awesome, hyper speed that’s inspiring!!!
Guys… just a word of caution: grind off as much zinc ( galvanized) as possible before welding. Very toxic fumes created whilst burning. And will weaken your welds. I’ve been doing metal fab for decades since I was about 12. FYI those stringers will be much stronger load bearing turned 90* long side vertical. Blessings guys!
I myself plan on doing something like this with a 19ft boat trailer I picked up few weeks ago for $100. I race lawn mowers so plan to fix it to haul them on to and from the track
About to do a similar deal. One thing that seems apparent on the one I'm going to work on is the same as yours. The axle needs to be moved forward a bit or most of the weight will rest on the tongue and not the wheels. Yours looks easier for that than mine as my fenders are quite solid and large and welded to the frame.
No are not centered. You need to maintain a certain amount of tongue weight. Been using this trailer a while now and it trails perfect. As with any trailer you have to load it smart as to place the load where the trailer will perform best
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina I do understand what you are implying. but my experience to much tongue weight is nearly as bad as no tongue . None the less, not trying to give you a hard time. I like channel and I do subscribe. Look back it looks like spell ck did work lol, but you got message. Thank you for content. I have learn from channel even as and as old man still learning
I have a son that helps me in the shop on big projects. Fun to pass on the knowledge. He is a professional IT person so he now teaches me more than I teach him.

Glad it was helpful!
Really like the song selection for this video, goes well with this type of hyperlapse video.

Thanks you, good luck, I hope yours turns out as good or better than mine. I love mine it works fantastic.

That should easily get the job done. I use my trailer a lot. Much easier to load and unload than using a truck. thanks for watching

"calcumalation" is my new favorite word, lol!!! Thank you!
Mine too! Thanks for watching and enjoying my humor.
I really like what you did, but my concern would be toug weight, the axle needs to be more centered.
Just my opinion.

I like the axle unbolt it and slide it where it's needed.
Me too. Thanks for watching
Nice rugged looking build so far, can't wait to see it finished.
Awesome video man!
Glad you enjoyed it
Is that galvanized your welding ? I didn’t know you could mig weld galvanized, I thinks I’m going to do this too
no it is not. You can weld galvanized coated steel but you do NOT and I repeat do NOT breathe the fumes, they are poisonous
Very cool idea
i hope you had a couple boys!... they would have learned alot... this coming from a guy who learned tons from his dad... and still am for that matter!

@@Michaelsbackyardmarina I'm a lady w/a hardworking husband & 4 daughters, & we're gonna do this. :) I just snagged one of these for free.
What did you use to weld this together?
Miller 185 mig welder
Great video thanks for the info🤘
No problem 👍
How the registration from boat trailer to utility trailer?
I just registered it as a home built trailer.
