actually nothing wrong with the dish except like what uncle Roger said.
1. olive oil
2. peanut butter (I suggest the peanuts are fried or roasted first)
3. soy sauce & fish sauce (this is for satay peanut sauce)

and we do blanch the veggies first, in sumatra at least. because I know sundanese people often eats raw veggies

You guys don't have prawn crackers? In every Chinese, Malaysian and Thai restaurant in Australia you get a bag of prawn crackers free with your meal. They are like fried rice crackers that don't really taste of prawns but are really tasty.
You mention all those Indonesian neighboring countries but the origin country of the prawn crackers itself!
I'm pretty sure Indonesian restaurant is quite a lot in Australia.
