Being honest this whole Ramen video felt confusing because he used Star Anise which isn’t something you use in Ramen at all, Kimchi is Korean not Japanese. The dish is LITERALLY called "Ramen" FFS...
You can't just randomly change main ingredients in a traditional dish and call it the same name!
Imagine ordering a Pizza Margherita and it turns up with anchovies, olives and pepperoni on it... It wouldn't be Pizza Margherita anymore would it?!!!
How the hell can Jamie Olive Oil not understand this?!
What J.O.O has made is just some random miso noodle-soup concoction - NOT Ramen. 🙄

Btw, he did end up putting that giant dense ball of spinach in the soup as is. I think he sprinkled some sesame seeds on it. lol

How does Jamie manage to fail every single time? Did he actually go to the Asian supermarket, & say "Oh, i feel like making Japanese Ramen today", & then he goes & buys Soba noodles instead of Ramen noodles.
These are two different type of noodles used for completely two different style of noodles. They have their own unique style & flavour. Jamie is just taking the piss here.
He did NOT prepare the Chashu properly, its white as a white person, no offense to white people, but this is NOT the way to make Chashu for Ramen. At least colour the damn meat a little bit. The fact that Jamie tries to use Soba noodles & call it Ramen noodles is beyond belief, he should know better because hes supposed to be a professional chef. Maybe this is why all his restaurants are all failures, & are being closed down.
Ramen noodles isn't that difficult to make, its the prep work that goes into it that takes a long time, usually Japanese prepare the ingredients a day before or the night before they start cooking, for a Japanese restaurant, they take a much more longer time to even make the soup base/Tare. If done correctly, it tastes really good. Don't follow Jamies recipe here, it looks bad & it is bad.

The thing with soba is that it has a very delicate flavour, it's the reason why it's often eaten plain and you only lightly dip it in tsuyu sauce. I could forgive it if he's using something like udon or egg noodles, but soba???
