very clear and to the point. gracias amigo
The best tutorial video on Rebel 500 oil change I've seen! Thank you.
Thank you
Really good video man but you do not want to put the drain plug back in before you remove the oil filter because when you remove the oil filter more oil come out through the drain plug
thanks man, your explanation and attention to detauils, makes this video very valuable
If you do have the measurement, then will be an easy for you to fill up
2.7lit with oil filter.
Great video
Thank you.
Super helpful thanks
What headlight cowl do you have?
pero si eso es aceite de camion ,madre mia.
Hi mike, today i make oil change and filter on my rebel 500. Without checking level glass i poor 2.7 lt ( 2.9 quarts ) when i check glass i see oil level over upper line. Any recomendations?
You are checking while the bike is standing upright off the stand correct? If so and it’s over the top line then you can open the drain bolt and very carefully let just a little oil out. Some people will also use a syringe and some plastic fuel line to suck it out form the fill hole
How come on the manual, it says to only do the drain plug on the 8000 mile mark?
Do you have a link for crush washers.. ? I used the Rotella 15-40 in my 1600 Road Star for a while but the Rebel oil specks are for 10 wt. 30 wt oil. I suppose if you are in hot climate the higher numbers on the Rotella 15wt 40wt will be okay right ? Also do you know if Honda factory oil is synthetic or not ? Oil is 27.99 at Walmart now ....geeze Thanks Kit
Hey Moto, get your hand out of the view line of the drain hole once you've opened it! You blocked the view of the draining oil with your handing the way. Doug
I'll bare that in mind for future tutorials
What paddock stand do you use?
I picked it up on the FB market place for $15. Doesn't have any labels on it anymore so not sure who made it. Harbor freight sells one for $35 that works on these bikes though.
where did you get that sissy bar bro ?
I get that question a lot lol. I got it for free off someone who sold their Rebel. I don't know who makes it though. It doesn't have any manufacturer markings either.
stick with the oil the engineers recommend. YOu don't know better than they do.
My friend I think you are using the wrong oil
Research Rotella T6 use in motorcycles. It's common because the oil is JASO MA/MA2 certitified for wet clutch engines. I explain that in the video.
@@MotoMedicine904 thank you I did get that from your video. The viscosity is still wrong vs what the honda manual stipulates. If you were under the warranty period honda would not honor the warranty as you used the wrong oil specification, according to Honda.
