Makes sense: that game has a lot of intricate politics in it, including an anarchy option. Doubt the GY!BE members play games like it, but one would wonder their reaction to the storyline.
Say what you will about Godspeed, I dont think Ive ever come across more human music than this. Its every second is filled with so much life. Not a perspective of life. Life itself. In all its glorious imperfection. For some reason the line "Rage, rage against the dying of the light" pops in my head as I listen to this. Its as though this song is an age old story, sometimes etched into walls, sometimes passed down through generations, being retold in different mediums but never losing its essence. A story of the weak and flawed humans, in their utter servitude to countless powers greater than themselves, choosing to rise up and despite their innumerable limitations refusing to give up, no matter what adversity they may face. All I hear in this is struggle, and thats arguably one of the most human things ever. To all the people commenting their stories of pain and struggle, just remember that you contain the matter of stars within you, you are an instantiation of the entire universe itself. While struggle is inevitable, we always carry the tools necessary to overcome, sometimes we gain the answers from deep within ourselves - from the universe itself. Best of luck and God bless.
"Ashes in the Snow" by Mono is not bad either... nor "Dreamlands" by Her Name is Calla. But I do agree that "Moya" is like some kind of tidal wave. Very powerful.
If you ever catch wind that these beautiful people are playing somewhere where you can make the show, do it. Even if you don't necessarily like 'rock' music, go - this is food for the soul, a perfect distillation of the human condition in musical format. Every single time I've seen them, I feel like I've been in heaven for a while.

When I first heard this song I laughed hysterically and cried at the same time. I was in the most pure state of joy on earth and absolutely shocked at what I was hearing. No drugs either! Fantastic song and band. Hope I can see them live some day..
I saw them live, once, in Chicago. This song. I... I couldn't stop tears from rolling down my face. I've never been impacted in such a way before simply by music, and I can't say if I ever will again. This comes on, and I swear, every fear I've ever had, every hope, every moment yearning with every cell and strand of hair, it just locks me into place until the dust settles with the last note. This song. This song has the weight of a planet.
yeah. I had to stop listening for a while because I was listening too much. Stopped for so long I forgot why I was listening too much. Finally came back and now I listen to this song every morning and cry in the bathroom. *Therapy*

Sorry for your loss, man. I recently lost one of my best friends, probably due to drug-related cardiac complications, so I definitely get it. Thing is, I should be utterly devastated, and yet I'm really not. Why? Well, this friend was there for me during the darkest period of my entire life - a bitter, lonely morass of sorrow and despondence. When he died, I was finally beginning to free myself of that pitiable state of being, so when he died, though his unanticipated demise tore my heart straight from my chest initially, ultimately I resolved to make a concerted effort to better myself, live up to my full potential, and find solace in my life; no doubt, that's what he would want me to do. I'm sure your friend feels the same way. I hope this helps, dude. Take care of yourself! Peace

The hell i just found out this masterpiece and couldnt believe it was made in 99... this sounds way ahead of its time... these guys are magicians at music
genuinely the best song ever made. a masterpiece. this is what music should be about. ive had this on my ipod for 2 years and it never bores me. so much emotion and build involved. really does actually make me to want to cry at the end. i just wish that when i come out of university, i can be as creative and powerful in my profession as gybe are in music.
Listening to this for my first time and as the thunder still breaches the headphones it just made this already beautiful song more intense. Caught me off guard with the first thunderous sound.
Yeah... This is one of the best songs. Ever. Case closed. No argument to the contrary is needed. MD2020 says "a towering and majestic piece of music" 5/5
Well, no becasue music is subjective, so your little gatekeeping statement is totally and utterly void. Why can't people like you just say that you like something without either having to over-exaggerate or make up some silly elitists standards which nobody adheres to or even recognises?
One of my favorite subtle moments is from 2:35 to 2:47, how the violins sort of cry out over the main melody. There's so much pain and its beautiful and sad
Every note in this recording is just perfectly placed, no matter what you're doing, no matter where you are, you just stop, your breathing slows, and before you know it an undercurrent builds and you get sucked under the water, twisting and turning, for what seems an eternity until you finally get pulled out for a breath, right into a massive wave of pure bliss about to crash into you, then it does, and then it ends, then....you get on again.
i see everybody responding to a question asking what other GYBE songs to check out. ive noticed that there have been no repeats. THATS how good these guys are. every tune is a must-hear, just as much as any other. one simply cannot go wrong with GYBE
Used to listen to this a lot right when COVID was just starting to hit here in the states and everything was shutting down and nobody knew much about it at the time. There really was a "could this be the end of the world" feeling in the air that this EP captured perfectly
This song makes me think of this girl i have the biggest crush on. She's focusing on school rn which i understand. But hearing that slow beginning and it just going and going slow just expresses my feelings towards her. They're not sad or anything like that, but just slowly turning into something beautiful.
Post rock can evoke such deep visceral feelings. GY;BE is so different from Sigur Rós, yet both can be transcendental. The music feels larger than life. Banding it under the genre of post-rock feels confining, hell even banding it under the term 'music' feels so.
when I first listened to this, I hummed the bassline without even hearing it in the mix until the end I felt like I became a member of the band for 2 minutes

If you're looking for epic build-ups like this one, 'Rockets Fall on Rocket Falls' does it for me
Listening to this for my first time and as the thunder still breaches the headphones it just made this already beautiful song more intense. Caught me off guard with the first thunderous sound.
Turn it up to infinity and inject it straight into all of my veins
this is fucking absurd. i just can't comprehend how deep this song is.
I conducted my school orchestra playing this a few months back. It was pretty awesome.
You hold your grief in your chest
You have to breathe you have to breathe
You hold your grief in your chest
You have to sing
You have to sing!
Esto es hermoso , como recordar los momentos más felices de mi vida , pero con nostalgia
Just 9 more days till I see these guys and ladies at Liverpool. Excited doesn't even describe it.
How was it?
+Nabil Sayed Maybe one of the best gigs I've ever been to, they gave them 2 and a half hours to play but it went by so fast
music for the end of the world
Yeah... This is one of the best songs. Ever. Case closed. No argument to the contrary is needed. MD2020 says "a towering and majestic piece of music" 5/5
I'd say Sleep by GY!BE is my favorite, it was like going into another dimensikn the first time I heard it. This is a close second though.
And we used to sleep on the beach here, sleep overnight. They don't do that anymore. Things changed, you see. They don't sleep anymore on the beach...
There's so much pain and its beautiful and sad
i love listening to this while i'm over in a different tab watching youtube videos of people filming their walks through dilapidated cemeteries.
So... beautiful.
"Mo'ya" ... Real Music.

Henryk Górecki, truly genius
"The truth, Walker, is that you're here because you wanted to feel like something you're not: a hero"
The soundtrack of the big bang..
fun fact: the Hebrew is from the book of Genesis
There is no end. We are trapped in an eternal cycle. Such is life.
for me is the sound of post war and Healing after the Pain.
+Vincent Rochette The only trap is perceiving it as a trap.
This song makes any news cast bearable. The music just swells in and overruns it all, and it's just beautiful.
playing along to this with a double bass makes you feel powerful.

LE VIOLON UNE PRESENCE, TROP MAGIFIQUE
So very fortunate to have experienced this live, twice.
Melbourne in Feb. 2013 and Manchester this past April.
Majesty.
Whenever I listen to this song I close my eyes and I'm somewhere between space and time :-)
Will someday one day when all is set and done we will gain eternal peace? Will we?
They say the sun will explode one day
this music will always be ahead of it's time.
This one gives me weird dark apocalyptic vibes
GSY in a nutshell
mindblowing. not music, this is heaven.
i see everybody responding to a question asking what other GYBE songs to check out.
ive noticed that there have been no repeats.
THATS how good these guys are. every tune is a must-hear, just as much as any other. one simply cannot go wrong with GYBE
This is up there on a “songs I wish I could hear again for the first time” list

Man...Tales of the Past III ... that's where I know that track from ...Truly powerful
Used to listen to this a lot right when COVID was just starting to hit here in the states and everything was shutting down and nobody knew much about it at the time. There really was a "could this be the end of the world" feeling in the air that this EP captured perfectly
Pure love. Death. Haunting. Longing. Thats what this song means to me.
Tartışmasız dünyanın en harika müziği
we lost the sea - bogatyri'den sonra
This song makes me think of this girl i have the biggest crush on. She's focusing on school rn which i understand. But hearing that slow beginning and it just going and going slow just expresses my feelings towards her. They're not sad or anything like that, but just slowly turning into something beautiful.
Post rock can evoke such deep visceral feelings. GY;BE is so different from Sigur Rós, yet both can be transcendental. The music feels larger than life. Banding it under the genre of post-rock feels confining, hell even banding it under the term 'music' feels so.
This song makes me think of a non-existing place where's called Paradise of Hell. This song's soul must be living in there as my mental state does.
3:49 - 7:45 amazingly sad. This song was perfect background music for a fantasy trilogy that I read a few months ago.
I allllllmost hear the motif from Elliott Smith's "Everything Means Nothing To Me" in the post-8:45 eruption mark
Don't know how I've never noticed that before, interesting catch!
kafanın içinde bin yıllık paslı gemiler var
I am physically unable to skip this song
If I could choose a theme song for my life, I'd pick *THIS ONE.*
Una canción hermosa, me cambió la vida para siempre
Truly magnificent. Thank you so much
when I first listened to this, I hummed the bassline without even hearing it in the mix until the end
I felt like I became a member of the band for 2 minutes
this song is shaking my worldview
amazing
MERAVIGLIA
I shook hands with Mike Moya. I'll never forget that day.
