Just did this, there was a module above this plug so I couldn't get it out. I note another comment about taking out this extra module. I couldn't be bothered so I just snipped the green and blue wire, added an extension and grounded it to a nearby screw, works a charm. There is 1 large green/blue and 2 thin green/blue wires. From watching this video I took a punt and luckily it paid off. From looking into the dash through the openings it is the cable on the right, nearest drivers door side, if that makes any sense.
Thanks for this…grounding wire worked a treat.Note for others… above that brown plug you have to remove I had a headlamp control module mounted that isn’t on this video and that prevented me from being able to pull the clip lever and remove the brown plug. It was a real bugger to get to the screws to remove that module… I needed a 90deg screwdriver…but it’s just 2 screws Thanks again
Just a tip, try grounding it out after the rear axle sensor (yellow wire) and it may fix the problem and you will still have working brake wear sensors. if not then you have a wire issue from abs module to the sensors. then you can bypass it, if you dont need your sensors.
Hi there, I've got the same problem, I've had a new bcm put in, but since that, abs light comes on and hill start assist also, break pad wear was on before, so would it be worth replacing that wiring loom? And is it hard to replace? Thanks
It’s a common issue when folks change the rear pads they do not clip the wires in properly at the rear left. When the vehicle travels at speed the plug and socket waves around. I’ve found the break on a few, always in the same area, on the van side of the plug socket just where the wires dissapear into the insulation. I usually peel it back and solder a new section in.
Couldnt get the connector out because it had a lighting module above it but i got a T crimp on the blue green wire and ground it out connected the battery back up and turned on ignition and no warning drove off the drive and warning came on again checked t crimp and ground connected battery back up did same again no warning but when i drove off came on again any ideas
Hei. I have European version , these connector is on the left side of the van. I took out the connector , it looks the same.. but the third cable in second row is not blue and green. It's only blue. Should I cut it ? :)
Hi There, Thats interesting, I've always had no problems with the methods above. You've potentially got one different to the ones I've seen in that case. You'd need to find a wiring diagram specific to your van unfortunately if it's not the same as I've described. Steve
Hola buen día yo tengo un Ford tránsit modelo 2018 motor 2.2 diesel tengo problema en arranque me aparece en el tablero inmovilizador activado véase manual?
the cable you pointed to isn't the one that goes into the hole , as the hole was on the 2nd row, but when you flick it over the cable you point to and describe is on the 1st row.. sorry i have no wires going to the 2nd row lol
Hiya pal. Couple question if you don't mind. I'll sub if you can answer for me. I've a 2014 2.2 Custom. Traction Control randomply lights up, Break Pad Wear Service Now constant, now started going in to Limp too with P2599 2598. Could the Traction Control/Brake Wear cause Limp and false codes for Turbo? Van drive great normally. Had it up to 95 couple days back then Limp on motorway. Went away when i slowed and kept it to 60. 98k on it and it's mint. Just serviced too. Also how do you Ground Out? :O Cheers.
Are there common places to check for wear on the wiring for this issue or is it a case of trying to trace the wires as they split to each brake if you want to repair it? Anyone seen a video of someone doing the faultfinding in the loom? Edit: ah - I'll have a look as per this video ruclips.net/video/CWOwje7_jwE/видео.html - yet another terrible design decision causing wear, Ford? Amazing. It's turbo pipe time all over again..
Sorted mine in about an hour from using this video and I didn’t have a clue before.
Thanks for saving me going insane 👍

Do I just T section clip to ground? Or cut the blue green wire and re route to earth of the frame?😊
@ThePriceyShow I'm not sure either mate. How did you ground the wire?
Done it on my Ford transit mk8 ,2015 RWD 2.2d
Works well.
Very useful video.
Don't have break pad warning lights anymore.

Hi, is there also a way to do this with the headlight warning light as well as the brakes? My van is lit up like a Christmas tree.

Is this system only available for the Transit or also for other Ford models such as Focus, Fiesta Smax etc.?
Thanks for your video had the problem intermittently for 2 years that sorted it 👍 👌
Do I just T section clip to ground? Or cut the blue green wire and re route to earth of the frame?
Amazing thank you, worked perfectly! :)
My 2017 transit custom is different the fuse box is not the same Is this the earlier model 2.2 ?
Is this the same pins for the mk8 fwd 350 non custom models

Hey is there a wire I can earth out for the brake light warning light as bulbs are all working
Great content. Can I ask if cable 21 at ABS module is also blue wire with green trace as they don’t seem to be numbered?
Any advice much appreciated.
Hi my plug different is wire the same colour on different plug
Thank you do I leave the pin in or do I remove the wiring and then ground it out ? Again thanks for this info
Does the battery still need to be disconnected when you ground out ?
Thanks

You can do either. I'd just tee into it and ground it to the chassis.

SO JUST WERE OR HOW HAVE YOU FOUND PIN OUT INFO FOR THIS REPAIR
The full wiring diagrams are available to authorised repairers via the Ford Tech Service online systems.
Thanks , its not one of those systems that get HEADLINE, i FOUND IT AFTER A LOTTA DIGGING@@TuningShed
What about transit mk8 2015
works perfect. thanks.
When you say ground it out why do you actually mean. Sorry not a mechanic. Do I push the pin out?
You'd need to connect it to the chassis of the vehicle, or negative battery (-). 👍
Do I just T section clip to ground? Or cut the blue green wire and re route from the computer clip to earth?
when you cut the wire do you ground the loose wire or the wire coming out of the multi connector@@TuningShed
@@1963col The wire that comes from the connector. You can ground both ends out if it helps with no detrimental effects.
what did you do ?
@@ThePriceyShow
Thank you!
