You missed a feature 😏 If you lock the car with the BMW Button with a quick 1 press and then within 5 sec press BMW button again briefly the Red light under the internal mirror will flash, this then disables your internal movement sensors, allowing car to be fully locked with windows left open. 😏
Not sure if this is unique to 2018/2019 models, but if you put the key-fob in your jeans pocket, you'll find the tailgate open when you come back to the car..
@@toms_garage That seems to be the case, and there's lots of reports of it in the forums. Fitting a key case reduces the problem, but doesn't solve it completely. I read somewhere that BMW could code the tailgate release to only work with a double press, and maybe that's what they do as standard now.
@@Choppit53 oh maybe, I can't say I have ever had this issue in the 1.5 years of ownership with this X3 or the 4 years of ownership of the F10 5 series. I like the sound of a key cover
Ok video. It's ok to call them hidden, just means it's not obvious by looking at the fob. Go easy on Tom! My only issue is that the video could be more useful if it starts with the programming of the fob.
I have a narrow garage doorway. On the 2021 X3 with Premium Enhanced package - as you slowly approach your garage, can you fold the mirrors IN, and continue advancing into the garage to park and the mirrors stay IN? Conversely , when you want to back out of the garage, do the mirrors remain folded in until you pass through the narrow doorway, and then you can open them OUT, when there is room to do so? Thanks👍
Yeah BMW have had keyless go for about 10 years now. Keyless entry is an option, even though my X3 was optioned to nearly £50,000 it still doesn't get that feature.
They're not so much hidden features, you just have to read the manual :-) The window (and sunroof) open/close from the key have been around for years, my 2004 X5 had it as standard.
Maybe it's just me but I had all those options in my Opel Insignia from 2010! So new is just unfit description for me. BTW I presume that older BMWs also had those features. And hidden meaning for people who don't read the instructions manual.
Thanks for watching, I never claimed anything new and most cars have similar features these days. I made this video for owners or potential BMW X3 owners, so they know what their car can do.

Thank you! I never knew about that! I have pinned your comment so others may know too!
I did it and there is red flash under the mirror. When I unlock-lock the car this red flash still on. How can I reactivate internal movement sensors?
@@clothy8165 it reactivates once ignition turned on and you lock the car normally again it’s one click
I can finally leave the dog in the car without the alarm going off
That "Garagen" got me

do you accidentally push the boot opening button?

that is cool!
Can you check if there is a preconditioning in the settings for remote engine start
We don't get engine remote start in the UK due to emissions. You can set the climate to come on using the iDrive.
@@toms_garage ohh ok thanks for the quick reply
@@toms_garageDo you know how we can do this? I have a 21 plate 8 Series GC and the diamond button seems to be useless.

What are the small clear lights in the bumper for? If the halos are the DRLs?
fog lights
it's weird that they don't offer remote start! My friends 2018 honda has that
Thank you
Is this what the key fob looks like for only M model of the X3? What does the regular 2021 X3 key fob look like?
Chi Pham yeah but without the stripes
You don’t have the bip bip when you close the doors ?
is that not an American thing?
No keyless entry? It uses a start stop button for ignition right?
