  • Two shark attacks reported Friday resulted in injuries to three people in the Florida Panhandle.
The attacks were only 4 miles apart in Walton County at Watersound Beach and at Seacrest Beach. A 45-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital and underwent an amputation to her lower left arm at the first beach. Two teenage girls between the ages of 15 and 17 were hospitalized after they were attacked at the second beach.

That news reporter told a major lie. He said Hammerhead sharks do NOT attack humans, and this is a total untruth. The top killer sharks, in order, are the Great White, Tiger Shark, Hammerhead and Bull shark. All the other varieties can still attack, but they do not have a high record of known attacks as the top four mentioned.

They are not aggressive towards humans. You're basically in their living room when you're in the ocean and I'm sure they have attacks humans but it's pretty rare. Plus the ocean is heating up at a rapid rate and fishing crabs are dying by the millions so they have to swim closer to shore to try to find food.

The oceanic whitetip sharks are famously aggressive towards humans, probably because their habitats are not normally rich in preys.

PSA don't want to get bit by a shark, do not wear jewelry in the water. Us fishermen and women use very sparkly things to catch them. When you have a gold or silver bracelet or anklet or belly button ring, you start to look like something to bite. Same goes for shiny watches.

You know, when my dad and I went fishing several years back in Bay Pines, I caught a baby hammerhead swimming around the harbor. So I don't see how seeing a shark in St. Petersburg is unusual.

Sometimes that shark he looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. And, you know, the thing about a shark… he’s got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll’s eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn’t seem to be living… until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then… ah, then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin’. The ocean turns red, and despite all the pounding’ and the hollering’, they all come in and they… rip you to pieces!

That's not Old H man so we are good. The H man is the only Hammerhead shark to worry about and even if he does show up The Harbor Master will swim up here and fight him anyway because that's just how nature works.

If people choose to swim in waters with known shark activity that’s the responsibility of the people.
