It's not unique... any good director can do that with a decent script. Old movies were based on mostly new stories.. some were hits some weren't. But they sold on the quality of the story not whether it was a new or old story.

@marhawkman303 yes but considering this is a new DCU I think she wants this to happen and don't forget she has had so many iterations in the comics throughout the years that her goals have changed time and time again. Also she believes she is the true heiress to the throne so she is a bit delulu
Haven't seen the show yet, but something that surprised me is that unlike the majority of DC animated projects is that Creature Commandos was dubbed in Mexico instead of Venezuela, very few projects since the '90s have been dubbed in México, the excpetions being things like Static Shock, Krypto: the Superdog, Green Lantern TAS, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, among others, though I don't know if it's because the live-action movies and series like Peacemaker are dubbed in Mexico. Interestingly, some of the main dub cast has worked in other DC properties: - Octavio Rojas (Rick Flag Sr.) voiced Bruce Wayne in Batman Forever, Jor-El in Man of Steel and Deathstroke in Justice League '17; - Adriana Casas (The Bride) voices Renee Montoya in Batman: Caped Crusader; - Gabriel Basurto (Dr. Phosphorus) voiced Dr. Sivana in Shazam!; - Jessica Ángeles (Nina Mazursky) has voiced Supergirl in some projects, the Enchantress in Suicide Squad '16 Also, Amanda Waller is voice by Laura Torres, who dubbed Viola Davis in the two Suicide Squad movies and Peacemaker, though she also dubbed Angela Bassett as the same character in Green Lantern '11 and also in Smallville and in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
I hope the series addresses how horrible her relationship with Dr Frankenstein ended up being too. Bc he essentially raised her ever since she was born. Taught her everything she knows, and essentially groomed her 💀. When I saw their love making scene I felt disgusted I’m gonna be honest with you.
Loved the show- such a fast paced fun slice of life, my only problem is the excessive *corn scenes* i hope they would just get removed going further into the show.
So that one scene, is is neceophilia? Cause she’s still living but she’s also dead. Both my homie and I yelled “Ayo!!!” Side note: Dr Phosphorus is goated
The first 2 episodes weren't bad. I had fun with them, but for the better part of the premiere, I had the feeling that the show had gotten too busy introudcing the characters and setting up its brand of humor and the story only started to fire on all cylinders in the last few minutes of episode 2.
DCU had a good start so far. In future, Black Lion, could you do your own universe resurrection of Sony's Spider-Man Universe, and your Infinity Saga idea after the epic Ultron Saga you came up, please?
The only complaint I have is with circe. First off, they keep getting her name wrong. More importantly than that is that circe is shown as a brawler instead of a trickster goddess she is. They show a glimpse of it with the finale of the fight but that should be the entirety of the fight.
@michelle1181 regardless, circe should be a trickster magician. You wouldn't expect Loki to get into a fist fight and circe is DC's equivalent to that. Even if she is buffer. Brawling should be a last resort.
@Timmmmm42y yeah but she didn't try to throw hands. She was fighting the Bride with magic from a mile away and Bride managed to jump her. Same with Weasal. And she is not the equivalent to Loki since he is a god and she is not (in this version) she is a Amazon and Amazon's are brawlers so she does not mind fighting a bit and you could see that she could do it
@michelle1181 if they wanted to portray circe as a brawler Amazon they wouldn't have done tube arms and turn to butterflies. It looks like they're trying to do 50/50 and I would much rather them stick to one side. And if your argument is that "this version" of circe is a brawler Amazon, that's just unloyal to the source material. If I make a harry potter spinoff and Harry is now boxing with Connor McGregor and throwing fists with people on the street I can't say "it's loyal because Harry punched Draco that one time"
@@Timmmmm42y I think that is just bothering to much with minor things. She is witch so she prefers magic and relys on it and she can fight because she is amazon. That's enough to me.
The show is really fun so far, I honestly didn’t think I’d like characters as much as I did. I like these goofballs, everyone is so different which is good they aren’t all the sarcastic one. Flag is a pretty cool dude, actually pretty cooler than his son.
personally, I don't think Wonder Woman is around yet... I mean, if she was, why isn't she the one taking care of Circe? My theory is she will be introduced later on as having to take back an Amazon rogue prisoner (this being Circe) as she has been causing too much trouble in Man's World, and giving away intel about Themyscira, leading to the first men setting foot there to verify the Island's existence (and one of these men would be Steve Trevor, a new iteration of the character who is A.R.G.U.S.) Oh and also, I gotta say I really hope to see Anneka Needham land the role (she appeared in Deadpool 3 as the TVA blue eyed lady who looks like Lynda Carter), she pretty much has the looks for her, and it would be an amazing opportunity to have a lesser known actress to kick-off
James Gunn is an amazing writer and director. But I want him to keep things under wraps instead of responding to every fan on Twitter. I wanna be surprised. All this stuff I already knew, but I didn’t understand that he needed to get the record straight when it comes to continuity. Also, I think that the princess is up to no good. I feel like she swapped bodies with the queen. It sounded like the queen was crying for help at the banquet.
I have a theory that princess might actually be Clayface. Idk, I thought this would explain why she was written to be this into Flag. Also, I think it would have been funny.
The whole thing and you get a downgrade from me for not knowing that the “Monster” is not Frankenstein. Never was in fact. The only Frankenstein is the Doctor that creates the monster and his bride. Just a side note: the Monster’s name in the novel is Adam. No surname given.
I think this can be explained by Adam just taking the Frankenstein name as his own to assume his creators role when it comes to bride or just because he got used to people calling him that.

9:04 They kinda hinted that Nina, while not that useful on land, is exceptional under water. I’m sure we’ll see that at some point.
10:48 Superman's first apperence in the DCU is him crucified. That just feels like a dig at Man of Steel with all the Superman Jesus imagery. Probably not intentionally but it's funny.
I hope they control down the Comedy a little bit. We don't want all the projects to be like Peacemaker and GOTG. We need serious elements and action too. So i hope they try to balance everything not just push one narrative all the time with every project. Have comedy but when it's needed.
I think they use comedy when it can be used. There isn't much comedy in Weasel flashbacks because it obviously wouldn't fit there.
James Gunn has a unique ability to make you care about characters most people have never heard of
It's not unique... any good director can do that with a decent script. Old movies were based on mostly new stories.. some were hits some weren't. But they sold on the quality of the story not whether it was a new or old story.
@ yeah but James Gunn is finding a way to make you care about characters like Polkadotman
@@JasonVoorheesUnstoppable you mean like how whoever wrote the early MCU scripts got audiences to care about Hawkeye?
@ people cared about Hawkeye before hand as he was a decently popular comic book character more so than green arrow from what I remember, ain’t nobody ever heard of the polkadot man or Rat Catcher
@@JasonVoorheesUnstoppable hahahaa, Hawkeye was c-list at best in Marvel. You almost never saw him outside Avengers teams.
Sure, that's a higher tier than Polkadot man and Rat Catcher. But he wasn't exactly a character people who didn't read Avengers knew.
Circe's weakness is Batman's singing ❤
Already off to a great start!
G.I Robot has now become my favorite Suicide Squad-mate 🤣🤣🤣
3 vids in three days black lion subs are eating good!
I think the vision that circe shows the commandos is what she wants the future to be not what the actual future holds.
Actually... given who Circe is and what she does int he comics... I think it's a future Circe wants to AVOID. Ancient powerful sorceress or not... she's not a take over the world kind of villain. she'd rather just... not fight the JL than kill them all.
@marhawkman303 yes but considering this is a new DCU I think she wants this to happen and don't forget she has had so many iterations in the comics throughout the years that her goals have changed time and time again. Also she believes she is the true heiress to the throne so she is a bit delulu
@@hannahmabbott7370 true heir to which throne? I mean... the classic depiction of Circe IS royalty.
I'm hooked up these first two episodes, wished all episodes were released at once.
Interestingly, some of the main dub cast has worked in other DC properties:
- Octavio Rojas (Rick Flag Sr.) voiced Bruce Wayne in Batman Forever, Jor-El in Man of Steel and Deathstroke in Justice League '17;
- Adriana Casas (The Bride) voices Renee Montoya in Batman: Caped Crusader;
- Gabriel Basurto (Dr. Phosphorus) voiced Dr. Sivana in Shazam!;
- Jessica Ángeles (Nina Mazursky) has voiced Supergirl in some projects, the Enchantress in Suicide Squad '16
Also, Amanda Waller is voice by Laura Torres, who dubbed Viola Davis in the two Suicide Squad movies and Peacemaker, though she also dubbed Angela Bassett as the same character in Green Lantern '11 and also in Smallville and in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
Zac effron booster gold would be great
the intro gave me Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. vibes
i loved the needle drop in the first fight
Say his name I believe in James Gunn
Like London and Paris and Tokyo
Gtf outta here with that bullshit
Whomp whomp 💀@@allyoucansee590
Wave your hands and say, I believe in James Gunns DCU, new DCU!!!
I'm loving the show, and Gunn makes good stuff, but how bout we don't replace one cult with another?
Victor f'ing a dead ugly corpse betraying Frankenstein who wanted her so bad was wild and sad ☹️
Ugly? Idk about that lol the only thing wild about it was that he already had a wife apparently. The bride wasn’t into Eric anyway.
Yeah, Victor had a wife, committed necrophilia, and betrayed his son, whom he created Bride for. Wouldn’t be surprised if that was his plan all along
He also raised her from the day she was born. Aka grooming.@@jacobchildress7921
@@redeyepeyton Mostly because she never got a chance to know him Eric is clearly an emotional guy but is a child when it comes to love.
And sick😂😂😂😂😂
It’s a little crazy to me the VERY FIRST time we see James Gunn interpretation of Superman is an animated shot of him dead💀
I need that Perfect DC Universe part 2
I was t sure about this show , but so far the first few episodes have been promising so far
2:13 That looks like the Amazons of Bana-Mighdall
But I've been looking everywhere for this series dawg it's like it's hiding from me but I finally found it and I'm going to go watch it now
I cant wait to see Rick Flag Sr's hair floof in live action
I hope the series addresses how horrible her relationship with Dr Frankenstein ended up being too. Bc he essentially raised her ever since she was born. Taught her everything she knows, and essentially groomed her 💀. When I saw their love making scene I felt disgusted I’m gonna be honest with you.
I have big hopes for that universe, I know that not every movie is gonna be good. But this can get far better than the mcu
I love how the music reflects the era that the Povolkians appear to be stuck in culturally.
The Bride and Frankenstein are fantastic.
Loved the show- such a fast paced fun slice of life, my only problem is the excessive *corn scenes* i hope they would just get removed going further into the show.
This man is on a streak
Can’t wait for more from the Detective Cinema Universe
So that one scene, is is neceophilia? Cause she’s still living but she’s also dead. Both my homie and I yelled “Ayo!!!”
Side note: Dr Phosphorus is goated
The first 2 episodes weren't bad. I had fun with them, but for the better part of the premiere, I had the feeling that the show had gotten too busy introudcing the characters and setting up its brand of humor and the story only started to fire on all cylinders in the last few minutes of episode 2.
The animation style reminds me of the old Boondocks series.
She is not a goddess here. In this version she is an Amazon.
As someone whose country is not available Max, I would really like to see this series.
Pirate it
We’re getting Teen Titans movie then ain’t no way Starfire is on here for no reason
Out of the not yet announced stuff the ones I’m hoping for the most are:
- A Teen Titans movie
- A Green Arrow & Black Canary movie
The show is really fun so far, I honestly didn’t think I’d like characters as much as I did. I like these goofballs, everyone is so different which is good they aren’t all the sarcastic one. Flag is a pretty cool dude, actually pretty cooler than his son.
DC IS BACK🎉
personally, I don't think Wonder Woman is around yet... I mean, if she was, why isn't she the one taking care of Circe?
My theory is she will be introduced later on as having to take back an Amazon rogue prisoner (this being Circe) as she has been causing too much trouble in Man's World, and giving away intel about Themyscira, leading to the first men setting foot there to verify the Island's existence (and one of these men would be Steve Trevor, a new iteration of the character who is A.R.G.U.S.)
Oh and also, I gotta say I really hope to see Anneka Needham land the role (she appeared in Deadpool 3 as the TVA blue eyed lady who looks like Lynda Carter), she pretty much has the looks for her, and it would be an amazing opportunity to have a lesser known actress to kick-off
The silhouette behind starfish in the vision looks almost like it has wings? Could possibly be a hawk?
I know they said the multiverse is over but this feel like part of the Harley Quinn and Kite Man verse
The intro sort of reminds me of Mystery Incorporated’s intro
I hate suicide squad already.
We got one animated movie, one anime, one animated show, two films (three if you count Ayercut) one game
3:31 Scream is canon in DCU?!?
Yup
Didn’t Iliana say she wanted to make her country better? How is she one note😭
Anybody knows?? What's the name of background music is being played in this video ?
James Gunn is a mastermind
James Gunn is an amazing writer and director. But I want him to keep things under wraps instead of responding to every fan on Twitter. I wanna be surprised. All this stuff I already knew, but I didn’t understand that he needed to get the record straight when it comes to continuity. Also, I think that the princess is up to no good. I feel like she swapped bodies with the queen. It sounded like the queen was crying for help at the banquet.
I have a theory that princess might actually be Clayface. Idk, I thought this would explain why she was written to be this into Flag. Also, I think it would have been funny.
Bride?
@@crazybobert5243 shit, OK fixed that XD
If Zach efron is booster it gotta be a musical
Zack as Booster is perfect if so.
In JG we trust
I kept assuming something is wrong with the princess. She might be a twisted villainess.
It’s the Velma art style …and it goes really well with the tone and characters especially the bride
