Hi! I’m Valeria, and I’m a Ukrainian expat and digital nomad, currently living in Italy. I first came here without speaking the language and being totally unprepared, but pretty sure this is gonna be an adventure of a lifetime! I love discovering Italian culture, Italian people and, of course, Italian food. Indeed very beautiful, i actually have a house right there that we use for summer holidays.
Not great for cars, walking is obviously the best option, and there's a bus for the near Lerici if needed. It's mostly either up or down to walk around, and no sand beaches, all rocks. There is one sandy beach near it though, in a place called Fiascherino, about 20 minutes just walking.
I used to live in the pink house with the green shutters back in the mid 60s. Across from the old church down by the sea. The story of the octopus we heard at the time was that the pastor of the village used to ring that bell in the old church down by the sea, when pirates were coming, leaving the rope outside of the walls of the church. One day when the pastor was sick, and the Pirates were coming, an octopus crawled out of the sea, grabbed a hold of that rope, and rang the bell, so that the people of the village could do their usual thing… Which was to gather up their belongings into a family chest and retreat to a ghost village up the hill until the Pirates have gone.
