There would be no balance. She constantly needed someone to bring her back from her agressive tendencies. Sauron would only amplify them, even if he himself would have wanted for her to retain her light, he wouldn't be able to help maintain it.
I know it's a travesty what the show runners did here by suggesting that these two had a romantic connection at one point of their lives, but you know what? I'm digging it. Hahahaha. Who wants to see Celeborn now? Not me. 😂

That’s perfect! I get a lot of klaus and Caroline vibes from them too. Rey and Ben and their dyad. Rhaenyra and Daemon. Those are three of my favorite ships and now I have this one too. Sauron being capable of anything outside of manipulation and the desire for control and domination is not something that is in the books at all. They literally say that he cannot understand Gandalf or his motives at all. True care for others and no desire to take the ring even if it would give him the power to defeat him. Seeing him this way instead is something I am very much here for. I love a dark powerful badass villain who becomes soft for one girl and hates it but loves her anyway.

I think the show is uneven and there are dumb moments like when she suddenly mentions Celeborn. But overall the relationships between Calibrimbor and Sauron and Sauron and Galadriel and Galadriel and Elrond and Elrond and Durin are some of the best relationships on television.

No. As much as I would love that and my head canon believes there is a universe where she makes a different choice and says yes, here she cannot. In the books and movies she was powerful as hell. Here it doesn’t even seem like she has magic. Meaning their relationship is super imbalanced. In the books it says during this time he wanted to change. He wanted redemption. To get it he decided to save middle earth but he doesn’t know how without being a dictator. This version of Galadriel wouldn’t be able to stop him doing terrible things unless he was willing to humor her. In the end though she would end up becoming an elf witch for him. He would dominate her totally and be less of a Queen more of a general.

And he is still recovering. Or else running away from the orcs would make no sense - he'd just kill everyone who opposed him. Sauron, at least here, was in a rare moment of vulnerability, where, powerless and weakened, he met a kindred spirit (regardless of if you regard their relationship as platonic or romantic), and the overall situation as well as Galadriel made him start to rethink his beliefs. His failures together with his guilt made him give up, but Galadriel gave him hope that he could be something more and do something good. And that was always his dream and his ambition. It's not before they came to Eregion and he heard about the mirthril and the Elves' plight that it all came to him how he could restart his previous plans that he had abandoned because of continuous failures (and Adar physically banishing him from existence). Sauron stood on a crossroad and he had a real chance here - where he was wrong-footed and doubted all his previous beliefs - he had a chance to choose the right path. Who knows? - had they had more time, had Adar didnt blow up the mountain, forcing the events into motion that ended up with Sauron learning about mithril and Elves plight and (too early) having to face the temptation of quick and easy "fix", maybe Sauron could have found the right footing. Instead, before he could unlearn his worse life lessons and learn new better ones, he, sort of, came to the Tree of Knowledge in Eden.

I have watched the trilogy, and I love the direction TROP has taken with the characters. Not even Peter Jackson stayed precise or true to the books; he too implemented his own ideas and interpretations. It’s an adaptation, not a copy. Lastly, the two main characters, Galadriel and Sauron, have amazing chemistry. I haven’t seen a couple on TV that good in a while.

Not even Peter Jackson stayed precise or true to the books; he too implemented his own ideas and interpretations. It’s an adaptation, not a copy. Lastly, the two main characters, Galadriel and Sauron, have amazing chemistry. I haven’t seen a couple on TV that good in a while.
@@justagirl2743 the chemistry between them is there but its kinda weirdly there imo. And the timeline is off, all of this shouldn’t be happening at once. To spend a billion to adapt this you would think they could get better writers or more writers on the team to at least have a better plot. To each their own i guess 🤷♀️
