Yes, I've been a minimalist for about 4 years now. One day it just hit me, and I didn't want anything that wasn't necessary in my life. I feel so empowered to have a few meaningful things than to be surrounded by a bunch of meaningless materialism. I truly appreciate everything that you have shared in your videos. I love love love all your tips & advices. Thank you! :D
I loooved your video!! :) I'm from Costa Rica and now I'm living in Brazil... four months ago, in preparation of the moving i got rid of most of my clothes (in front of the terrified eyes of my mom and friends)... and I realized how little you actually need to be confortable. I own more than 33 pieces for sure, but I'm on my way! I think is, like you said, a mindset.. a way of living. We don't need stuff, we need experiences!
+Karla Córdoba I'm so happy you did that despite your terrified friends.. ha ha:) Exactly.. we don't need much and the number isn't the defining factor... we just need to learn to be more mindful when we do shop, and we can make it far:) Keep it up Karla:) Maria
This has to be the best RUclips video on Minimalist wardrobe that I've seen so far. This video is unique because it's the only one I've seen where the vlogger tries on everything in their 333 wardrobe to show how everything works together. The skirt as a top is a great idea. I've never thought of that. You truly have a minimalist closet. Question: how many handbags/purses do you own?
4mydearlady Thank you for that comment!:) I felt a bid funny doing it but also thought it would help others get ideas, so glad you liked it. It's been a while since I've gone through my shoes and bags so not completely sure but something like: 2 clutches for parties, 2 small everyday leather bags (one I mostly use when I travel), 1 bigger bag that can hold everything, scarfs, a shirt ect. And then 1 carry-on suitcase and a small backpack.
WOW....I'm inspired....I've been getting rid of clothes and shoes....getting down tobasic's........this after a lifetime of having....various jobs which meant ...different sets ofclothes....You have given me ...not only idea's but :) inspiration as well !! Continued success....and lots of 'enjoyable' traveling........................ : )
Arcane Windrunner so glad to hear it, having a less extensive wardrobe really does free up energy in my experience. For sure, the number in itself is not important, but you knowing why you are doing it and keeping that in mind.. that is when it can become really powerful, what startet as a wardrope challenge can rub of on so many other areas of your life:) Best of luck with it:) Hugs
Congratulations, I'm from Spain and I had never heard about that 333 movement. Some days ago I watched a documentary called "Minimalism, a documentary about the important things" and I found it awesome. Last year I was travelling for 11 months and then I realised that I had too many things in my backpack. At these moment I understood that I only needed a few things to wear properly. So, last Christmas I made the decision to wear only black and white clothes (I like black) and reduce my wardrobe at the minimum that I used. Thank you for your video!!!
Wow, thanks to your video I can see how it's possible to live with 33 items of clothing now! I love the KonMari method and have been recording videos of how I am using it to embrace minimalism.
Alexa Weber Morales Thanks:) Yah minimalism and living with a limited wardrobe really is possible when you find a method that works for you.. what ever gets you motivated and can offer some guidance in the beginning stages is very helpful:) Good luck
Very helpful! I have few clothes, but this makes me see that I need to go through and purge a lot and restock. I'm obsessed with frugality in some ways, and it's hard for me to get rid of things that fit or aren't worn out because it feels wasteful. But I do have that feeling that many of the things I own aren't "me," and I find myself returning to the same few pieces over and over again. One example is color - I have a red top because I felt I had to have a bright piece; but I'm blonde and my skin tends toward pinkish ... even though my husband and kids say the top looks good, I don't FEEL like it does, and I guess that's what I need to tune in to. Your attitude is very liberating!
+jorasparents Thanks:) Yep bright colors still have to be the right one to actually wear it. If I want a good experience with having a limited wardrobe then I really need to like everything:) Good luck on the purging and buying of the new items;)
I have been looking for this video so hard! I thought that you had deleted our channel, but you're here! :D this is the second minimalistic video I had watched in 2015. I have been a minimalist up to now. I am so grateful I went down in this path.
Brilliant video, packed full of info and plenty of actually showing us your clothes. I also loved the way you put the clothes on in different outfits. Many thanks xx
Mary Freeman Thank you so much:) I'm glad you liked it, I have a few more videos on this topic planed... so if there is anything you would like me to touch on, please let me know:)
Loved this video. Have been culling and refining my capsule wardrobe for about 4 years now. I am so much happier and calmer with less items. I recently decluttered my make up as well. It is a definte process. xoxo
+farmgirl030 with downsizing the project almost never stops, because you have to maintain the lifestyle, but I love it, it reminds me of what's important to me in my life so I don't mind:) I've been lucky that I havn't had to do much with my wardrobe for almost a year but now I need to make some changes:)
+One Girl One Suitcase so true. I'm the same, I think it has given me a much better understanding of what I like, what suits me and ensuring I use what I have instead of going out and buying a new dress for a special occasssion.
you and a few similar youtubers just inspired me to get rid of 2 big bags of cloths. stuff i havent used or missed in years. it was just taking space in the wardrobe :)
Cannonbo Ohh I'm SO happy to hear that, congratulations!!:) Feel lighter already right? I always get such a sense of peace and order when I remove what is cluttering up my space.. it's like it's cluttering up my mind as well and nice to get rid of:) Keep up the good work:)
i was surprised how easy it was with cloths. for me it's harder with books and CDs. they seem to hold value even if i haven't used them in the past 4 years.
Cannonbo I had a hard time with my dvd's.. after 3 years I just did it.. gave them away and bought them on itunes instead. It was like ripping of a bandaid:) Now I dont miss them anymore.. time heals right;)
This was great. Although I probably will never get to this point, I have taken a different approach to my wardrobe and I only buy things that I love and need instead of buying something that's cute and on sale, when I really know it's not my style. I'm slowly purging those things from my closet.
MsSassyMT that is a very good place to start. It makes you so much more conscious of what you bring in to your closet, avoiding spontaneous purchases also helps incredible.. if you make it a point to always wait a week before you buy something you can save a lot of money, unless of course you know what you are looking for:)
I've trimmed down my wardrobe rather dramatically because I felt overwhelmed by clutter. I'm happier with less. Strange but true. When I finally stopped paring down, my husband asked if I was leaving him because I had so few items in our closet. Now we have his and her closets and mine isn't even 1/4 full. My husbands closet is brimming with clothes and I actually gave him the larger closet when we bought our new house. Lol! I can't convince him less is way more.
***** ha ha that is hilarious.. my husband also has more clothes than me and he likes shopping for bargains way more than I do, so naturally his half of the closet fills up faster and he has 2 drawers where I only have one. I love my wardrobe like this and don't think I will ever go back to having a larger wardrobe, as long as I make sure I have things I like, it's no problem. Like you said I'm happier with less too:)
Another fabulous video...thanks for sharing! I really appreciate that you took the inspiration of Project 333 and you make your own rules. You own it, and I'm sure that's a key to success. Bravo!
Alison Lush Thank you so much:).. I really believe that a frame can be helpful to start out, but then you have to like everything else make it work for your life. We are all so different as individuals, so to expect that the same rules would aply to us all.. we would just set our selves up for greater risk of failure. So glad you liked it:)
One Girl One Suitcase You are so right. We are all different, and the best systems and solutions take our values, lifestyles and goals into account. Thanks for the inspiration. A+
That's pretty interesting. I have paired down my closet ( with the help of Marie Kondo.) I like having less but I don't think I could go down to 33 items. Kudos to you that you can do it though. I really liked the outfits you put together to show the variety you can still have with so few clothes. Thanks so much for sharing.
+Trudy Pope Thanks:) The number really isn't that important either. I happen to have a very small closet so can't fit a lot more than 30-40 items. The most important is to be mindful of what you have and how much you buy and what you buy:) Merry christmas
Thank you for sharing this! I love this idea and I plan on trying it out. I have so many things that I rarely ever wear! When I travel to places I love to bring back home snacks but they don't always fit. I think incorporating this idea will help a lot!!
It's so liberating getting the things you never use out of the closet, so just doing that you are already getting a good start:) Packing is so much easier for me now, warm or cold climate.. and then I hardly have to think about the rest:) Let me know how your process goes:)
One of my college friends and his wife came to our house recently. We have 3 small closets and 1 we share with our baby. She was shocked at how little clothing/shoes/backpacks we own. Much less than her. I felt really happy and confident that we don't over do it!
Ah that's amazing, I love when you get to encourage others to consider living with less. I feel we gain so much from it in other areas of out life:) Check out our lifestyle channel if you are into downsizing in general;)
i really like the way you live this project!!i personally feel i would use more than one pair of shoe through a whole season, (like in the winter two pair of boots) anyway that just my opinion!!
WaterlilyHeart Thanks.. I'm a strong believer in making mindful choices:) The 3 pairs of shoes are the once I use 80% of the time.. I do have more so I can mix it up, but I rarely use them. I should actually go through my shoes again soon.. I think it has been the area I've been most lazy with:) Thanks for stopping by:)
Wow! Impressive! I am inspired and tomorrow I plan to have a big cull of my wardrobe. Men are not so good at this sort of thing, but I would love to know what essentials your partner has in his wardrobe. Another video perhaps? Thanks for the advice!
Ok so I am not a minimalist BUT I do try to be smart with what I have. And instead of buying my daughter a new school bag this year I am using my college backpack, it is roomy for her and stores her clothes and lunch so well! AND even has a side pocket for her water!
Do you own about 30 items (or a little over) total - for fall, winter, spring, summer? I like that!! I may be an extremist, but I think 33 items every three months can still be too many clothes (Project 333), depending on your circumstances.
4mydearlady Jep 33 different items for every season would still add up to a lot and not very downsized at all, I agree:) I think it's primarily to get into the mindset of going through your clothes periodically and evaluate what you have actually worn:) And primarily for people in colder climates maybe. I'm in Denmark and sometimes I need my winter sweater during a cold summer night so it's always there...actually that sweater isn't in the video for some reason hmm:)
33 items in 3 months.... in wales, we can have three seasons in one day! i have lots of clothes because laundrette was the same in cost as food for a week, so i had lots of cheap secondhand clothes so i didn't have to go more than one month, you can fit a month's worth of clothes in one laundrette washing machine
+Josephine Winter We have laundry included in our rent, so don't have that problem. But 33 items or close could probably work in wales too when it works for me in Denmark, the weather is pretty similar:)
Do you have any suggestions for someone whose weight fluctuates? After the birth of my son, I've had trouble with bloating and my weight going up and down. I find that I fluctuate by about 10 pounds (3kg) every 2-3 months.
My weight have always been pretty stable and when I gain weight it's very gradual. But I am pregnant now and are thinking to do a video on this topic. I would say probably to go for items in jersey, just because it has a bit more give and will follow your body more up and down. I have always had problems with bloating and find that low cut pants and skirts work the best since they cut below the stomach:) I think that's all but I'll se if I can think of more for the video:)
Hello, nice job! Your downsize lifestyle actually inspired me to at least think of doing something with my wardrobe :-) ....I have Q - how is it with washing such a small amount of clothes? As I have 2 little kids and have no dryer machine :-o If I wash my only pair of jeans I have to stay at home for 2 days to wait when its dry :-D I usually wash family clothes 7-9 times a week :-o Thank you.
Hi Anna, It's great that you're considering it:) If I had no dryer I would probably need a bit more clothes, but most of my shirt's can't go in the dryer now as it is, so probably only 10% more. I wear my skirt when I wash my pants.. it's doable you just have to use all of the clothes in your wardrobe. And keep in mind you don't have to get down to where I'm at, your life looks different, just start by getting everything you never use, everything that you can't fit out of there and then see how much is left.. start from there:) Best of luck:)
I don't consider work uniform colors to be part of my wardrobe, so all together I have excluding scarves, hats, is 46 pieces of clothing. I've done with a lot of clothes already, I used to own like 150, maybe more.
There are a few factors in how to tidy up . One resource I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Nilah declutter tips (check it out on google) definately the most helpful plan that I've heard of.look at the super information .
+sandie lindemeyer I bring between 5-7 pieces and wash every 4-6 days. I make sure to bring the ones I have in very thin material so they dry super fast.. and it literally takes no time, so I hardly think about it:)
Harriet Lucy Hi, thanks for stopping by:) Which dress? The "travel dress" I made myself, the "dress-up dress" and the black one are from a local store, not a known brand.. sorry. And the last blue dress is from a vintage store here in Aarhus.. sorry I couldn't be of more help, but thank you for the compliment:)
One Girl One Suitcase I meant the travel dress. I'm so impressed you made it! WOW. I'm struggling to get my dresses down in numbers. Something like that would suit my needs so well. I love your videos, so inspiring - thank you
I don't understand why I'm supposed to get rid of clothes to convert them to others after three months, if I don't exceed the number of items allowed for that period? Answer please!
Ah, so if it doesn't include work clothes, then that sounds more do-able, because most of my stuff is work wear. On the weekends, I only seem to wear the same pair of black skinny jeans. :-)
Clothes you wear for work is included.. sorry.. only excluding if there is a uniform you have to wear:) Hope you can still do it:) Have you started a downsizing process?
+Biancka Azul I have tried some "multipurpose" items, but I just don't like wearing something that has knots and stuff, but if people like the style it's a super option. There's a cool company who has some nice styles called EMAMI, check it out if you would like a really diverse piece:) www.emami.dk/
+Amanda Herring It takes some getting use to for sure, which is why it's a good idea to scale it down over a period of time, take it in chunks so it can actually last:)
+One Girl One Suitcase (Maria Storgaard) awesome, i been hearing about people traveling to Thailand and having a great experience, i may have to check it out some time. i live in the northeast of the U.S. where we have hot humid summers and freezing cold winters, its ridiculous haha id love to live in a warmer climate but i might also miss the seasons. is it relatively safe to travel in thailand?
Oh yah, they are so used to travellers and backpackers in Thailand, you won't have a problem. It's safe, just take you normal precautions like you do anywhere(like don'r walk down a dark alley in a shady neighborhood on your own) and you'll be fine:)
When he leaves his closet open and I see what a disaster it is I just have to walk over and shut the door. 😑 he likes his mess and clutter. He tells me to stay out of his closet because he knows where everything is. Sure you do. .......😒.

This was a really good video and I love how you explained that it's more of a mindset! I'm on my first month of the project 33 and I'm enjoying it!
Arcane Windrunner so glad to hear it, having a less extensive wardrobe really does free up energy in my experience. I started Project 333 in January and I am loving it and will never go back! Thanks for sharing - great video!
8Lovelee Thank you so much:) It is so nice knowing that there are other people out there who love living with a limited wardrobe too:) Keep it up:)
We are also on this journey and love your videos! Thank you!
+Mina Irfan Glad you like it, and good luck with the downsizing.. it can be tough to get down in numbers, but it makes so much sense once it's done:)
Love love love this video. You make a lot of sense. You are very inspiring.
+gem hay Thank you so much.. I do my best to really break it down, so I'm happy you like it:) Have you cone though that process or want to? Maria

Yes, plus the most important 2 reasons: save space and money!! Id rather have only 10 shoes and let Natalie have more clothes to be honest.
I have some colorful clothes that I don't find it really myself wearing those. I prefer natural colors, black and white. Thanks for sharing tips :)
you are right- exact number doesnt matter So keep your vintage dress xx
Ha ha thanks;)

I love your style! Great video, very interesting and helpful.
Joyce Thank you, glad you found it helpful:)
Cant wait to try this out!!! :)
I've always had too many clothes. I'd be happy to get it down to 100 items to start with haha
What ever goal works for you.. the goal is just to push your self a bit to make some decisions:)
Very wonderful and informative video! Thanks for sharing!!

Nice job. I limit my total as well. Free your mind and let go!
exactly:)
That was really inspiring (says the one who has 2 wardrobes)... I do fill like it's too much to handle with mentally.
Thanks Lydia, I hope you try some of it if you feel you want to declutter a bit.. it really is mentally freeing;)
THANK YOU. i have so much to learn.
I love the green top! What brand is it? 🙂
It's from Cos, thanks:)
excellent video on P333! thanks
Thanks a lot, Glad you like it:)
Love your grey sweater ! xoxo awesome video
+Linda Deschenes Thanks me too... found it on sale at the airport in Reykjavik Iceland, so it also kind of functions kid a like a souvenir:)
But 33 items or close could probably work in wales too when it works for me in Denmark, the weather is pretty similar:)
could you make laundry by hands?
I do sometimes when we travel, but not at home:)
Love your videos! Awesome capsule!
***** Thank you for watching:)
Interesting video, thanks for sharing!
I have always had problems with bloating and find that low cut pants and skirts work the best since they cut below the stomach:) I think that's all but I'll se if I can think of more for the video:)
very inspiring I have wanted to do this forever Everytime I start, I give up,
you can do it!
Love this idea!
Great!:) Have you downsized your closet?
And keep in mind you don't have to get down to where I'm at, your life looks different, just start by getting everything you never use, everything that you can't fit out of there and then see how much is left.. start from there:) Best of luck:)
wow great video thanks!
I don't consider work uniform colors to be part of my wardrobe, so all together I have excluding scarves, hats, is 46 pieces of clothing. I've done with a lot of clothes already, I used to own like 150, maybe more.
+Astarova Jasmine Good job on getting rit of that much, that's super:)
There are a few factors in how to tidy up . One resource I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Nilah declutter tips (check it out on google) definately the most helpful plan that I've heard of.look at the super information .
What about underwear? How many pieces do you keep and how often do you have to wash clothes?
+sandie lindemeyer I bring between 5-7 pieces and wash every 4-6 days. I make sure to bring the ones I have in very thin material so they dry super fast.. and it literally takes no time, so I hardly think about it:)
Very inspiring!!
Great video!
Reem Alsmaiel Thanks:)
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
+Karen Fields Thanks for watching Karen:)
Where is the dress from? I love it
Harriet Lucy Hi, thanks for stopping by:) Which dress? The "travel dress" I made myself, the "dress-up dress" and the black one are from a local store, not a known brand.. sorry. And the last blue dress is from a vintage store here in Aarhus.. sorry I couldn't be of more help, but thank you for the compliment:)
One Girl One Suitcase I meant the travel dress. I'm so impressed you made it! WOW. I'm struggling to get my dresses down in numbers. Something like that would suit my needs so well. I love your videos, so inspiring - thank you
Ahh, well thank you:) I really hope you find something that is similar then:) Positive comments are so uplifting thanks:)
I don't understand why I'm supposed to get rid of clothes to convert them to others after three months, if I don't exceed the number of items allowed for that period? Answer please!
I love your place :) nice video.
love it!
I am working on living on less clothes . it takes take
I m inspired :)
nistha nakarmi I'm glad to hear that. Hope you try it out:)
amazing and beautiful:)
easy if you live in warm climate
Ah, so if it doesn't include work clothes, then that sounds more do-able, because most of my stuff is work wear. On the weekends, I only seem to wear the same pair of black skinny jeans. :-)
Clothes you wear for work is included.. sorry.. only excluding if there is a uniform you have to wear:) Hope you can still do it:) Have you started a downsizing process?
Hi. Yes have begun donating loads to charity. Well.... a suit is kind of my uniform for work. I would never even think of wearing it anywhere else ;-)
Jep then you're covered.. and you can really do quite a lot with 33 items:)
I live in a place with very drastic seasonal weather shifts. I doubt 33 items of clothing would be practical for all weather.
our so beautiful
Amanda Irvine Thank you Amanda.. I little compliments never made a day worse:)
You should try the "Magic Scarf" ruclips.net/video/0l9BCJI7b0w/видео.html and a "Sarong" ruclips.net/video/DaybmI2neXc/видео.html
+Biancka Azul I have tried some "multipurpose" items, but I just don't like wearing something that has knots and stuff, but if people like the style it's a super option. There's a cool company who has some nice styles called EMAMI, check it out if you would like a really diverse piece:) www.emami.dk/
One Girl One Suitcase THANKS! :)
Hi, how tall are you? New sub here.
the at least would drive me nuts . till I got use to it
+Amanda Herring It takes some getting use to for sure, which is why it's a good idea to scale it down over a period of time, take it in chunks so it can actually last:)
do aLL minimalists visit Thailand? lol
+WeAreBullets ha ha, maybe:) It's just so cheap and easy to get to...and warm during the Danish winter:)
Sure you do. .......😒.
***** ha ha jep.. sure honey:) Mortens drawers are always a mess too.. keep them closed please:)
