Looks like you have a lot of experience with these incubators so which one would you recommend to buy?? I'm looking for a cabinet incubator just like these thank you and good videos
Loving ur videos. What he’d 3 or 4 now. I bought a new GQF 1202E and while I am waiting for it found an old pre-2007 1202A cabinet GQF I think it is. It is missing the wafer. Helps temp as it has a dial and the wafer is the back up it seems. Am I safe to run it without the back up? Thinking of just trying a dozen eggs to start and be sure it works well as is.
It will work without the back-up wafer installed, but if the electronic thermostat goes bad and doesn’t regulate temp correctly, there is nothing to keep the temp from going too high. The wafer back-up is a sort of safety device. All that being said, there are a lot of incubators that don’t have a back up system.
Right on thanks. I ordered a wafer and the whole thermostat to wire in. I just replaced the wafer for now and kept the rest as a back up as it works. Set it to 102°F and the eggs when candled at day 7 are all growing well other than a few that were not fertilized. Now I want to get another used one and fix up. Or thinking about adding an egg turner to the old one I got. Seems as though they sell all the parts for it from a local company. Will be $300-$600 looks like tho may be not worth it. Just use it as a hatcher and have 2 incubators with turners in the end.
a friend of mine built a cabinet incubator from foam board. he used an ink bird for the thermostat it works well I have an old gif cabinet not sure of the series not electronic thermostat was wondering could the ink bird be put in my gqf? I just subscribed to your channel I want to see what you do on incubators. Blessing's Herby
Inkbird makes electronic and even wifi thermostats of all kinds I got a wifi enabled 120v plug in style that can turn on heating or cooling and use it to control an outdoor brooder box in -20°C maintaining a temp of 35°c (95°f) with a heat lamp and the wifi inkbird. I love it!
@@munirahmed9218 Eggs don't require a tremendous amount of ventilation. An easy way to ventilate a cabinet is to drill holes about 1" diamter in the rear of the incubator. 1 or 2 holes at the top and another 1 or 2 at the bottom of the back panel. You can regulate the amount of air by putting tape across the holes. To regulate the humidity, open or close the holes until your humidity readings are in the normal range. Be sure that your heater can keep the temperature in the normal range with the ventilation holes being open. It's a bit of a balancing act.
I have the exact incubator but I'm having a problem the command center screen goes blank when it reaches the command temp and yellow light just keeps blinking
Hey I need some help. I just got a used one idk who its made by but i believe it's a ssportsman and it just will not heat I am lost I bypassed the light indicator for the heat bc it was not let power go through it but still will not work
josh courville what type of thermostat(s) does it have, wafer or electronic? Are they functioning properly? Micro switches on wafer style can go bad. Electronic thermostats won’t work on all models.
@@justtinkering6054 it has both in it and I tested the wafer and it's working fine. I ordered a new light bc it was not giving me nothing hoping that's all it is.
Great 👍🏼 info thanks 🙏🏼. Make more videos on incubator, I work on them too. It’s a fun project.
I appreciate your frankness in your remarks!! Thanks!!

Good video, would like to see one on how to set up the bucket system if you happen to have a video that shows that.

Herbert Johnson sorry but I don’t know what ink bird means. Is it another manufacturer?

Plz guide me about vent holes. Like how many holes and there size and how to make use of them?

I’ve never had that problem. GQF custom service might be able to help you on that one. I am really not a fan of the command center.
What about the comb type sponge in the water pan? Do I need One from GQF or can I make a homemade one?
I use sponges from the grocery store.
What is the height of your incubator?
I can not find the egg holders u r talking about
