If you read up on the real life story this film was based on, it's pretty harrowing. Look up Alan Berg. This is a truly underrated Stone film. I won't account for what he's done recently, but 80's Oliver Stone was amazing stuff.

Always thought Bogosian was related to Anthony Bourdain. They sound so similar

This clip reminds of Joe Piscopo's sportscaster from "Weekend Update', in the early 80s. The voices are that similar. I dont know what Anthony Bourdain sounds like, but it doesnt seem likely they are related. 'Bourdain' is clearly a French name, while 'Bogosian' is more Slavic-sounding. Still, stranger things have happened.

If you’ve never seen this movie, YOU MUST SEE IT. It really is good, strong performances by Eric Bogosian and Alec Baldwin.
The book on which the movie is based, “Talked to Death” is based on a true story...of a liberal talk show host who was murdered by Neo-nazis in Denver, Colorado.

Yeah man radio stations call in talk shows I had a love affair with Colin talk shows back in them days but now thanks to live internet streaming with no censorship or podcast you can now be your own radio talk show host and bypass the FCC b******* however back in the day now some people couldn't afford all that s*** so what they did do was produce their own well CD tape cassette podcast and they will pass them out at the back of their cars and they still manage to get that message out it cost them something out of their pockets but they didn't mind man they had to get the message out even if the radio shows wouldn't let him on but the internet has changed all of that thank goodness.

Bogosian was so damn good as a great talk show host, at the time i thought he was some kind of local politically active famous radio personality, I had never heard of, but was trying his hand at acting, playing a version of himself.

It's not even reality in Dallas or Dallas County. I loved this movie since it came out, but I was always a little pissed off that caller "Chet" was from Mesquite, like the city was chock full of neo-nazis or something.

@@jrussellcase Mesquite and a lot of the folks in the eastern quadrant of Dallas were always a lot of lower class of white people back then. Not sure about today. Just like Hurst, Euless, and Beford have always been middle and upper middle class white folks in Fort Worth, but most to this day still talk and act like country hicks.
