This is the single best tip out there for sliders. Since coming back to the game, I have struggled with all the rotational crap taught that I never considered before. I found that I could not post up on lead leg any longer and fought a slide the past few years. Without combining the forearm release counterclockwise, there was no way to put up a firm left side. I went out and hit balls and it all came back immediately. I could hear the clubhead speed return and compression on irons returned. Chuck is the real deal, thanks
I'm currently working on this, but I tend to top it, I think I'm posting up too soon, when I time it right, wow the feeling...one of those hits where you can barely even feel the club hit the ball
I'm sure this works the same in tennis serve. Can you explain it the way you did in the golf swing for a tennis serve? I am sure you can if you have the time. Thanks
For me doing this type of release has always forged a hook or over draw. Was told by an istructor that this is because I stop turning as you recommend and that turns the club face over to fast. There are endless videos on this concept.
cclarsen72 I'm glad you mentioned this. I fell upon this "decelleration" method by accident half way through a round... for the remaining holes I struck the ball the best I have ever done. Serious speed and awesome piercing flight. I went the range all excited the next day - and hooked everything. It can work but not sure how you are supposed to prevent the hooks.
This is caused by improper release. If your trail hand takes over and pushes then it can cause hooks. There are a ton videos about release at RST website and here in RUclips. Here is a sample (skip the student part) ruclips.net/video/4Zk-NtAaWQo/видео.html .
This instruction is solid...the dude knows his stuff. However, golf is more complicated than anyone makes it sound...the method here has actually given me a little back ache at times and I have been more into turning left, which has totally left me with no strain. There are so many variables, and we're all in the search for something, I get that, but you really do have to find your own swing with a few golden nuggets from any instructor and probably from our lousy and embarrassing rounds, plus all those lonely hours at the range. I'm sure this lesson fits many of you out there; 2c.
If your back hurts you’re doing it wrong. How exactly are you following my method? Are you watching a few random RUclips clips or are you walking though the videos on the site in the exact order they’re laid out?
@@Rotaryswing It is random. My pain came from, IMO, not having enough hip rotation and then trying to snap the release. I'm pretty sure if I was on the range and you saw me hit a few balls, you'd pick up on how that was actually happening. I do hit the ball further this way, especially my driver, but I began to get that lower back pain. I am sure I am not doing it correctly however, it is a fair assumption on your part that since I am not following through on the entire order as laid out, I'm missing something. Did not mean to troll on here...I am sorry if it came across that way, looking at my post it now appears to me to have words with meanings I did not intend. Additionally, I have struggled mightily with consistency and your point on following through in an organized way is something I haven't done. BTW, my first instinct was to praise the Lesson and its presenter...the lesson on "pulling" vs. pushing has helped me tremendously. 2c.
wreckim no worries I appreciate the retraction. It’s absolutely critical you not cherry pick random tips and try and integrate that to your swing. It’s a guaranteed way to fail and as you’re learning, get injured. Following the RST 5 step system is the only guaranteed way to improve your golf swing in the industry. We guarantee your swing will improve or you don’t pay a penny. Given that I have 350,000 members and zero refunds, that should tell you all you need to know. If you want to see it in action with a student look at my RoadShow lessons here rotaryswing.com/free-golf-lessons
Wow, looks beatifull practice area 👍 I like your videos and great that you share also free irformation. Rory is also amazing player. However you make before video " stop doing this" and said that Rory is breaking hes ribs because he is using body too much. Now suddenly Rory is doing it rightway...🙄 Anyway i like this roll release swing style and try to learn it 👍
Okei, you were just talking hes hip action and that really moves actually backwards at impact 👍 English is not my home language, so sometimes i miss the point.
These videos are invaluable. It's crazy how many so-called teaching pros preach rotating hard with the body...OUCH! In fact I believe one of your former top instructors says to do that. Your back will hate you if you follow that terrible instruction. Thank you good sir!
You're welcome! A swing that produces awesome results but leaves you on the couch or worse on the operating table isn't very awesome at all. I think Tiger and Jason Day would attest to that.
Small animals, children, whatever you don’t need anymore... lol. I’m surprised the PC police hasn’t given you shit about that joke. Nicely done!! Pure gold.
I didnt know where else to post a question to you so I will do it here.. I have been watching your videos because I have been disabled for the last 8 years and am now trying to do anything to get back into shape and I love golf. In your videos, you say that the right arm does nothing... that the left arm is the fulcrum. Then I watched a video with Clay Ballard "The lag dr" saying to use the right arm for speed. ????? Now I dont know what arm does what, im discouraged and thinking of giving up completely. I cant afford lessons as I am disabled and just trying to get back into life. Why does everyone contradict everyone else in the golf swing?
Both arms have jobs in the swing. The right arm adds speed and the left arm is for control. Most golfers way overuse their right hand and that’s why we talk about feeling like it does nothing. All covered in detail on the site
I'm disabled too, and have been an RST member and learned a lot. I still refer back to their youtube vids. I am now a member of Mike Malaska's site. He also has a youtube channel. I really love RST, but in my opinion Malaska is the best golf instructor on the internet. He really simplifies the game.
Does he actually ever explain how to accomplish this idea of slowing the body down and when to do it? I realize it’s somewhat implicit, but that’s true in any golf instruction. The question is how to practice it so that it can be executed properly. I’m not sure I’m picking that up from the video. Great concept though. I have often seen that slow down in professional golfers but only in slow motion. I’ve always wondered why no teacher has ever brought it up.
after watching Rory and many other pro's swing in slow motion... they all seem to be using their body rotation at impact more than you are speaking, especially Rory... can you please give an example (link to a vid) of a tour pro using a rotary type swing? Thanks!
Hmm 🤔 this little confusing I understand the concept and not trying to correct you but I’ve read articles on why you shouldn’t decelerate On impact but rather accelerate through the ball just like baseball bat But just like a object on impact on a object you should actually be accelerating more as soon as you feel the impact point compressing it one of tiger woods books he always talks about accelerating through the ball but never read decelerating
Would I be correct in reading this as a different philosophy to what George Gankas is teaching?....'cause it would appear his philosophy is gaining a lot of traction..........
Jacob Racquer RotarySwing is definitely NOT a one plane swing. We don’t use Hardy’s definitions in the least and even if we did RST would be more of two plane than one. Most all tour pros are a hybrid by his definition which renders his ideas of having to be distinct moot. Only kuchar follows his one plane definition on tour and he’s ones of the shortest hitters out there
Jacob Racquer I understand the confusion and that’s why most instructors don’t use Hardy’s definitions at all anymore. He faded out as quickly as he came in because all his pros lost so much distance.
Henry Cotton practised hitting a old tyre 70 years ago. Mr X suggested imagine hitting a door frame with the back of your left hand . the club head would fly past.Henry Cotton also noticed on photos` the left hand was usually clear but the right hand a blur.
Personally, I think using words like "smash" isn't a good idea? It suggests an uncontrolled lunge at the ball. Sounds trivial I know, but it proven that you can convey things far better using more appropriate terms. Tiger Woods rarely"smashed" anything but his car (and L5) but he "whipped" that clubhead through the ball with a timely "lash" 😉😃 That said, you do address it all in the video

"At impact I am just posting up". That is revolutionary, correct and contradictory to how most golf swing instruction is understood.
Thank you! All these teachers who advocate “just rotate through as fast and hard as you can”… I’ve NEVER felt speed or release from that.
Not good for the spine either!
This is some of the best info on the swing I've seen yet! Thanks for this.
Thanks!
@@Rotaryswing i agree you really know your stuff!
Awesome 👏
I'm highly interested in more you have to say. You make a lot of sense! 👍
It’s all on Rotaryswing.com
Love it just what I need never understood proper release
one of the best advice on youtube. well done!
Thanks Izzy! The good stuff is all on the site at rotaryswing.com this is just the stuff we give away for free!
Best explanation I have ever heard. FULL STOP!
Fantastic video!!!! This information is the missing piece in my understanding of the effortless feeling golf swing!!! Many thanks for sharing! : )

I have a question, if you don't mind.
Is the golf swing more vertical, or horizontal around your body?
Neither. Arms move more vertical while body rotation creates depth in the swing
Excellent explanation. It is almost impossible to slice he ball. Thank you.
OMG... that's it... decelerate and let the club go pass u body... I see this in every golf pro's swing in slow mo!!!! Thank you CHUCK!!!!!!

Will do!
Any idea if hitting an impact bag has any adverse effect on the club shaft?
Hello. I'm an avid disc golfer. Would this concept of deceleration also be applied to throwing a disc as well?
No, this relies on the wrist hinging between our body and the club
Is a punch shot 100% correct deceleration please..??
