  • Chris Podesta is the skipper of a freshly-minted 10m Shockwave Breaksea. He's born and bred in Tasmania, and keen to show The Captain’s crew the salty spoils in his own backyard. Andrew Wright, the owner of Shockwave boats is along for the ride.

I've spent a bit of time in one and they are on par with a cougar cat. Top of the range ride, like a big armchair you just don't have no thump when your coming down off a wave

cool team, boat looks mean. Tazzy looks very much like NZ with your crays and Ab's (paua in NZ)... Ever thought about a big trip to NZ on her?? Have a look a Admiral Boats, Steve who makes them is pretty sharp, the boat is similar size to yours but not a cat, nice to see the quality that is being produced.

Yeah, they are nice too, but us Aussies that are hard core like a bit more of an aggressive deadrise in our mono's. Anything under 21deg deadrise in glass might be shunned upon over here.

Any idea what one of these would be worth roughly? Looks like it’d be a better offshore fisher than a similar sized Grady or Boston express….

While you’re in tassie should check out Coast Craft boats. Their 6.3 offshore makes an edencraft look like a Kmart inflatable kayak
