Hello everyone! Just so yall know, episode 7 footage corrupted after we watched it, so we sadly have to re-record the episode, and release it next thursday. So THIS SUNDAY EPISODE 8 WILL PREMIERE!!
You said you wanted info on Zaheer: Zaheer has a very high spiritual level, because he admired the airbending culture, and learnt many things about it, and he also used his own martial art, which was based on airbending movements. There is a reason that he was the leader of the red lotus and feared by many people even back then when he was a non-bender.
I actually really like the fact that Toph and Aang were not the best parents, with Toph giving her children unlimited freedom due to her isolated upbringing, leading her kids to compete for her affection, and Aang, wanting to restore the Air Nation, focusing much of his with Tenzin making Bumi and Kya feel neglected. I really like that these characters are flawed, just like every person in existence. It makes them feel more real.
@Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas hmm, okay, but that would still make Aang a... not bad, but not the best parent on his own. it's a good thing Katara had her parents around. It's one thing for a community to care for a child, but parents are just something else.
Precisely! This is one thing I think LOK emphasized a lot more and got right compared to ATLA. I mean yes, we had some stuff like Katara's trauma losing her mom and getting angry at Sokka that one episode, but other than that there wasn't much.
@@creatresscorruption802 That kind of thinking is what lead to the creation of the ‘Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978’. Where white American social workers ripped Native American children from their home into foster care, at a rate of 1/4 Native American children were forced into the foster care. White social workers evaluated family well being on the standard of white standards a.k.a the ‘nuclear family’ while Native Americans had a culture of extended family looking after a child. Of course white Christian groups also has an incentive in fostering and adopting Native American children too because then they can convert Native American children into Christianity. Things got so bad that Native Americans were actually headed towards extinction since so many of their children were being taken into foster care. Congress had to step in and create a law governing specifically custody, adoption and fostering of Native American children. Because of that law there are now big red tapes around any custodial dispute of Native American children.
The issue I find with that though is that normally with flawed characters they get arcs to make themselves better people, but aang doesn't get that, he just kinda dies
@@singnienini4353 I think Lin needed to get over it for her own sake, but at the same time, someone should have told Su that she has given Lin _0_ reasons to desire her or her families company in any way. Like, when you burn a bridge you gotta rebuild it if you want it crossed. You can't just show up all brand new asking why the other person hasn't already crossed over to you.
Honestly, Su really, REALLY has to have gotten on the nerves of a certain ATLA!Team Avatar member (cough*Katara*cough)due to her tendency to ignore past wrongdoings. Especially since Lin was dating her son and probably saw her as her "real' mom. That has to have caused some sort of fallout.
Honestly, I don't care that Suyin committed a crime. I care that she permanently scarred her sister and never apologized. Zuko understood that he did bad things, felt sorry, and tried to make amends. Zuko expected people to be angry with him. Whereas, Suyin seems to expect forgiveness without restitution. Zuko's scar isn't going to magically go away because of an apology, and nor is Lin's.
Thank you! It's like no one ever addresses the fact that Lin is permanently scarred, for life, and by her sister of all people! Like, imagine waking up and seeing that! And what about when people asked about it? Imagine how that felt, to be reminded of that every day. And, while I understand siblings say a bunch of mean stuff to each other, Suyin went a little far, like that could have lead to them being even worse off! Point is, I'll take Lin's side until the day i die because she doesn't deserve all the crap she's been through.
also Zuko realized his mistakes, and did what to make them right, and he felt so guilty because of them, and Zuko apologized to Iroh and didn't expected forgiveness
@Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas Yeah Su really screwed everyone over there. Plus, I think this incident led to a fallout within the ATLA!Team Avatar because of how it was covered up, especially considering who Lin was close to (likely seeing them as parental surrogates) and whose son she was dating.
Ngl that was two far IMO and they ended for another reason because tenzin wanted kids (to repopulate air benders) but Lin wasn’t ready to have kids along with them growing apart
Nah you don't understand thats how siblings work if you had some you would know that they could says some really personal shot after all they are your sibling a lot of the times fighting is needed to resolve the tension
When Bolin was watching Korra metalbending, he was like Katara when Aang learned Waterbending so fast. Some benders are kinda jealous of the avatar, even though they know the avatar can learn very fast... it must be frustrating
@@luminaryprism75 She does it at the end of book 2 when she energybends to summon the astral projection of her spirit (or as they say in the series: Giant spirit Korra) Of course she never really learned it or controlled it because everything that happened in the finale can only be done thanks to harmonic convergence, but still she did it.
Nice detail in this episode: Toph suggests that Suyin leaves the city and stays with her grandparents. This shows that after the 100-year-war Toph actually worked things out with her parents. If you want to know more about this, read the comics ;)
I have, and what confuses me is that she said "grandparents", plural. According to Toph's father in The Rift, her parents practically divorced after Toph ran away.
I've heard a few theories that I really like about Lin and Tenzin in their relationship and why it ended. So my headcanon which is a mix of these theories is that Lin and Tenzin were dating for a really long time like 5+ years but they broke up because Lin didn't want kids because she didn't think she'd be a good mom and Tenzin as the only airbending child of The Last Airbender really needed to have airbending offspring. So they broke up and Tenzin got with Pema who is a non-Bender and are acolyte so it seems they would have a higher chance of producing airbending kids.
I don’t see anyone saying it, but Lin seeing young Su in Korra wasn’t just a coincidence. She sees the a parallel between the two; a brash, young know-it-all who always gets adults to help her out of her mess. It’s probably why she is so cold to Korra from the moment she meets her.
I LOVE the Beifong family, they're so interesting from a psychological standpoint. Seeing the way each member responds to the way they've been treated and tries to compensate with their own lives is facinating.
I think it's great writing that they introduce Suyin in the previous episode and make her extremely sympathetic. Lin comes off as a real jerk and Suyin is nice and understanding and hospitable to Team Avatar. Then in this episode they show why Lin is so upset, and make her anger 100% justified. It's great writing showing how complex and flawed people are and how difficult interpersonal relationships can be. It also makes it more satisfying to see both characters grow. Top notch.
Love what we do with Lin here, and that it’s in this season. Lin has always been a character who struggles with change, and accepting that others CAN change. It all comes to a head here.
Team Lin, Suyin didn't apologize (at first) and felt like giving her sister a permanent scar (on the FACE) wasn't that big of a deal. Youngest child privilege.
@@sephryn6112 Lin doesn't have to make efforts to meet Suyin tho, if she wanted to apologize so bad, I'm sure she could've gone to Republic city That's just my opinion
An interesting detail to note from the previous episode, when Korra tells off Lin in episode 5 and Lin is crying, you can see her right hand is touching the scar on her face. Just a small detail that with context is much more powerful.
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4 your right su yins can be selfish but I think that Lin didn't make it clear her apology wasn't enough and it wasn't. And kuvira in season 3 and 4 you realize how much su cares for her she let her play with her kids and treated her as her own. You might think she just used her as security but that was kuviras choice. Just like toph she loves fighting remember when she wanted to face the red lotus, and last but not least in the comics she decided to show pity to kuvira and give her the same punishment as her son. She let her literally stay with her just under house arrest with her for some Time. So su yins not as bad as she seems really. And Lin was in the wrong as well a little bit.
@@inazumaelevenv8064 I don't think so, yeah, Suyin is a very good person but she is a BAD sister, Lin was hurt and all she wanted was an apology, a real apology. I don't like Suyin not because of what she did when she was young, I don't like her for what she did afterward, even knowing how bad Lin was, she dared to confront her about Tenzin and spoke ill of her if you realize it. '' I'm sure Lin would be a horrible teacher '' among other things, while Lin did not speak ill of her behind her back. Sorry for misspellings or if I said something wrong, English is not my native language
I think there's definitely a significance in Lin seeing Korra as young Su. Remember that Korra came to republic city causing trouble, city-wide property damage, traffic danger, etc. Lin was so hard on her from day 1 because Korra's recklessness at the time reminded her of young Suyin. The hallucination was meant to symbolize that, I think.
Also paralleling Su: - Korra namedroped Toph while being interrogated, and Lin took it as an attempt to get out of trouble - Korra then actually got off without punishment thanks to Tenzin, also not one of Lin's favorite people Lin does come to like Korra over the first season because of how she takes her troubles head-on. The issue when they first met was because Korra thought she did nothing wrong, not that she could get away with stuff because she was the Avatar or knew powerful people, but Lin mistook the former for the latter.
@Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas To be honest even of C did do the full hearted apology and sincerely meant it Lin would not have forgiven her lane is not the kind of person that needs words she's the kind of person that needs action which means if I need so really for own anger for her to get over it which is why it helped during the fight
@@HaydrogenBomb That's not a damn apology. Apologizing is the same thing as forgiving. When you apologize, it's because there's something inside you that feels bad for hurting whomever it is you wronged. Su does not feel that way at all and she didn't even tell Korra the truth about herself as a kid back then.
I love the antagonists in this season! They aren't just bad for the sake of being bad. They are people, they have personalities, relationships, friendships, goals and dreams. They can joke with each other and they support one another. It's great.
Probably my favorite part of this episode is that after lin's change it feels to me that her movement and her design smooths out and feels less rough/jagged much like her attitude and I love it
Combustion bending canoncially requires a large build or the recoil will yeet u backwards every time you use it. P'li is 6'8 and combustion man was 6'10
This is the only thing I hated about season 3. Suyin broke the law, permanently scarred Lin, and then ran away instead of accepting the consequences and everyone acts as if Lin's in the wrong and should just move on. I mean yeah, 30 years is a bit of a long time to hold a grudge, but Suyin screwed Lin over, who was majorly betrayed by her mom in the process, and never apologized. Even in this episode there's no apology to be found, just Suyin being like, "Oh, the past is in the past. Let's move on and forget about it". That's not how you make amends with someone you've wronged, Suyin!
It makes so much sense for an avatar to learn multiple bending substyles, to not only use them, but also counter other benders. Imagine if Korra learned lightning bending and redirection.
A scary idea: a bloodbending Avatar. And I assume all four elements have a technique like bloodbending that allows you to control not the elements, but another human. We probably (SPOILERS) have already seen one such technique in Episode 10 of this season.
@@bkjeong4302 here's a really cool waterbending subskill that was never seen in the show: respiration. Only the most skilled waterbenders can do it, they can pull oxygen from water and breathe underwater. Almost like gills
to answer your question about zaheer, when he was a non-bender he was still a skilled athletic fighter with natural evade and strike based fighting styles, natural skills for an airbender, but he was also very connected to the spirits and borderline obsessed with the air nomad culture, specifically the guru laghima he mentioned in the first episode and periodically through the back half of the season, so he had spirit conections, agility, and obsesive knowlegde of the culture and lifestyle, BEFORE he became a bender
@Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas Su invited her to Zaofu to show her what Lin and her mom inspired her to do but Lin said she wasn't interested in talking to her so what's the point of going to republic city if Lin is just going to ignore her there anyway. Lin needed a lot of time to forgive but Su wasn't patient enough and gave up prematurely.
@@BhBc8f8 Do you excepted that Lin would waste a vacation to pack up and travel halfway across the continent just so her sister could show off and rub it in on how much better she was now then back then? Yeah I wouldn’t blame Lin for that.
@@brandonlyon730 do you think Lin ever sent a reply and said 'I can't leave the city, I'm too busy, if you come here then we can talk?' Because I seriously doubt she ever did, and the first step to rapprochement and amends is both sides willing to talk in some form, any form, as it was made clear, Lin didn't want to, offers were given to communicate she ignored it. Su did a terrible wrong, she owes her an apology, and then when she was ready she reached out to her older sister and was rejected out of hand. The problem here isn't Lin (I'm on her side) and it isn't Su, its on the situation that forced them together when one of them still wasn't ready to let go.
Ahhhh I love Lin!!! She’s my favorite Korra character and I find her trauma and how it affects her personality really interesting! This is also my favorite episode.
I just realized that this is kinda the first time we’ve delved a little deeper into the Beifong families lives. We only had a sample of info from the OG Avatar, which didn’t really cover a lot. I like how this episode gives us more to talk about with Lin, Suyin, and Toph. They had it rough in the past and went down different paths after the fact.
I always think that Toph didn’t put her daughter in jail because she’s the daughter of the police chief so who knows what the criminals would do to her
Toph’s not give a da** attitude works when you are a kid. But as an adult it doesn’t necessarily works into great parenting especially since it seems Toph was consumed with her work and reputation as chief of police than having a firmer hand in raising her daughters.
Exactly. Wise old Iroh would have punished his children in what situation, to humble them and teach them responsibility, the consequences of their actions, and accountability.
I'm gonna pitch something here, Lin and Tenzin broke up because they wanted different things, a lot of the fandom surmise that was because Tenzin wanted to have kids and a big family to help rebuild the air nation while Lin did not. Spoiler: Do you think that being the product of a broken home(Lin's father was never in the picture), added with Toph's rather unconducive parenting style, compounded with how bratty Su yin was, culminated into Lin being turned off by the whole idea of parenthood?
I have a theory that Lin's father was one of Toph's fellow officers or subordinates (since it seems she was the founder) but he died in the line of duty either before he learned she was pregnant or during it. It makes sense then if he was "the one" that Toph would've grieved a lot and not wanted to talk or reminisce about him. Regarding Sui I am slightly into the fan theory that she's the affair child of Toph and Sokka. It would explain even more why she doesn't know her father. An affair scandal between a councilmember and the chief of police could cause massive political issues in the young Central City. So she could never be claimed by Sokka if he ever knew for sure.
@@GamerGrovyle I actually like the theory that Lin's father was a criminal. There's a fanfic where he is a gang member who snitches on Toph, which eventually led to a relationship.
I feel like LOK brakes down the ideology that just because these are characters we grew up with, doesn’t mean that we should put them on pedestals. Toph was not a perfect mother, Aang was not a perfect father. It doesn’t matter if they were good people our spouses, because raising a child brings out a different side of everyone, be it good or bad. I also love how LOK deals with how the sons and daughters of the og Team Avatar have fights and arguments that seem realistic, including the argument that Su and Lin had about their mother before the fight.
Having seen my sisters fight constantly for years until finally reaching a point that they're cool with each other, I totally understand this episode. I've let them fight quite a few times. And it sure was entertaining 😂
You guys happened to skip over this, and for some reason most people do, but the “Lin seeing Korra as Suyin thing” is such a smart writing choice! It explains why she was so hesitant to like Korra in Book One. Korra is a lot like Lin, but she’s maybe even more like Suyin, so she distanced herself.
It also kind of fits in to how Lin thinks like for her even if soon did every kind of apology even when the turn yourself in or give herself her own scar it would not be enough lin isn't the kind of person that you can talk to to earn forgiveness you gotta use physical action just like her to earn forgiveness
Did anyone else notice her laugh at "How many of those things are you gonna stick in me?" How much you want to bet she was thinking "That's what she said." at that moment lol
Lyn's hallucination of Korra explains why she had that attitude towards Korra when she first arrived at the city, because she reminded her of her sister.
Korra learning metalbending with relative ease tracks with her character. She was able to water, earth and fire bend at such an early age. The more physical side of bending was never a challenge to her. In this case, given that it's a metal/material that's more susceptible to metal bending and now that she's waaay more technical in different bending styles, it's a breeze for her. From what we've seen, the more spiritual forms of bending such as air, energy and spirit bending were the harder challenges for her.
A lot of people miss Lin's transformation somehow. Like a certain melon lord did with her voice acting this episode, you guys knocked this reaction out of the park.
One of my favorite episodes of LoK. As much as I love the show, we didn't get many of these side character-centric episodes like we did in TLA. And Lin is my favorite side character, so it's even better.
@@bkjeong4302 Katara's trauma was 1000 times worse though, she had survivor's guilt from being the one her mom was protecting. I think outside of that she didn't hold than many grudges.
@@mathies3598 Yes, her trauma was MUCH worse than anything Lin went through, but do you seriously think a teenaged/young adult Lin would take that into account and ease off on grudges and not use her maternal substitute (and then-boyfriend's mother) as a role model for that sort of thing?
One thing I adore about ATLA and LoK is that people make mistakes, but then... have genuine, heartfelt conversations that lead to actual change. So many shows have people stuck in simplistic ruts and character tropes, it's refreshing. I also think it's a great example for kids and teens to see people actually working things out. ... Heck, adults, too.
I believe that Lin hallucination of Korra as Suyin. Connects to the way she viewed Korra. Upon her introduction into Republic City(involved in interfering with crimes and often not advising/skirting authority). Edit: y'all covered it in the Episode Verdict
What i really like about the fight between Lin and Suyin is that you can see a) how earth bending evolved and b) how it perfectly reflects their personalities. Lin bends in a very traditional way with solid stances and hard attacks. She is also the one who is more stubborn and is still holding on to things in their past. On the other side Suyin uses a more "modern" earth bending style which includes much more metall bending and is almost flowing like water bending. Which makes sense because she is the one who changed and adapted.
@@petezahut2432 so if su said that shes million years old u gonna trust her? She could have easily just said it to make it so its lin fault when its clearly her own fault.
Glad she didn't notice all the needles sticking out of the acupuncturist's head after Lin shot them off given her reaction to them to begin with. The funniest part to me is that the guy who got them in his face didn't care.
I think Suyin did try to make things better with Lin before this episode, she mentioned that she had fixed things with Toph and that Lin was the only one who separated from the family, Lin's problem was that she closed completely and let go of her family and even of Tenzin, she was so traumatized by something that happened more than 20 years ago, that she could not even believe that her sister had changed in that time. If Suyin had sent a letter to Lin explaining everything, obviously Lin would not read it, she would destroy it, Suyin's problem was not insisting on clarifying her situation with Lin. Toph's problem was not trying to be the mediator, if she saw that there was no communication, why not try to talk to Lin, something Suyin couldn't, but no, Toph decided to just fix the problem with Suyin and let Lin solve her problem alone (something that Lin didn’t do) It was everyone's fault.
While I’m looking forward to this episode reaction I’m more looking forward to the episode 7 reaction. This episode with Korra learning metalbending it got me thinking that if Korra had traveled around the world to find her bending instructors, Suyin would have been her Earthbending instructor.
well he is garbage because of the plot. if he sent the united forces to demolish unalaq, the entire 2nd half of season 2 wouldnt exist, season 3 new airbenders wouldnt come; zaheer wouldnt break free and kill the earth queen so kuvira could step in, all he does is continue the plot.
@@joaobastos6435 I actually think it could have worked out. Imagine if the united republic helped out drive off the north, and Korra tried to close the portal from in Spirit world at the same time. Events in the spirit world happen as they did and Korra ends up opening both portals. The north is mostly defeated but still controls the northern spirit portal. Unalaq brings northern troops through the portal and a big battle happens during harmonic convergence. Unalaq still becomes the dark avatar etc., etc. Personally, I don't get why Raiko didn't get un-elected after season 2. He decided not to get involved and that ended up hurting Republic City. He certainly wouldn't have looked good in the polls.
I'm late to your channel but I just want to impress how happy I am to see someone giving these episodes and Lin the attention they deserve. Most reactors get through these Beifong family episodes with reactions of "Lin is traumatized by THAT? Pathetic", and it really does the entire situation disservice. Lin is my favorite character in LoK and it's just refreshing to see others actually attribute meaning to the family issues.
Important clarification that my sister had to point out to me: When Toph said she couldn’t have a daughter in jail, she didn’t mean for her reputation. Being connected to cop and in prison is practically a death sentence. The 16 year old daughter of the police CHEIF? Toph sent her away to save her life. (Though now I want to know more about the dynamics with Toph’s parents if she was willing to send Suyin to them)
I think Lin saw Korra because Suyin was the base reason why she didn't gel with Korra despite their similar personalities. She saw Korra first after she caused a ruckus in Republic City AFTER she snuck out of the South Pole illegally stowing away. A hard-headed know-it-all that has power to do extra nonsense. I think it's easy for her to make the connection from their first meeting.
Aang said during _The_ _Storm_ 'the next thing I knew I woke up in your arms.' As the sequence happened in a literal flash for him. So he didn't think during all that time.
There's a non-canonical rumor amongst fans that Sokka is Suyin's dad, and the call-back to the meteor bending is something I didn't notice the first time watching this. I am here for this. 😂😂😂
Imagine if the prison breakers teaching korra bending zaheer (although wouldn’t be an air bender knows a lot about the culture and could probably still teach korra) ,ghazan as the earth bender (and possibly lava bender) ,ming-hua as the badass water bending teacher and p’li as the fire bending teacher.Korra would be unstoppable and she would have them to back her up to
This was one of the best episodes of book three and I'm waiting for the last episode I think in the last episode is going to be alotttt of tearbending for both Kenny and montana
I just noticed something interesting about Lin and Suyin’s designs. I’m assuming it was intentional and I’m not just over analyzing. Their hairs are drawn based on their personalities. Suyin is free flowing and calm and he hair is drawn more curvy, while Lin is “rough” and he hair is drawn with more angles.
I wonder how this incident affected ATLA!Team Avatar. One of them had a kid that ended up being a criminal and that kid wasn't brought to justice for it. That HAS to have caused some tension and even falling out in the group, especially since Lin didn't take this lightly and she's implied to have been much closer to a few other members of Team Avatar (being a surrogate daughter of sorts) more than she was her own mother, for understandable reasons. And remember, Lin's trait of holding serious grudges for years is shared by (and maybe even passed from) her ex-boyfriend's mother, also of Team Avatar, who would probably have sided with Lin on this argument. I imagine Air Temple Island took some major collateral damage when the moms started sparring things out over this mess....
I always imagine Katara and Toph didnt get along super well all the time even well into their adult years. It just makes a lot of sense bc of their personalities. They mustve had some great heated discussions whenever Katara noticed how Toph would deal with her kids. I love them both tho lol!
@@MinaFentany Pretty much what I imagine. Also, the children for each of them probably considered the other to be honorary aunts at some level. And anyone else think their kids would pick sides on who to cheer for during those arguments?
I've never really thought about it before I read The Rise of Kyoshi, but I think Bolin has issues metal bending because he has poor precision control over small pieces of earth. I hadn't really thought about it because one of Bolin's defining characteristics of his bending is that he generally doesn't move large slabs of earth or boulders like we've seen other earth benders move in the past. He generally picks up large rocks or disks and shoots them in rapid succession with quick punches and kicks, but in one of the few instances we see him just holding a stone disk still in Book 2, we can see it wobbling in place under his control despite being within arm's reach. Sure he can compensate for that lack of precise control by throwing with speed and accuracy, but when it comes to sustaining that precision for longer than an instant, he can't maintain and has poor control. It actually totally makes sense that he can't bend the tiny fragments of earth inside of a piece of metal, because even though he generally focuses on small pieces of earth, he's demonstrated before that he has issues with control on such a small scale.
Always loved how Lin and Su have very different earthbending/metalbending styles. Lin's got the very traditional, stand your ground earthbending while Su has a ton of circular evasions and acrobatics like airbenders, and redirecting attacks like waterbenders. Almost as if her time traveling the world has influenced her fighting style. Good stuff.
Also, note that Su fights much more like her mother (relying heavily on mobility and endurance as in her mother's self-created style, in contrast to the typical slow and sturdy style) than her elder sister does. As for using airbending/waterbending-style evasion/redirection moves, given that we know Lin was close to THOSE members of Team Avatar, it's reasonable to assume Su was as well (at least until she went bad and started working with triads as a teen). Notably both of the sisters use a lot of leaping moves and are adept at aerial maneuvers using steel cables, which, in addition to representing airbending influence, can be seen as the metal equivalent of the water arm/whip.
You guys are hands down my favorite ATLA/LOK reactors! You dive so deep and really get into the psychology of these characters. You genuinely love this show and the characters which is so refreshing! Also your faces at that Suyin/Tenzin burn was AMAZING

That has to have caused some sort of fallout.
fr brought up tenzin

@Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas Yeah Su really screwed everyone over there. That is very true

Fun fact, young suyin is voiced my Makayla Murphy and voices toph in the OG show
I LOVE the Beifong family, they're so interesting from a psychological standpoint.
Top notch.
Suyin had written manipulator all over her for quite some scenes last episode.

your right su yins can be selfish but I think that Lin didn't make it clear her apology wasn't enough and it wasn't.
Also paralleling Su:
- Korra namedroped Toph while being interrogated, and Lin took it as an attempt to get out of trouble
- Korra then actually got off without punishment thanks to Tenzin, also not one of Lin's favorite people
Lin does come to like Korra over the first season because of how she takes her troubles head-on. The issue when they first met was because Korra thought she did nothing wrong, not that she could get away with stuff because she was the Avatar or knew powerful people, but Lin mistook the former for the latter.

Do you think that being the product of a broken home(Lin's father was never in the picture), added with Toph's rather unconducive parenting style, compounded with how bratty Su yin was, culminated into Lin being turned off by the whole idea of parenthood?
Would make perfect sense.

I typically skip people talking in between reactions, but you guys have so much valuable insight, it is just pleasure to listen to your thoughts!

I believe that Lin hallucination of Korra as Suyin. Connects to the way she viewed Korra. Upon her introduction into Republic City(involved in interfering with crimes and often not advising/skirting authority). Edit: y'all covered it in the Episode Verdict
It didn't help that she invoked her mother to avoid consequences.
Also, you can see different aspects of their mother's influence (and of her own self-developed, unique style) here.
Lin is valid and Suyin should have faced consequences for her actions, but at some point, she has to let the past go.

It took Tenzin telling Lin that Korra did have a side similar to younger responsibility driven Lin, for her to ease up and give Korra a chance.
Invoking her mother to get out of trouble didn't help either.

Imagine if the prison breakers teaching korra bending zaheer (although wouldn’t be an air bender knows a lot about the culture and could probably still teach korra) ,ghazan as the earth bender (and possibly lava bender) ,ming-hua as the badass water bending teacher and p’li as the fire bending teacher.Korra would be unstoppable and she would have them to back her up to
That was actually their plan when korra was a child. Abduct her and teach her the elements for they’re own usage
This was one of the best episodes of book three and I'm waiting for the last episode I think in the last episode is going to be alotttt of tearbending for both Kenny and montana
Kenny: I think he's about to go through something growth-wise.
Me: Bolin after air temple arc
Am I the only one who noticed that Lin bursting some of all Needles actually hit the head of that Acupuncturist Guy 🤣🤣🤣
Total counters counter: over 9000.
"she cant read it. its in braille!!??" XD
lol, I never thought about it before. Maybe someone's job was to just always be around to read reports out loud to Toph
Just use ink that contains metal.

I cant wait for Lin back round!!!!! also stan Opal this ep.
Wow... u guys had to set this premiere to start in 23 hours! This is just mental torture.

@@LettsReact Ik but like..... we enjoy your videos so much we just wanna see it now. But fine I’ll be patient.
I freaking LOOOOVE this episode so much. I like Su, but I'm #TeamLin forever. Honestly my favorite character
yes i expected this thumbnail
Nice
Very excited to watch your reaction to this episode!! probably one of my favorites in the show!
Y'all are definitely holding hands I just noticed so cute
Literally every reaction video I've seen for this episode, someone is majorly freaked out by the acupuncture 😂😂
